Chapter 464: 450, Give His Chocolate to Others (2)_1

She took a napkin and wiped her skirt, annoyance flickering in her eyes.

She had finally managed to have a meal with Black Jack and now, she had messed it up again.

“Black Jack, I’m sorry,” she said, her tone laden with frustration.

Black Jack shook his head, “No matter.”

“Black Jack, could you please have someone bring me a change of clothes?” she asked hesitantly.

Black Jack glanced dispassionately at her soiled skirt and gave a slight nod.

Upon receiving his approval, Lis felt joy bubbling beneath her chest.

“Thank you!”

Black Jack took out his phone and sent a message.

The entire conversation between the two unfolded before Jian Luo’s eyes. He gripped his knife and fork tighter, finding the food in the restaurant suddenly unpalatable.

Bai Jue glanced at the interaction between Black Jack and Lis. Looking at Jian Luo’s clenched knife and fork, he had a feeling that they’re going to fly at him any second.

“Jian Luo, calm down.”

He kept his voice low, reaching his hand out to pry Jian Luo’s hand loose, taking away the knife and fork.

“Am I not calm?” Jian Luo asked with a faint smile.

Bai Jue replied, “You should stop smiling, it’s making me uneasy.”

Jian Luo receded his gaze, ignoring him.

“Bai Jue, do you think I should have listened to my Grandpa yesterday?”

Bai Jue gave a start.

“What are you planning to do?”

This guy wouldn’t be planning to actually meet the potential brides, would he?

“I suddenly find Miss Davis quite appealing,” Jian Luo picked up a napkin, wiped his mouth and leisurely remarked.

“Wait, are you serious?” Bai Jue gazed at him, eyes wide with shock.

“I heard Miss Davis is pretty and gentle,” Jian Luo said, resting his chin on his hand, the corner of his lip curling up.

Bai Jue took a big gulp of water to calm himself.

“Jian Luo, don’t be rash.”

Impulse is the devil.

Jian Luo offered a faint smile, devoid of humor, “I should head back now.”

“Hold on, I’ll come with you,” Bai Jue said.

“Are you guys leaving so soon?” Lis asked.

Jian Luo nodded and shoved his hands into his pockets, abruptly coming into contact with something.

A fleeting look of surprise crossed his eyes as he drew out the object from his pocket.

“Lis, do you like chocolate?”

Lis hesitated upon hearing his question.

She reciprocated Jian Luo’s gaze and offered a warm smile, “I quite like them.”

There aren’t many girls who dislike chocolate, after all.

“Really?” Jian Luo cryptically smiled, “Then all these are for you.”

With that said, he placed all the chocolates onto the table.

The finely crafted chocolates, just the sight of the wrapper alone was enough to make one’s heart flutter.

Looking at the chocolates on the table, Black Jack’s fingers tightened into a fist.

Damn it.

He had actually given away the chocolates he’d given him.

“Huh?” Lis was taken aback, picking up one of the chocolates, “Jian Luo, I remember you also like chocolates, how could you bear to give them all to me?”

Back in their school days, who didn’t know that Jian Luo loved chocolates? There was rarely a day where he didn’t have chocolates in his pockets.

Sometimes, when she saw Black Jack and Bai Jue specifically helping him buy chocolates, she felt a twinge of jealousy and envy. How she wished Black Jack could give her chocolates for once.

“Just because I liked it before doesn’t mean I still do,” Jian Luo retracted his hand and stuffed it into his pocket, “People change.”

Lis didn’t give it much thought, “Thank you for the chocolates.”

The brand of chocolates just happened to be her favorite.

“We’ll get going then, we won’t disturb you anymore.”

Upon finishing his words, Jian Luo ignored the gaze from Black Jack and walked straight out.

“Jian Luo, wait for me.”

Bai Jue patted Black Jack’s shoulder, and hurriedly walked out.

Black Jack suppressed the urge to chase after them. His gaze fell on the chocolates on the table, his mood despairingly agitated.

When Bai Jue got outside, he saw Jian Luo standing by the car, only then did he breathe a sigh of relief.

“Regretting giving away the chocolates?”

Despite being angry deep down, he magnanimously gave all his chocolates away. Did this idiot realize that he was, in fact, his rival?

“Won’t you get sick of chocolates if you eat too much of them?” Jian Luo raised his head, the clarity in his eyes seeming bottomless.

For the first time, he didn’t chase after him.

Does this mean that he also cares about Lis?

Perhaps, they need to seriously consider what’s going on between them.

It was a rare sight seeing Jian Luo like this, Bai Jue dropped his usual jovial demeanor and asked, “Jian Luo, what’s wrong?”

Why does this look so tragically heroic?

“I’m alright, let’s head back. I have some design drafts to work on.” When he was annoyed, work was the best diversion.

“Give me the car keys, I’ll drive,” Bai Jue extended his hand and said.

Jian Luo dug into his pocket, his brows furrowing.

Could he have left them in the restaurant?

“What’s wrong?” Seeing that Jian Luo wasn’t taking out his keys, Bai Jue asked.

Jian Luo, “I think I might have left the car keys in the restaurant.”

Bai Jue rubbed his temples, “I’m truly defeated by you.”

With resignation, he walked back into the restaurant, with Jian Luo slowly trailing behind.

“Hiss –”

Jian Luo, head lowered, bumped straight into the Bai Jue’s back, causing an ache in his forehead.

“Why did you stop?”

He complained, rubbing his forehead.

Bai Jue spun around swiftly, hooked his arm around Jian Luo’s shoulder, turning him around “Jian Luo, I just remembered that I have the car keys.”

Jian Luo looked at him suspiciously, “With you?”

“Yes, with me. I just took them,” Bai Jue said, “Let’s go.”

Jian Luo’s gaze intensified, he agilely grabbed Bai Jue’s hand and turned around.

The scene that filled his sight the next moment caused a sharp pang in his heart.

At the window-side table in the restaurant, a woman was embracing a man tightly while he offered no resistance, their intimate actions were a painful sight for him.

Bai Jue wished he could faint at the sight, he never should have suggested coming to this restaurant.

This situation was getting increasingly out of hand.

“Let’s go.”

Jian Luo turned and said calmly.

Bai Jue, “But the keys…”

“Let’s go first. I’ll have the driver from home pick us up.” Jian Luo raised his hand and brushed over his shoulder, the mark hidden beneath his clothes now felt particularly annoying.

Fortunately, they hadn’t confirmed their relationship yet, there was still time to change his mind, wasn’t there?

Bai Jue glanced back at the restaurant one last time before following Jian Luo and leaving.

Black Jack, oh Black Jack, you’re really in deep trouble now.
