Beneath the stage, Shen Hao looked at his boss, who wore a frosty countenance. The deep purple of his eyes was chillingly cold, making anyone who met his gaze feel a shiver down their spine.

“Hey, Shen Hao, did Jian Qing not come today?” Quan Yifei, standing next to him, glanced at the stage and nudged Shen Hao with his elbow.
Shen Hao shook his head, lowering his voice, “If my lady were here, do you think the boss would still have that expression?”
Quan Yifei was stunned, “Um…”
The press interview went on for almost an hour. Considering the icy demeanor of the boss, the reporters did nothing more than asking him about the key points of the jewellery project. They dared not bring up any questions related to his private life.
The one who could influence the boss’s mood was at home at this moment, leisurely located on the sofa watching TV, nibbling on a big box of ice cream.
The TV screen showed the live broadcast of JK International’s jewelry press conference. Jian Qing gazed at the man sitting in the middle of the high platform on the bright screen, a hint of a smile tugged at the corner of her mouth.
She scooped a spoonful of ice cream into her mouth, the icy coldness made Jian Qing squint her eyes in satisfaction.
In this hot summer, air conditioning and ice cream were the perfect match.
Suddenly, the dark screen of the mobile phone lit up, a video call request popped up. Jian Qing picked it up and took a look, her eyebrows furrowed when she saw the remark above it.
She put down the ice cream in her hand, stood up with her mobile phone, and swiftly went out to the small yard outside the french window, to ensure that the ice cream wouldn’t appear in the video call.
As she answered the call, Grandpa Jian’s face suddenly appeared on the screen, the wrinkles at the corners of his eyes crinkled unconsciously when he saw Jian Qing.
“Grandpa!” Jian Qing called out warmly.
Upon hearing this call, Grandpa Jian, who had experienced more than half a lifetime of hardships, softened immediately, his face full of benevolent smiles, “Little Qingqing, how have you been lately? Has anyone been bullying you?”

Jian Qing explained, “Luoluo left the manor without notifying my grandfather last night.”
