Chapter 97: 97, It’s Time to Settle Accounts Now (Third Watch) _1
Jian Qing squinted her eyes slightly, her gaze turning fluid, “Khan, thanks. Let them wait at the gate, I’ll send someone to let them in.”
“Spare the thanks, can you share what’s up?” Khan asked. 𝚗ovp𝚞b.𝚌om
“A dumb rat never remembers the beating, I need to loosen him up a bit, let some blood.” Jian Qing said in a low voice.
“We’ll talk when there’s time, gotta hang up now.”
After putting the phone in her pocket, Jian Qing turned and went back, “Mr. An, Mr. Quan, I need to go downstairs for a bit. I’ll make up for this tea sometime.”
Turning her head towards Qiu Bo, she said, “I have a few friends coming to see me. Qiu Bo, could you arrange for someone to let them in?”
Qiu Bo looked at Old Master An, seeing his nod, he then replied, “I’ll go handle it.”
With that said, Qiu Bo quickly walked out.
“You’re leaving again right after coming back?” Old Master An’s eyes hinted at a touch of disappointment.
Jian Qing replied, “I’m going to the living room downstairs.”
Upon hearing this, Old Master An looked bewildered. Considering that Qiu Bo just mentioned that Yang Xiang and his group were still in the living room, an uneasy premonition rose in his heart.
“Qing girl, what are you doing in the living room?”
Jian Qing remained indifferent, letting him stare, “You’ll know soon.”
With that, not waiting for Old Master An to ask more questions, Jian Qing turned around and left the Study Room.
“Uncle An, Miss Qing called you…” Old Master Quan still submerged in the earlier mention of “Old Master An”, looked surprised.
Old Master An waved his hand, a trace of bitterness and helplessness passing in his eyes, “That girl has been calling me that ever since she returned, I guess I don’t have the right to ask for more.”
Upon hearing that, Old Master Quan fell silent.
With the passage of time, some people and things are too difficult to return to the way they were.
Once a nail is hammered in, even if it’s fully pulled out, the holes remain. This is even more so with matters of the heart.
…
The atmosphere in the living room was a bit stifling due to Jian Qing’s return.
Yang Xiang had a gloomy face. Yang Lin was comforting her, Zhao Xuan and her daughter’s expressions weren’t looking good either. The only one who seemed to be pleased by Jian Qing’s return was perhaps Xiang Cheng, sitting on the sofa.
“Who are you? Who let you in?” Yang Lin was sitting in front of the door, her face filled with surprise as she looked at the approaching figures.
Her voice was rather loud, drawing the attention of An Yu and others.
On seeing the people entering from outside, Zhao Xuan sprung up, her eyes wide with anger, “Who are you? This is the An’s mansion, who let you in, get out.”
“I brought them in.” Qiu Bo descended from the upstairs, was taken aback upon sight of the people in the living room, then he spoke.
What…What’s going on?
How could Miss Qing’s friends be…
The four burly men in black clothes who were brought in by the Servant had intimidating muscles that couldn’t be concealed under their short sleeves. Their tanned skin added an extra layer of menace to them, but what was most shocking was the big iron hammer they each held in their hands, they looked like they were here to cause trouble.
“Qiu Bo, what are you doing? How could you let these people in?” An Yu stared at the line of muscular men, her face slightly changing colour.
Qiu Bo remained silent, walked over to the four men, and cautiously asked, “Who are you here to see?”
“Miss Jian.” The man standing furthest to the right spoke up.
“What is Jian Qing calling these people here for? Does she think this is a place she can bring anyone to, cats and dogs alike?” Yang Xiang rose from the sofa, sneering.
An Yu echoed, ” Qiu Bo, have you lost your mind? How could you let Jian Qing bring these people in? Get them out now.”
Qiu Bo glanced at the four muscular men, his gaze dropped to their iron hammers, and a foreboding feeling spread from his heart.
“Miss Qing.”
Hearing the movement in the staircase, Qiu Bo looked up to see Jian Qing descending, his brow jumped.
“Jian Qing, what on earth are you trying to do?” Seeing Jian Qing, An Yu couldn’t keep her composure any longer, shouting enraged.
Jian Qing leisurely walked down the remaining steps, her gaze brushed over everyone before falling on the four gigantic men. Upon seeing the shiny big hammers in their hands, she let out a laugh.
Well, Khan has finally been reliable this time.
Now it’s time to settle the score.
The two men in black standing at either end exchanged glances. After confirming that Jian Qing was their employer, all four of them moved as one.
“Miss Jian.”
Jian Qing glanced at them, her eyes traced over the scrapes and callouses on their hands, a hint of a smile flashed in her eyes.
Ah, bare-knuckle fighters, they must be strong, huh?
