Chapter 99: 99, Hold him down for me (Second update)_1

“Let go of me, let go.” Xiang Cheng, who had already lost the use of one arm, was nowhere near a match for the man in black. He was easily hoisted off the ground by his collar.

“Qiu Bo, quick, make her stop. Are you just going to stand by and watch her harm me?” Swinging in the air, Xiang Cheng desperately slapped at the man in black with his remaining arm, begging Qiu Bo for help.

Qiu Bo glanced at Jian Qing’s calm composure, opened his mouth but eventually said nothing.

The man in black was unnaturally strong. Regardless of Xiang Cheng’s struggles, he remained unmovable. He carried Xiang Cheng in front of Jian Qing as if he were a mere chicken, then casually threw him down.

“Thud!”

Xiang Cheng hit the ground before he could react.

The fall was harsh, and Xiang Cheng felt a wave of pain in his bones as he scrambled up from the ground to furiously glare at Jian Qing.

“Jian Qing, this is the An Mansion. The patriarch is still home, you-” Meeting Jian Qing’s deep gaze, Xiang Cheng ran out of breath, “This is no place for your wild behavior.”

With a laugh, Jian Qing said, “What are you afraid of, or do you feel guilty and scared?”

A flash of panic crossed Xiang Cheng’s eyes as he clenched his fists, “Who said I’m scared? Why would I be afraid of you?”

Impossible – he had tucked that thing away in such an unnoticeable place. She couldn’t have found it so quickly.

He had to stay calm; he couldn’t let her bluff him.

As she clapped her hands together, Jian Qing said, “Good, I hope you can maintain that confidence.”

Nobody else interjected; after all, they understood the saying ‘the shot hits the bird that sticks out.’

“I have something you should recognize.” As she spoke, Jian Qing fished a small black object out of her pocket.

If he could have reassured himself earlier, that facade shattered now. As Jian Qing retrieved the object, Xiang Cheng’s pupils dilated, his face blanching.

She had found it.

An Yu and the others stared wide-eyed, unable to recognize what it was.

“A pinhole camera.” Qiu Bo, who was closest to Jian Qing, gasped at the sight of the object in her hand.

His voice wasn’t quiet. An Yu and the others overheard and quickly cast their gaze on Xiang Cheng.

Could it be that Xiang Cheng…?

Suddenly remembering something, Qiu Bo glanced at Xiang Cheng in disbelief.

Could it have been that day?

How could Xiang Cheng be so careless, resorting to such a low, despicable act?

He planted that device in Miss Qing’s room; now even if the patriarch intervened, there would be no saving him.

Examining the pinhole camera in her hand with a faint smile, Jian Qing delighted in the mortified look on Xiang Cheng’s face. “Judging from your reaction, I take it you recognize this item. I must give you credit for being smart enough to plant this in the door frame of the bathroom.”

If it had been anyone else, they might have been fooled.

Too bad for him, his opponent was her.

Upon hearing Jian Qing’s words, everyone looked conflicted. Qiu Bo looked at Xiang Cheng’s pale face with disgust and resignation.

As a member of the An Family, if the patriarch found out about such an underhanded and despicable act, Miss Qing wouldn’t need to do anything – the patriarch himself wouldn’t let him off the hook.

“No, it’s not me, that’s not mine.” Xiang Cheng shook his head vehemently, “Jian Qing, you can’t just accuse me with some random item. Nobody will believe you; that’s not my item.”

With a glint of ice in her smile, Jian Qing chilled the air. “If I dare to say so, wouldn’t I have evidence?”

Meeting Jian Qing’s confident gaze, Xiang Cheng’s heart skipped a beat, panic welling up.

“You…”

“Restrain him.” Jian Qing coldly ordered.
