Chapter 858 -858: Ask Her…
“Shiyu, I’m your mom.” Guan Ya squatted in front of Cao Shiyu, holding her hand.
All Cao Shiyu did was stare at her with wide eyes, looking confused.
In recent days, Cao Shiyu had been like this every day, seemingly not recognizing her or Cao Zhen at all.
When Cao Zhen hurried over, Guan Ya was staring at Cao Shiyu with tears in her eyes. The moment she saw Cao Zhen, she glared at him with fury, “What are you doing here? I’ve already divorced you, and Shiyu has severed her father-daughter relationship with you, get out!”
Cao Zhen ignored Guan Ya and walked straight up to Cao Shiyu, “Shiyu, I’m your dad.”
Cao Shiyu looked at Cao Zhen and then said with a giggly smile, “Sister, Su Hongxing…”
“How could she run off to find Su girl? Didn’t I tell you to watch her closely? Is this how you take care of her?” Cao Zhen turned and looked at Guan Ya with a nasty tone.
“You have the nerve to blame me for not watching her?” Guan Ya shouted at Cao Zhen, agitated.
“Getting angry won’t solve any problems. Let’s first ask the servants to find out why Shiyu specifically went looking for Su girl.” Cao Zhen called the servants over and questioned them in detail.
It turned out the servant had gone out to buy household supplies and had just driven near Lugang Building when they went into the supermarket, only to discover that Cao Shiyu, who had been sitting in the car, was nowhere to be seen.
After searching for a full twenty minutes, they finally found Cao Shiyu in front of Lugang Building.
“It seems Shiyu remembers Su girl,” Cao Zhen said thoughtfully.
If he could get Su Hongxing to accompany Cao Shiyu for a while, it might help with Cao Shiyu’s condition.
But he couldn’t bring himself to ask, nor did he have the face to seek Su Hongxing’s help.
Guan Ya saw Cao Zhen’s abnormal behavior and also understood the meaning of his words. It appeared she would have to seek out Su Hongxing.
The next day, just after Su Hongxing came out of the meeting room and reported her day’s work schedule to Ye Qilan, her phone rang again—it was Guan Ya.
Ye Qilan turned to look at Su Hongxing, “Who’s looking for you?”
“Guan Ya. She’s called several times; if I don’t answer, she might keep calling.” After saying this, Su Hongxing stepped aside to take the call.
“Miss Su, give me a few minutes of your time, please. I need to see you. This time, I have a favor to ask of you. Please, for the sake of the good Cao Zhen once did for you, don’t turn down my request,” Guan Ya said, her voice lacking its previous malevolence.
If it meant healing Cao Shiyu, she would be willing to do anything, let alone show weakness to Su Hongxing.
After hesitating for a moment, Su Hongxing still agreed to meet with Guan Ya.
Ye Qilan insisted on accompanying her to meet with Guan Ya, not feeling at ease. Since Su Hongxing herself was also unsure, she didn’t refuse.
When they arrived at the agreed-upon café, Guan Ya was already there.
Su Hongxing sat down opposite Guan Ya, who looked toward where Ye Qilan had parked and mockingly said, “Ye Qilan really is worried about you, to the point of bringing you here personally. Is he afraid I’m going to eat you up?”
“Ms. Guan, please speak your mind; I have to get back to work this afternoon.” Compared to Guan Ya’s malevolence, Su Hongxing seemed far too composed.
Guan Ya’s eyes were a complex mix as she sized up Su Hongxing.
Su Hongxing resembled Jiang Chengyun, and seeing Su Hongxing was like seeing the Jiang Chengyun of those years. The same pride, the same disdain for everyone.
And yet, here she was, lowering herself to ask Su Hongxing for help.
“You’ve seen Shiyu’s condition. Of all the people, she only remembers you. If you could help, I believe she would get better,” Guan Ya said, her tone softening as she stated her purpose.
