Chapter 217: Chapter 217 Playing games
She handed the phone to Lucas, who looked at the screen intently. He poked at the screen clumsily, often missing the candies or swiping the wrong way, causing the phone to emit a frustrating buzz. "Like this?" he asked, his frustration evident.
Kyra chuckled. "Not quite. Here, let me show you." She took his hand gently, guiding his finger to make the right moves. Lucas’s frown turned into a smile as he finally managed to match some candies.
"Wow, this is harder than it looks," he admitted, laughing.
Vinecnt, watching with interest, asked, "Can I try?" He took the phone from Lucas, who was still grinning from his small victory. Vinecnt was more strategic but still needed guidance.
Kyra leaned in close, her shoulder brushing against his as she demonstrated the game. "You just need to plan your moves a bit ahead," she said softly, her breath tickling his ear. 𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒑𝒖𝙗.𝒄𝒐𝒎
Vinecnt nodded, concentrating on the game. He quickly picked up on the strategy, his expression becoming more focused. "I see," he murmured, his fingers moving more confidently across the screen.
Damon, still intrigued by the phone, observed silently. After a few moments, he asked, "Can you show me another game, something different?"
Kyra nodded, taking the phone back and scrolling through her apps. "How about this one? It’s called ’Temple Run’. You have to navigate a character through a series of obstacles."
She demonstrated how to play, showing how to swipe up to jump, down to slide, and left or right to turn. Damon watched closely, then took the phone to try it himself.
At first, Damon was a bit clumsy, his character often running into obstacles. Kyra moved closer, her hand gently covering his to guide his movements. "Like this," she said, her voice soft.
Damon followed her lead, his focus on both the game and her touch. He quickly got the hang of it, his reflexes sharp. "This is quite exhilarating," he said as he dodged obstacles and collected coins.
Lucas, Vinecnt, and Kyra all laughed together as Damon’s character finally managed a long run. "Not bad for a first-timer," Lucas said with a grin.
Kyra felt a sense of relief and happiness. Sharing these small parts of her world with them made her feel closer to them, and she loved seeing their reactions to something so ordinary to her, yet so extraordinary to them.
After a while, they took a break from the games. Lucas, trying to impress Kyra, attempted another run on Temple Run but kept failing, much to everyone’s amusement. He exaggerated his frustration, making everyone, including Damon, laugh even harder.
After Kyra showed them more features of her phone.
"Everyone, get in close," she said, holding up the phone. "We’re going to take a picture together again."
They all crowded around her, their faces close. Kyra could feel the warmth of their bodies, and her heart raced a little. She clicked the selfie button, capturing their smiling faces. The photo turned out great, and everyone was fascinated by it.
"Let’s try a video," Kyra suggested, switching to video mode. "Just talk and move around like you normally would."
Lucas immediately started making funny faces, while Vinecnt tried to look serious but ended up laughing. Damon, intrigued by the concept, leaned in close to Kyra to get a better view of the screen.
Kyra turned the camera on herself, saying, "This is a video message from all of us, having fun and exploring new things together."
After they finished exploring the games and taking a few videos, Lucas, still curious, asked, "Where do all the selfies go?"
Kyra smiled and opened the photo album app on her phone. "They get saved here," she explained, showing him the gallery of photos. "You can look through all the pictures I’ve taken."
Lucas took the phone, his eyes lighting up as he scrolled through the album. "Wow, this is amazing," he said, laughing at some of the funny faces they had made in the selfies. Damon and Vinecnt leaned in, curious to see the photos as well.
As Lucas continued to scroll down, he suddenly stopped, his eyes widening in surprise. "Wait a minute," he said, pointing at a photo of himself and Vinecnt with swollen noses. "When did you take this?"
Kyra laughed, remembering the incident. "Oh, that was when a mosquito bit your noses while you were sleeping."
Vinecnt looked at the photo, his expression a mix of embarrassment and amusement. "I remember that," he said, shaking his head. "That bloody mosquito was relentless."
Lucas groaned, his cheeks turning a bit red. "I look ridiculous," he said, though he couldn’t help but laugh along with everyone else.
Lucas, still buzzing with excitement from exploring Kyra’s phone, suddenly had an idea. "Hey, why don’t we go outside and play? We can make videos and take more pictures," he suggested, his eyes gleaming with enthusiasm.
Kyra’s eyes lit up at the suggestion. "Wait, I have badminton!" she exclaimed.
Kyra fetched her badminton set from the capsule, and soon they walked outside.
Kyra handed her phone to Lucas with a smile. "Here, Luca. Can you record us playing? I want to capture these moments."
Lucas took the phone eagerly, his excitement visible. "Sure thing! I’ve got this."
They didn’t set up a formal court but found a flat, clear ground near the frozen lake. Kyra explained the basics of badminton to Lucas, Damon, and Vinecnt, demonstrating the proper way to hold the racket and hit the shuttlecock.
"Okay, everyone," Kyra said, holding up the racket. "You need to grip it firmly, but not too tight. Like this." She demonstrated, her hands deftly showing the correct form. "And when you hit the shuttlecock, aim to keep it in the air and within the boundaries we’ve set."
Vinecnt was eager to try. He took the racket from Kyra, his fingers brushing hers. His handsome features were highlighted by the cold, his dark hair contrasting sharply against the snow, and his red eyes gleaming.
"Ready?" Kyra asked, stepping back a little to give him space.
"Ready," Vinecnt replied, his voice steady and calm.
Lucas positioned the phone carefully, aiming it at the area where Kyra and Vinecnt had just been playing.
As Kyra and Vinecnt prepared to continue their game, Lucas hit the record button and stepped back to capture everything.
