Chapter 224: Chapter 224 Sacrifices and world key
"And that’s how we died, but what confuses me is how Frostlyn DNA was found in your world..." her beast said, confusion evident in her voice.
"I am also not sure either! There are many things we have to find out, like who is behind the Ghost Eye group," Kyra replied, her eyes becoming darker. "And How dare they try to kill us? I will never let them go. Aren’t they the same as in my nightmares?" Kyra said as she opened her eyes.
The room felt different now. It was as if the air was charged with a new energy.
Kyra’s heart pounded as she sat up, the memories of her past life as a Frostlyn merging with her current self. She felt stronger, more resolute. The sense of urgency was overwhelming; the Ghost Eye group had to be stopped.
She looked around, her gaze falling on the familiar surroundings of her room. Everything seemed so normal, yet she was anything but.
The weight of her past life, the pain of her beast’s death, and the threat of the Ghost Eye group all pressed heavily on her.
As Kyra’s memories flowed back, she felt the weight of her past life settling in her heart. She remembered the moment she was born from her shell, a newborn beast destined to protect others. Her existence had always been about safeguarding the creatures of Beastworld, a duty she embraced with dedication.
She recalled living in the Beastcity of Valoria, her home was located in a mountain cave with secret underground paths leading to various tribes.
From the mountain’s peak, she could see the entirety of Beastcity, a breathtaking sight that never ceased to fill her with pride and purpose.
One of her most cherished memories was of her best friend, Emi, a gentle deer who could never shift into a human form. Emi relied on Kyra for protection and safe food.
Kyra could still see Emi’s wet brown eyes, full of trust and innocence, the day the shadows brutally ended her life. The memory of Emi’s lifeless body, those eyes that once sparkled with life now dull, pierced Kyra’s heart with sorrow.
Then there was Arlo, her loyal and possessive friend. Arlo was always by her side, never allowing any male beast to come near her. He was fiercely protective, sometimes to a fault, but his love and devotion were undeniable. Kyra remembered his golden eyes, once so full of life, now dead and empty. He had sacrificed himself to save her, fighting off the dark shadows until his last breath.
In her mind, she saw Arlo’s bloodied fingers gently caressing her soft fur, his eyes locking onto hers as he whispered with his last strength, "Your happiness is worth every drop of my blood. Live for both of us."
Kyra hugged him tightly, feeling his life slip away in her arms. She had lost both Emi and Arlo, her dearest friends, in the same terrible struggle. The pain of their loss was almost unbearable, but their sacrifices had kept her alive,
Kyra fought with all her might, determined to protect the world key and honor the sacrifices of her friends. But the dark shadows had obtained a new, terrifying power that could combat even the divine strength of a Frostlyn. She had faced many battles before, but this was unlike anything she had ever encountered.
The shadows were neither fully alive nor fully dead, an eerie presence that seemed to defy the natural order. Each encounter with them left her more drained and desperate for answers. She needed to find out what this power was and how to stop it before it was too late.
Kyra tracked the dark shadows relentlessly, moving through the eerie, haunted forests and across the desolate plains of Beastworld. Each battle left her more battered, but she never gave up.
The memory of Emi’s trusting eyes and Arlo’s dying words drove her forward, giving her the strength to continue until end.
"Thankfully, the world key didn’t fall into their hands. They must have sensed your presence and might try to take you down," her beast continued, the voice filled with urgency. "Those dark beasts are attacking Damon, and you’re part of that organisation. They’re growing so fast, and we need to regain our full power and strength to lead the fight. I can’t bear to see any beast injured or living in hardship. So, I have decided we need to get the world key for ourselves. With it, we can fight off those dark shadows and the entire organization scattered around the world."
"World key... what is that? Is it like an actual key?" Kyra asked, confused.
"No, not exactly," her beast replied. "The world key is a mysterious place, a hidden realm. We will face many difficulties if we go there, but as divine beasts, it might not be too much of a problem for us."
Kyra felt a shiver run down her spine at the thought of this mysterious place. "So, this world key... it’s a realm that holds great power? How do we find it?"
Her beast’s voice softened, tinged with sadness and determination. "It’s not just about finding it, Kyra. The world key is hidden and protected by layers of trials and ancient magic. It’s said to be the source of our power, and only the worthy can access it. We will need to prove ourselves and overcome many obstacles. But once we do, we can harness its power to fight the darkness threatening our world."
Kyra took a deep breath, steeling herself for the challenges ahead. "I won’t let them destroy our world. We’ll find this world key and stop them."
Her beast responded, "Together, we are stronger. We need to train and regain our full strength. We must prepare for the journey ahead. The dark shadows won’t rest, and neither can we."
Kyra nodded, her voice becoming deeper. "Where do we start? Like, where is that hidden place? Was it hard to find?"
"Eldoria, The Eagle Kingdom."
