Chapter 253: Chapter 253 Admiring Kyra
"We should also consider splitting into smaller groups," Kyra added. "Moving together in one large formation might slow us down, especially in harsh weather. Smaller groups can be more agile and less noticeable to the beasts. Each group should have a scout leading the way, while the others provide support. If something happens to one group, the others can react quickly without being caught off guard."
Marc looked thoughtful, his eyes moving to the map as Kyra spoke. The others were nodding along, starting to see the wisdom in her words.
Lucas looked at Kyra with pride.
Damon gaze fixed on Kyra with an intensity that was hard to miss. He watched her with an unblinking stare, his heart racing.
As he took in her serious expression, the way she spoke with conviction and confidence, he found himself captivated. Thoughts swirled in his head, filled with admiration and a deep, unexpected attraction.
How can anyone be so attractive? Damon thought, his heart pounding slightly. When she speaks seriously, she looks so incredibly hot.
Her hazel-blue eyes were intense, filled with focus as she explained her ideas. Her fair hands moved gracefully, emphasizing her points, and the way her long red hair framed her face made her even more captivating in that moment. Every word she spoke carried weight, and it was hard for anyone to look away.
But when he glanced around the room, his eyes locked onto one of the beastmen whose obsessive gaze was fixed on Kyra. Damon’s mood darkened instantly. His oppressive aura flared up without warning, and the beastman shuddered, quickly averting his gaze. Damon kept his eyes on him for a moment longer, ensuring the message was clear before he returned his attention to Kyra.
No one else dared to even glance in her direction after that.
"And lastly," Kyra said, her voice growing firmer, "we need to prepare for the worst. If we do get attacked, we should have a signal system in place to warn the others. Whether it’s by sound, fire, or even using our own abilities, we need a way to communicate quickly across the forest."
Marc finally stood up, crossing his arms over his chest. "You make good points, Kyra," he said, his voice deep and considering. "Setting up base camps, using scouts, moving in smaller groups—it’s all worth considering. You’re right, brute force won’t be enough in a place like this. We need to be smart about how we move."
He looked around the room, addressing the group. "We’ll incorporate Kyra’s suggestions into the plan. We’ll set up base camps as we move, and split into smaller groups to cover more ground. Scouts will take point, and we’ll be cautious in our approach. This won’t be easy, but we’ve faced worse before, and we’ll get through this if we work together."
The warriors murmured in agreement, and Kyra felt a wave of relief wash over her.
Healer suddenly began clapping, breaking the silence, and soon everyone else followed.
Lucas couldn’t contain his grin. His eyes sparkled as he leaned forward in his chair, clapping harder than anyone else. ’That’s my Ky-ky,’ he thought proudly, his chest swelling with affection.
Damon, on the other hand, remained stoic, but the intensity in his gaze softened ever so slightly as he watched Kyra soak in the moment. He knew how strong and capable she was, but seeing her confidence shine through in front of the others stirred something deeper in him.
"Thank you," Kyra murmured, her cheeks warming with a flush of modesty as she quickly sat down.
From across the room, whispers of excitement spread among the warriors. "I can’t believe a female came up with that! So smart!" one beastman murmured. "Her ideas make the plan sound manageable, much easier," another added,
"Oh my god! This female is amazing! Her ideas sound so simple, but they’re filled with strategy and thought," one of the warriors whispered to his friend.
"Yes! I can’t wait to put her plan into action," another one added, their voices tinged with enthusiasm and respect for Kyra.
As the clapping subsided, Marc stepped forward, his face serious but with a hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Well done, Kyra. We will follow your strategy," he announced, his voice steady. "Tomorrow, we begin preparations. Everyone, ready yourselves for what’s to come."
After everyone had left, Marc gave Kyra a rare, approving smile. His stern face softened for a moment, a gesture of quiet respect. The healer and the priest also offered her a warm smile, as if to say they believed in her vision.
"We’ll be off now," Damon said, nodding politely at the leader, healer, and priest. His voice was firm yet polite, showing respect as he gently placed his hand on Kyra’s arm.
Kyra smiled back at them, feeling the warmth of their support before Damon guided her toward the door.
As they walked, Lucas held onto Kyra’s other arm, his grip gentle yet steady. But while his body moved automatically beside her, his mind was a whirlwind of thoughts. He couldn’t help but brood over one troubling question that kept resurfacing in his mind: What if Vincent comes back and finds out that Kyra has accepted Damon?
Lucas’ chest tightened at the thought. Vincent had always been possessive, almost obsessively so, when it came to Kyra. If he came back and realized that she had chosen Damon, how would he react? Lucas knew Vincent’s temper—it was explosive, dangerous even.
His gaze briefly flickered to Kyra, her fiery red hair gently swaying in the evening breeze.
Lucas knew that if it ever came down to a fight between Vincent and Damon, it would be brutal. He wasn’t sure if either of them would come out unscathed.
However, Lucas decided to push those troubling thoughts to the back of his mind, for now at least. He leaned in close to Kyra and whispered, his voice warm and playful, "As usual, you’re amazing, Ky-Ky. I wouldn’t have even thought of something like that... that’s why I’m mega fan of yours," he teased, his breath tickling her ear.
The sudden closeness made Kyra shiver involuntarily, her skin prickling at the sensation.
