Chapter 255: Chapter 255 daily doses of kisses
Damon’s jaw clenched tightly as he stormed into the room, tension radiating off him in waves. His piercing silver eyes darted towards the other males, his irritation barely contained. Lucas followed closely behind, his gaze flickering between the beastmen, sizing them up with thinly veiled amusement.
’Not as handsome as me!’ Lucas mused, his lips twitching into a small smirk. Sure, they were decent-looking—fit with strong bodies—but they lacked the full package. He was the combo: the body and the face. Kyra had no reason to even glance in their direction.
Feeling a surge of confidence, Lucas made his way over to Kyra, flashing her his most charming smile, the one he knew she couldn’t resist. He stepped closer, his eyes twinkling with playful arrogance, hoping to shift her focus back to him.
Damon, meanwhile, stood in the doorway, his eyes narrowing as he watched Lucas’s easygoing charm play out. The tension in his shoulders never eased as he cast a warning glance at the beastmens, daring them to try anything.
Lucas sauntered over, his sharp eyes flickering over the other males with a smirk of amusement. ’Not much competition,’ he thought smugly. When he reached Kyra, he leaned in closer to Kyra, brushing his lips against hers in a light, teasing kiss. With a smirk playing on his lips, he straightened up and winked at her.
"Here’s your daily dose of kisses, honey," he said, loud enough for the others to hear. "We’ll cuddle later, okay?"
Then, with a grin that dripped with arrogance, Lucas straightened up and stretched his arms casually, as if this was something he did every day. He glanced at the warriors and chuckled.
Meanwhile, Damon strode inside, his eyes locking onto Kyra. His movements were smooth yet deliberate as he made his way to her side, the air around him thick with tension.
Kyra looked at Lucas with amused eyes, shaking her head softly but choosing not to say anything. Then, as she caught sight of Damon standing stiffly nearby, she gestured toward him.
"Come here," she said softly, her voice inviting but firm. Damon hesitated for a moment, confused, but he eventually leaned closer, curious about what she wanted.
Before he could question her, Kyra reached up and kissed him on the lips, catching him completely off guard. His body immediately relaxed, the tension melting away as his stoic expression softened. A faint smile tugged at his lips, though he tried his best to hide it.
The room was silent for a moment, and Kyra couldn’t help but chuckle at the look on Damon’s face.
"Let’s start," Kyra said, her tone firm as she looked across the room at the beastmen. Her gaze landed on the one with long black hair, a sharp jawline, and piercing blue eyes. His aura was confident but respectful as he spoke.
"Female, we loved your ideas," he began, his voice steady but admiring. "We’re here to ask for detailed plans—things we should take when we set up camp, and the kind of traps we need to ward off any dangers."
Kyra maintained eye contact with him, her hazel-blue eyes serious as she took in his words. She could tell he was genuinely interested in what she had to say, She nodded thoughtfully.
"Alright," she began, her tone calm but authoritative. "If we’re going to set up camp in dangerous terrain, the first thing we need to consider is shelter. We should focus on locations that naturally provide some defense—caves, large rock formations, or dense areas of trees. These can serve as barriers against weather and predators."
She paused, her mind racing with thoughts, then continued, "As for traps, we’ll need things that blend into the environment—tripwires attached to spears or spikes, traps made from the local flora that can be triggered if something gets too close. We want to keep everything as natural as possible to avoid detection."
The black-haired beastman nodded in agreement, his eyes intent on her as she spoke. The others leaned forward, their attention fully captured by her words.
"We’ll also need to bring supplies like dried meat, water skins, and herbs for healing. Nothing too heavy but enough to sustain us for a while if we’re cut off from the main group," Kyra added. "And make sure we have tools for fire. Keeping warmth at night will be crucial."
Damon stood quietly at her side, his stern gaze softening slightly as he watched her command the room with ease.
The beastmen hung onto her suggestions as if she were the true leader of the pack, their trust in her growing with every minute that passed.
"And, female, you also talked about beast patterns—how they live, how they hunt..." another beastman with silver, metallic hair and sharp black eyes chimed in, his voice curious yet respectful. "So... how does that actually work?"
Kyra turned her gaze toward him, her mind already sorting through the knowledge she’d accumulated during her time in this world. 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓅𝓊𝓫.𝒸ℴ𝓶
"Beasts, just like any predator, follow specific patterns," Kyra began, leaning slightly forward. "They hunt when it’s most advantageous for them—often during dusk or dawn when their prey is least alert. You’ll notice their movement patterns tend to cluster around water sources or areas where their prey frequents. By studying the terrain and the ecosystem, you can predict where they might be, what times are most dangerous, and which places to avoid at certain hours."
The silver-haired beastman nodded, intrigued.
"For example," Kyra continued, "if you know a large predator hunts at night near a water source, it’s crucial to either set camp far from that area or set traps around it to deter them. We can also use their own habits against them—disguising traps near their usual pathways or using bait that attracts them to safer zones away from us."
She paused, then added, "Beasts also leave signs—tracks, broken branches, disturbed dirt. If we can identify those, we can anticipate their movements. The key is to observe and act preemptively. Don’t wait until they’re close enough to attack."
The group listened attentively, their faces lighting up with understanding.
