Chapter 263: Chapter 263 Pathetic plan
It was midnight in a cold, foggy forest. The castle, made of limestone, appeared blurry through the mist. Inside one of the castle’s rooms, Sandra shoved the naked man off her, her movements quick and fueled by rage.
"Damn it, Benjamin!" she screamed, her voice thick with frustration. "If you can’t handle me with other men, then just mate with me!" Her eyes blazed with fury as she glared at him, daring him to respond.
But Benjamin remained unaffected, his face impassive, void of any emotion. "Shut up," he spat coldly, his voice as icy as the winter beyond the foggy castle. His gaze darkened as he stared her down. "I don’t care who you are, and don’t think for a second you can force me into anything. You know what I’m capable of." His words cut through the heavy atmosphere like a blade.
Sandra sneered, crossing her arms as she reclined against the bed, a cruel laugh escaping her lips. "Then I’m done helping you with your pathetic plan! Three years, Benjamin! Three years of failure!" Her laugh was sharp, mocking, as the naked man beside her watched with lust-filled eyes. "Oh wait... no, you’ve been trying since you were born, haven’t you? And what have you achieved?" She threw her head back, her laughter echoing through the room. "The only task you had was to cut off Damon’s wings! But you couldn’t even manage that!"
Benjamin’s expression darkened, his icy aura growing even colder as Sandra’s mocking words echoed in the room. His eyes narrowed into slits, and his jaw tightened. "You think it was that easy?" he spat, his voice sharp and Cold. "If it weren’t for you interfering in my plan three years ago, Damon would be dead by now. Do you have any idea how dangerous he is? Far more than you could ever comprehend."
He stepped closer to her, his cold gaze cutting into her like daggers. "I thought you had one purpose. You were supposed to make Damon fall in love with you, manipulate him, weaken him." He sneered, his disgust evident. "But you’re useless. You couldn’t even accomplish that." 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘱𝘶𝑏.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Sandra flinched under his sharp stare but kept her defiant posture, though her bravado was clearly wavering. Benjamin’s voice dropped low, filled with venom as he hissed, "You better start behaving, Sandra, or I’ll have no choice but to end you myself. You’re not worth anything otherwise."
His words lingered, the threat heavy in the air. There was no warmth, no remorse in his gaze-only cold, calculating malice. The fog outside the castle seemed to press harder against the windows, as if mirroring the intensity inside, while Sandra’s once bold aura faltered under the weight of Benjamin’s icy wrath.
Sandra’s arrogance faltered further under Benjamin’s cold glare. For a moment, the room was silent, filled only with the oppressive tension between them. She opened her mouth, as if to speak back, but no words came out. Her earlier bravado had vanished, replaced by a flicker of fear she couldn’t hide.
Benjamin took a step closer, looming over her. "You think you have any power here, Sandra?" he continued, his voice like steel. "You forget who you’re dealing with. Damon isn’t the only one you should fear. I’ve spent my entire life hunting him, understanding every weakness, every strength. And you... you were supposed to be my weapon, my key to breaking him."
He circled her slowly, his footsteps soft yet deliberate. "But instead, you’ve become a burden. Your failure has cost me years, and yet you stand here, mocking me?" He stopped in front of her, his eyes boring into hers. "Let me remind you of something. Damon’s wings may still be intact, but you won’t be if you cross me again."
The naked male, who had been lingering on the bed, watched in uneasy silence, his lustful expression replaced by uncertainty. Even he could sense the danger radiating from Benjamin. Sandra, too, seemed to shrink under the weight of Benjamin’s fury.
She swallowed hard, trying to muster some semblance of control. "I—I can still be useful," she stammered, her voice losing its edge. "I’ll do whatever it takes. But you can’t kill me—I know things. I can help."
Benjamin smiled then, a chilling smile that didn’t reach his eyes. "Oh, I know you’ll do whatever it takes. Because you have no other choice. But don’t mistake that for mercy, Sandra." He leaned in closer, his breath cold against her skin. "You’re still alive only because I allow it. Keep that in mind the next time you think to challenge me."
He then walked outside coldly. He exhaled slowly, his mind already shifting back to the plan. Sandra may have failed him, but she was right about one thing—he couldn’t afford to keep failing. Damon’s wings were still his greatest challenge, and Benjamin knew that the next attempt would have to be flawless.
Damon was strong, too strong for conventional means, but Benjamin had patience. He had waited for this moment his entire life, and he wouldn’t stop until Damon’s wings were clipped and his power was reduced to nothing.
And if Sandra continued to be a thorn in his side? Well, Benjamin had never been one to let liabilities linger for long.
He walked towards his room where a young male was cleaning diligently. The male had soft brown hair that framed his freckled face, eyes sparkling brown like polished amber, and a wheat-colored skin tone. There was an innocence to him, a purity that made him look even cuter, almost ethereal in his appearance.
Benjamin’s expression softened as it always did when he was around Joy. The sharp edges of his cruel aura dulled slightly, replaced by a gentle facade. "Joy, go and clean the room beside mine," he said meaningfully, his tone casual but laced with hidden intent. "Someone is going to live there soon."
"Okay," Joy replied obediently, his voice light and bright as usual. He adjusted his fur-lined clothes closer around him and walked out of the room, pausing only once to glance back at Benjamin, who was now heading towards his favorite instrument—the piano.
Joy knew better than to touch Benjamin’s things. As kind as he could be, Benjamin had an unspoken rule: never interfere with what was his. And the piano was sacred to him. While Joy adored Benjamin’s rare gentleness, he knew full well that crossing the invisible boundaries Benjamin set would bring about the cold, wrathful side of him in an instant.
