Chapter 330: Chapter 330 First night and fight
Everything seemed to happen in a blur. The rituals for the females to become pregnant were performed, and soon, Kyra was blessed by everyone as news spread that she was pregnant.
But despite the congratulations, neither Kyra nor her mate had a smile on their faces. The air between them was tense, filled with unspoken emotions.
Then came another shock. Silas, standing before the crowd, announced that he was relinquishing his responsibilities to Alessandro. He would no longer be the king of the Eagle Kingdom but instead live as a normal male, following his mate.
This declaration stunned Kyra and everyone else. They had no idea Silas was the King of the Eagle Kingdom. King Silas, now stepping down from the throne.
Alessandro, taking on the role, promised that Silas could return to power whenever he liked. But Silas shook his head, firmly stating he wanted no part of that responsibility anymore. He only wanted to live a simple life.
After the gathering, everyone left, and Kyra and her mates returned home. But as they entered, an odd, weird silence hung in the air. It felt strange, as if something was left unresolved, and no one seemed to know how to break the tension.
Simon didn’t stay, knowing they needed time together, so he left for his brother’s house.
"Little thing, tonight is our first night..." Damon said, hugging Kyra tightly, his eyes dark with emotions.
"Stop! It’s my first night with my love," Silas interrupted, his voice full of affection, staring at Kyra with a lovesick expression.
"You—don’t you dare! You just became her mate by taking advantage of her kindness. Don’t think she’ll accept you as her mate," Damon snapped, his anger flaring.
Silas pushed him by the chest, leaning forward to challenge him. Damon, however, wasn’t the type to back down. His eyes locked on Silas in defiance.
Lucas and Vincent stood by Damon’s side, equally furious.
"Yeah! We don’t know anything about you, and you dared to use such a disgusting method to become Ky-Ky’s mate!" Lucas said angrily, his fists clenched.
"And no matter how powerful you are, if you try anything, I’ll swallow you whole," Vincent added coldly, his intense eyes glaring at Silas.
"Exactly! We’ll kill you, and I’ll dig a hole in the ground to bury your body," Lucas snapped.
"And we’re not going to let you off easy," Damon growled, his voice full of warning.
Silas threw his head back and laughed. "Oh, I’m so scared," he said mockingly. "You have no idea—I could kill all of you with a snap of my fingers."
As the tension rose, Kyra, looking completely bored, stood there with an expressionless face, watching the childish display.
"Why are you all fighting about the first night? Why don’t you just fight each other if you’re so eager?" Kyra said coldly as she walked past them.
She turned toward Oceanus, her voice calm. "Me and Oceanus are going to spend time outside together—like a date. You all can stay here and fight, fight."
Her eyes remained icy as she pulled Oceanus by the arm, who looked utterly shocked.
"Let’s go," Kyra said, ignoring the others. As she carefully climbed down the ladder, Oceanus, still stunned, followed closely behind.
"Be careful, star," Oceanus said softly, his voice filled with concern.
As they walked, Oceanus glanced at Kyra with a soft smile. "Where do you want to go? I can’t carry you on my back like Lucas or Damon, and I don’t have a tail like Vincent to wrap around you," he teased, his deep, pretty eyes lowering slightly in the night.
Kyra chuckled, her night vision picking up every detail of his face. "It’s fine... we can walk nearby. Isn’t the Sapphire River close by? Let’s go there," she said softly.
Oceanus extended his webbed claws, and Kyra smiled down at his hand before taking it, walking side by side. The night was peaceful, the sound of crickets filling the air. Moonlight shimmered above, while fireflies buzzed softly around them. Their steps padded gently on the mossy floor, the sky above them twinkling with stars.
Kyra, feeling the warmth between them, closed the distance and glanced at his handsome side profile. The moonlight highlighted his gentle smile. His laugh was soft but enchanting, and for a moment, it made her heart race. She swallowed hard, feeling her throat tighten.
"You know," he began, kicking a small stone in their path, "fighting is common when you have five mates. But instead of running away, maybe you should try to manage them." He laughed lightly again.
Kyra sighed, her eyes reflecting the soft glow of the moon. "It’s overwhelming. I love Lucas, Vince, and Damon. Now, with Silas... I don’t even know him well. That’s why I’m not going to accept any more mates."
Oceanus stopped for a moment, his voice almost a whisper. "What about me?"
They reached the Sapphire River, its waters shimmering under the moonlight. He spotted a grassy spot nearby and gently guided her there, still holding her hand as they sat down. The quiet rush of the river mixed with the sounds of the night, but their joined hands kept a silent connection.
As they sat under the stars, the night seemed even more magical.
The soft glow of the moonlight bathed everything in a silvery hue. The fireflies danced around them, their light flickering like tiny stars in the air, while the gentle sound of the flowing river created a soothing backdrop. Kyra leaned back slightly, letting the calm of the night settle over her.
Oceanus was still holding her hand, his grip firm yet tender, as if he never wanted to let go. His thumb brushed against her skin in slow, gentle circles, sending a small shiver down her spine. She glanced at him, noticing how his turquoise eyes were fixed on the river, but there was a softness in them, a calmness that drew her in.
"You know," Oceanus said quietly, his voice almost lost in the night breeze, "I’ve always felt like the odd one out with the others. Lucas, Vincent, and Damon—they’re so sure of their place in your heart. But me... I’ve always wondered if you see me the same way. I know we just like met now."
"You know," Oceanus said quietly, his voice nearly drowned out by the night breeze, "I’ve always felt like the odd one out among the others. Lucas, Vincent, and Damon—they’re so sure of their place in your heart. But me... I’ve always wondered if you see me the same way. I know we just met a few days ago, and feelings take time to grow."
