Chapter 85: Chapter 85 Accept more Mates or leave (1)

After Kyra made them breakfast, she helped Lucas eat and drink water. She also wanted to bathe him, but he refused.

When Lucas fell asleep, Kyra rubbed her temples, realizing she had forgotten to tell him about the council meeting.

As she walked into the living room, she heard a knock at the door. Opening it, she found Mia standing there, waving cheerfully. "Hi," Mia said, her smile bright.

"Hi! Mia, why are you standing there? Please come inside," Kyra invited, but Mia hurriedly shook her head.

"Kyra, remember, today is the council meeting. You have to attend since Lucas is injured. Don’t worry, I’ll take you there, and Pablo will take care of Lucas, right?" Mia said, glancing at Pablo, who nodded in agreement.

Kyra smiled at Pablo, her cheeks flushing slightly when she noticed the hickey on his neck. Embarrassed, she looked away and saw that all of Mia’s mates bore similar marks.

"Oh, come on, Kyra. You’re such a shy one. You’ll have your day too when you—" Mia teased, but Kyra covered her mouth with her hand, glaring at her, which made Mia burst into laughter.

"Okay, okay, shy Kyra, we have to go. Stop blushing and sit on my mate’s back!" Mia said, waving her hands. Kyra nodded, still blushing, and prepared to leave for the council meeting.

The council meeting was held near the Partich house, under a bright sun. Kyra’s heart almost jumped when she saw the crowd gathered. Partich sat under the shade of a willow tree with two elder males. As Kyra arrived, sitting on Mia’s mate, everyone looked at her.

She climbed down and walked forward with Mia and her mates following. Kyra spotted Gina and her husbands standing there, Gina’s worried expression making Kyra even more nervous. She had a bad feeling.

"Oh, the shameless female is here! Don’t you feel ashamed to ride on someone else’s mate?" Sally taunted with a smirk.

Kyra looked at her coldly. "Unlike someone who can’t stop bitching for a while," she retorted.

Sally gritted her teeth and turned to Partich. "Partich, you see how arrogant she is. Tell her how to behave. If she wants to live in the Silver Wolf tribe, she needs to accept more mates," Sally demanded.

"Shh!" Partich raised his hand, silencing Sally. He looked at Kyra with authority. "Do you know why I called you?" His voice was firm, though he didn’t want to be harsh on Lucas’s mate.

Kyra shook her head. Gina walked over, holding Kyra’s hands as she faced Partich.

Partich sighed. "Kyra, since you want to live in the Silver Wolf tribe, you have to accept more males. I’m not pressuring you, but for your own safety," he explained.

"I understand your concern, but let me think about this." Kyra replied, her tone turning cold. She felt anger rising. She knew this world was different, but they couldn’t force her to take more mates. Even if it was for her safety, it was her right to decide who she wanted in her life. 𝒏𝙤𝙫𝒑𝙪𝙗.𝙘𝒐𝙢

An older male beside Partich spoke up, his face filled with displeasure. "What is there to think about? Just accept mates and give birth to cubs for our tribe."

"So, you’re saying I should just accept mates and give birth to cubs?" Kyra asked, her eyes turning cold.

"Yes, accept males and give birth to cubs." the older man repeated, nodding.

Kyra was done talking. "Why do you think I would do that just because you’re all telling me? As I said, I will think about it."

"Kyra is still not an adult. Why are you all pressing this matter? Let the child make her own decision," Wilson said coldly, turning to Kyra. "Don’t worry, child. If you don’t want to accept more mates, you don’t have to. You can take mates when you like someone or are ready."

Kyra smiled gratefully. "Thank you." she said softly, and Wilson returned her smile.

"No! This female can’t stay here if she doesn’t accept more mates! She’s very selfish. Who will take care of Lucas and make her food? I’m afraid Lucas will die because of this female if there is no other male to help," Sally said angrily.

Partich, who cared deeply about Lucas, thought Sally might be right. "I think you all forget why we gathered. Are we not going to discuss why Lucas and that wolf fought?" Kyra said expressionlessly.

"Why do we need to discuss it? It was just combat between two males. We’re here because you have to decide if you want to stay in the Silver Wolf tribe. You have to accept at least two more males," another elder said firmly.

Her eyes turned dark, her face losing all gentleness. "I still don’t get why I need to accept mates to live in this tribe. I already accepted Lucas."

"Because you’re a weak female," one of the elders said, rolling his eyes. "You females can’t even comb your own hair. You just wait for males to feed and mate with you. Don’t talk nonsense, or else get out of the tribe with YOUR MALE LUCAS," he finished angrily.

"What the heck are you saying?" Gina shouted, startling even Partich. He didn’t actually want them to leave. Lucas was a warrior of their tribe, soon to advance to level five, and Kyra was more beautiful than most females. Losing them would be a great loss.

Kyra’s hands clenched as she was about to burst with anger.

"Hahaha! Kyra is a weak female? What a joke! You don’t know she actually went to a castle full of snakes to save Lucas, and he came out alive. What nonsense to say she’s weak." It was Atlas, the one who had dropped Kyra at the castle back then. As everyone looked at him, he flipped his white curls around his fingers. "I’m saying this because all I see is everyone pressuring and threatening her. With her value and intelligence, she can live anywhere and in any tribe. It’s not like you all haven’t seen that even the Feral King came to meet her personally."

"But she still has to accept more mates," one of the elders insisted.

"Enough!" a deep voice shouted from behind.
