Chapter 181: Chapter 180: The Immortal Body

Chapter 181 -180: The Immortal Body

Chaoyang withdrew his consciousness and then used the sensing ability of the wishing power threads to call Dane and Judy to Paradise Base, “You go to West Coast Beach to find the Executive Priest of the Mechanical Sect and tell her that the Heretical Cult might launch an attack directly on the Lord’s mansion. Ask her to immediately support and defend the city guards stationed there!”

“Now?” Dane couldn’t help but feel surprised. After all, in his eyes, tonight seemed no different from any other night, so why would those lunatics suddenly dare to attack the Lord’s mansion? However, the one informing him was the messenger of the Paradise Master, so after a second of hesitation, he immediately concurred, “Alright, I’ll go find them.”

“And what about me?” Judy asked.

“You go inform Mr. Xue to gather the defense team and prepare for battle. Also, notify Jenny that something big might happen in the city. If any civilians want to enter the sanctuary to seek refuge, stop them. Don’t let anyone barge in. We will only accept patients.”

“Understood!” she replied crisply.

The Divine Envoy who called himself the Order of Causality might have been exaggerating, but in such times, it was better to be safe than sorry – judging from the number of nobles and rich that had come aboard for the event, it was evident that the followers of the Evil God had already extended their reach into all corners of the city.

After the two had left, Chaoyang stood up and walked toward the underground storage room.

There were still about a dozen prepared bodies there.

He didn’t care who the new Aibuvich really was, nor did he care whether the other party was still alive.

Because players of Paradise were the real “immortals”.

Ailuodi hovered in the air, the Gale in her hand had gathered into spinning blades!

Just a few seconds after stepping on deck, she felt enveloped by a strange aura; the sea breeze no longer felt cold and fresh but became somewhat viscous, as if she had plunged into a pool of sludge. Consequently, she didn’t continue forward with the others but instinctively stepped back two paces.

This retreat made the sea breeze flow more smoothly, but the sensation of weirdness didn’t disappear right away, as though she was still in some invisible trap. Even stranger was that she reminded her teammates several times, but they seemed deaf, completely ignoring her warnings.

Having no choice, she had to utilize her Gift of Awakening and took to the skies.

From above, Ailuodi faintly saw a red dome-shaped light circle, covering almost three-quarters of the deck, with the epicenter not coming from the Divine Envoy but somewhere along the central axis of the deck. Unfortunately, she scanned the area and found no abnormalities on the deck itself.

But none of that mattered anymore.

Especially since she had realized something important after witnessing Anthony and the others letting their imaginations run wild – that her resistance to the brain-like creatures was stronger than her companions’. It might have been that the body’s strength significantly increased after the Gift of Awakening, or perhaps her will was stronger. Either way, it meant she could last longer on the deck area.

And it only took her a second to split open their heads!

Ailuodi took a deep breath and, in the instant her wings closed, she lunged at the enemy.

At that very moment, Zhang Zhiyuan was being bitten in the throat by a crawling brain.

The waves slapping the ship’s hull seemed to freeze, and the howling wind came to a complete stop. Like a bolt of lightning, she aimed for the enemy at the stern, her Gale Sword radiating a rainbow of light!

Even the deck, under the cover of night, was illuminated with a splendid array of colors.

From the sky, diving until she reached the enemy’s head, it took the blink of an eye. The Divine Envoy’s gaze was completely focused on Zhang Zhiyuan and did not even lift their head to glance at the night sky. In the instant that the rainbow light cleaved through the darkness, the Gale Sword had already reached the Divine Envoy’s head!

Ailuodi indeed felt that inexplicable resistance, but with the impact of the Speed of Wind, she still precisely controlled the Gale to slice into the enemy’s body. The sharp airstream exploded continuously within the Divine Envoy, opening a massive gash from the neck down to the waist, not only splitting the spine in two but also mashing the heart, lungs, intestines, and other organs into pieces!

No one could survive such a slashing.

A trace of astonishment flickered in the Divine Envoy’s eyes.

Then his upper body fell backward, hanging by a flap of skin barely still connected to his two legs, his blood spraying everywhere.

To prevent the enemy from faking death like Aibuvich, she chopped his lower half into pieces as well. The stern of the boat soon turned into a slaughterhouse, the Divine Envoy’s minced flesh scattered all over.

However, the thick sensation in the air didn’t disappear; instead, it became even stronger!

Ailuodi finally realized that this abnormal halo was independent of the Divine Envoy’s abilities, and could take effect whether he was dead or alive!

Since the center of the halo was hidden inside the deck, there was no need for her to search for it—Ailuodi summoned the Gale Sword once again, intending to hack the stern deck and the lower cabin into smithereens!

“End this!”

The moment the girl swung down her wind blade, two black strips lashed out from behind, one piercing her abdomen, the other wrapping around her sword-holding hands.

What?

“I can’t let you destroy the emblem my lord has bestowed upon me…” The man’s metallic voice sounded as if it were right by her ear.

Ailuodi turned her head in disbelief, only to see the Divine Envoy she had chopped to pieces rapidly regenerating! The chunks of flesh flew back to him, reassembling his limbs, while the black strips were enveloped by the flesh, seemingly forming his new skeleton.

“As long as my lord protects me, I am undying,” the Divine Envoy said, grinning ferociously—even when he had only half a face. “Who exactly are you? Why do you have wings?”

Ailuodi tried to break free from her bindings, but the black strips around her hands were immovable like iron clamps, and even the slightest movement in her pierced abdomen brought her intense pain. She had only tried a few times when sweat drenched her back.

The Divine Envoy lifted the arms he had hung her by, and she immediately felt as though her abdomen were being torn apart, the pain making her cry out involuntarily.

“No need to speak, soon you will die here, and your soul will serve my lord,” he said softly. “Don’t be afraid, the Great Fusion is the fate of all; you are merely reaching the other side earlier than others.”

“Pah!”

Ailuodi spat at the not yet fully restored face of her attacker, even landing saliva on his brain.

By then, she had been on the deck for almost a minute, and the itching at the back of her head became unbearable, making her want to scratch it desperately.

Knowing her time was running out, she prepared to risk tearing her belly to make one last gamble.

Just then, a mist suddenly appeared in the center of the deck! It spread out, quickly covering the entire stern!

That instant, Ailuodi felt that nauseating stickiness completely vanish, and the itching at the back of her head subsided too! Although she didn’t know the reason, this was undoubtedly the best chance to break free. The girl bent her knees and fiercely kicked at her enemy, swinging her body backward!

The hanging position finally changed; she flew into the air as if on a swing, with her hands once above her head now serving as the pivot for rotation. Not until her feet were higher than her head did she complete the transition from hanging to a slashing posture. The wild wind gathered again into a cutting edge, shredding the Divine Envoy’s reformed body for the second time.

The black strips loosened their hold on her.

Taking advantage of this momentum, she also pulled the other black strip out of her stomach!
