Chapter 733: Generous Investment Feedback, Preparations Before the Summoning (II)

After finishing the memory scan, a flicker of surprise flashed across Chen Chu’s eyes. "So, this place is only a little over two hundred thousand kilometers from the Morkaya Empire?"

The frontlines between the human race and the Purgatory Clan were over four million kilometers from their rear strongholds—a distance caused by the last invasion by Heavenly King Jiuyou and the others.

That four million kilometers was the distance to the nearest of the eight demon empires, the Dark Demonic Morkaya Empire. The other seven were scattered in every direction, each with an unfathomably vast territory.

The furthest one from humanity lay tens of millions of kilometers away. That was the scale of a race that had developed for over a hundred thousand years.

Though the Purgatory True Demons lacked the numbers to occupy all of their territory, each empire ruled dozens of alien civilizations, their influence extending across an unimaginable range.

The most powerful empire was said to control over ten million kilometers of space, ruling over hundreds of civilizations, and had been waging war against another powerful civilization for over a thousand years.

If not for the countless dangerous forbidden zones across the mythical world, and the fact that most regions were unfit for habitation or reproduction—rendering transport and communication inconvenient—the human race would’ve long since been flattened by sheer numbers.

On top of that, the two empires currently at war with the humans were actually considered the weakest among the eight, often excluded by alliances formed by the other six.

All of this information was locked away by the upper echelons of the Federation. Only those at the king level and above had clearance; if the public ever found out, despair would spread like wildfire.

The gap was simply too great.

After finishing the information extraction, Chen Chu narrowed his eyes slightly. "I just killed thirty-two of them... which means two managed to escape."

Boom!

High above, tens of thousands of meters in the sky, a golden sun ten kilometers wide blazed across the heavens. It radiated endless light and heat, illuminating the night sky as it sped toward a rift in the earth.

Under this blazing sun, countless desert creatures scattered in terror: massive single-horned lizards over ten meters long, desert pythons stretching dozens of meters, and Sinosauropteryx-like beasts[1].

Among these panicked creatures, a transparent phantom hid beneath the belly of a twenty-meter-long two-headed lizard. Subconsciously, it glanced up at the "sun" in the sky.

In that instant, a cold voice rang in its ear.

"Thirty-third."

Boom!

A golden beam of flame, several meters wide, pierced through heaven and earth. The ground exploded, and a massive fireball hundreds of meters in size slowly rose into the air, surrounded by a ring of white shockwaves.

The searing blast stirred up a fierce gale, sending clouds of yellow sand and terrified beasts flying in every direction.

After instantly annihilating that Death Priest, Chen Chu quickly crossed thousands of kilometers, appearing at the edge of the frozen forbidden zone. The sun dipped westward, falling from the sky at more than ten times the speed of sound.

Boom!

The earth within several kilometers erupted. Dirt and shattered rock mixed with molten lava flew in all directions.

Surrounded by burning golden flames, Chen Chu strode forward, leaving behind a molten trail as he approached a mountain. At its base was the mouth of a crevice, over a kilometer long and a hundred meters wide, extending deep into the earth.

It hadn’t originally been so massive. In the Death Priest’s memory, it was only a crack in the mountainside, barely ten meters long.

However, when Alekriel entered, his goal had been the complete annihilation and corruption of the Tyrannosaur Race, so he acted with arrogance, forcibly prying the mountain wide open.

Phew!

Chen Chu exhaled a breath of searing heat, suppressing the urge to charge through and go on a slaughtering rampage through the Purgatory Clan’s rear.

It wasn’t time yet. His current strength wasn’t enough to rampage through the core territory of the empire. He would have to wait until the Destructive Dragon Emperor awakened and broke through to the titan level.

When that time came, even if he encountered a demon god-level being, he could summon the Dragon Emperor’s true form to hold it off, giving his main body a chance to escape.

Boom!

Centered around Chen Chu, endless dark void energy mixed with gray death power exploded outward like a tidal wave, surging into the cave.

In no time, the area within ten kilometers of the opening was shrouded in darkness. The power of death and void laws flooded over a hundred kilometers deep into the fissure, transforming it into a man-made death zone.

With two high-level laws interwoven here, even mythical-level powerhouses faced the risk of death if they entered. Anyone below the mythical level would die instantly upon contact.

Just then, a massive black ore, over ten meters in size, appeared in Chen Chu’s hand. Golden flames roared from his palm.

Soon, the black ore melted into liquid and gradually reshaped into a stele ten meters tall. It was engraved with the simple rune of "Suppress,” imbued with a sliver of Chen Chu’s divine soul and will.

Boom!

The stone stele landed at the cave’s entrance, shaking the ground.

From now on, anyone attempting to pass through here would be immediately detected by Chen Chu. This was a precaution in case a demon-king-level powerhouse attempted to sneak in.

Even though the Death Priest’s memory showed Alekriel and the others entering covertly, without alerting the higher-ups, Chen Chu still chose to be cautious.

After all, Alekriel was the son of the demon god Deorus; his death could potentially trigger a bloodline response.

There was also one Death Priest still unaccounted for.

While Chen Chu sealed the cave, Yan Ruoyi sat cross-legged at the edge of the spatial rift, silver light flickering around her and covering an area over eight hundred meters wide.

"There’s a human here... and a rift leading to the human world." In the darkness of the distant forest, a translucent phantom lurked, its eyes lighting up as it stared at Yan Ruoyi.

If I can sell this information back home, it’ll be enough to earn me the vast resources needed to break through to the demon king level—

Just then, a roar shook heaven and earth. "Damn demon! You dare to sneak in here? Courting death!"

Boom!

A spiked mace a kilometer long came crashing down. Purple energy rings surrounded it, compressing space into solid waves and sending shockwaves rippling outward.

Because of its excitement, the Death Priest had leaked a trace of its aura, and Kavadora immediately picked up on it.

With a single blow, a thousand-meter-tall stretch of mountainous terrain collapsed, the forest exploded, and amid the howling wind and smoke, a black shadow blasted out low along the ground, radiating the aura of a late-stage Ninth Demonic Mark cultivator.

Yan Ruoyi shouted, "Kavadora! Leave that one alive for questioning!"

"No need." A cold voice echoed from the sky. In the next instant, the now-reverted Chen Chu appeared behind the fleeing figure. A bolt of piercing blue lightning exploded from his hand.

Boom!

The Death Priest didn’t even have time to unleash his true form before being instantly shattered by a Divine Thousand-Tribulation Lightning compressed a hundredfold, crushed in one blow.

As Chen Chu walked over, Yan Ruoyi’s expression was grave. "Chen Chu, how is the situation?"

A faint smile appeared on Chen Chu’s face. "It’s been resolved. The Purgatory Clan invaded this place through an underground tunnel that passed beneath the forbidden zone.

"But the invading demon king was extremely powerful. He quickly wiped out the other Tyrannosaur Tribes, including the Warlord."

Yan Ruoyi was shocked. "The Tyrannosaur Warlord, a being at the heavenly-king level, is dead? Then that demon king...?"

Chen Chu replied casually. "I’ve already killed him, along with thirty-four infiltrating Death Priests, and the four corrupted Tyrannosaur Kings."

Yan Ruoyi exhaled slowly. "As expected of you."

Chen Chu turned his gaze to the ruined world behind him. "It's safe here now, but there’s no reason to remain. Let’s head back."

Kavadora lowered his head. "Yes, my lord."

Within just a day or two, the entire Tyrannosaur Race had been reduced to only him and a few hundred thousand survivors from his tribe.

If that rift hadn’t appeared, and he hadn’t gone to conquer those "natives," entering the homeland of the Supreme God by chance and then surrendering, he very likely wouldn’t have survived this calamity either.

The black rift trembled as Chen Chu, Yan Ruoyi, and Kavadora returned once more to the Blue Planet. Immediately, the advanced cultivators standing guard outside all let out a collective sigh of relief.

"Greetings, my lord," came a respectful salutation.

Li Qingtian stepped forward with a solemn expression. "My lord, what’s the situation over there?"

"It’s been handled."

Li Qingtian exhaled in relief. "That’s good."

The aliens who had crossed through earlier brought news of the situation on the other side. Li Qingtian had promptly cleared the area and deployed precision weapons aimed at the passage.

As a further precaution, they had even armed a high-yield crystalline hydrogen bomb. Its explosive yield, in the tens of millions of tons, would be enough to destroy the entire passage in an instant.

Chen Chu glanced at the crowd of several hundred thousand watching from a distance. "General Li, I’ll leave the matter of resettling the aliens to you. I’m going to convene a kings' meeting. And those who’ve been watching the spectacle... they’ve seen enough. Have them disperse."

"Yes, my lord."

While Li Qingtian turned to issue orders, Chen Chu looked toward Kavadora. "I’ve left two safeguards behind, but for now, Kavadora, you’ll remain here and stand guard."

"Yes, my lord." The hundred-meter-tall Kavadora responded respectfully.

Yan Ruoyi asked with a trace of confusion, "Chen Chu, why not just destroy the passage? That way, even if another demon king shows up, it won’t matter."

Chen Chu smiled faintly. "This passage still has its uses, I can’t destroy it just yet."

"You want to—" Yan Ruoyi’s expression changed as she thought of something, but before she could ask, Chen Chu simply smiled and disappeared.

1. Sinosauropteryx was a genus of small therapods that had proportionally short arms and long tails, and lived in what is now Northeastern China during the early Cretaceaus period. They are most famous for the fact that some of their pigmentation had been preserved in their fossils, allowing scientists to determine what colors and patterns they had when they were alive. ☜
