Chapter 34 - 34: Sasori vs Granny Chiyo
As Sasori's words echoed, his fingers danced, chakra threads shimmering like strands of light in the air.
His gaze locked onto Rasa and Chiyo—eyes gleaming, smile wicked.
"Let me show you the true power of this puppet," he said softly, then called out:
"Magnetic Release — Iron Sand Shigure!"
The chakra threads twisted sharply. The puppet of the Third Kazekage moved with uncanny precision, forming hand seals in an instant.
Across from him, Chiyo's breath caught. Her eyes widened.
He retained the Kekkei Genkai...?
The Third Kazekage's signature ability, preserved even after death—turned into a puppet.
Unthinkable.
But she had no time to dwell on the horror.
A low rumble filled the air.
Suddenly, a wave of pitch-black sand surged around the puppet, forming a towering mass that swallowed half the sky.
The iron sand pulsed, then sharpened.
Countless black needles formed midair—sleek, deadly, and aimed right at them.
Fwoosh!
The needles rained down like a deadly storm.
"Move!" Rasa barked, and in one swift motion, raised his right hand.
"Magnetic Release — Placer Gold!"
A golden torrent erupted from the ground, glowing under the moonlight. It shimmered like treasure but moved with lethal intent, forming a solid wall before them.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The iron needles struck the golden barrier with shrieking force, but none broke through. The clash of magnetism crackled across the air.
Zeldris, standing to the side, whistled.
"Holy crap... That's all gold?" His eyes sparkled. "Scorpion, forget the mission—we're filthy rich!"
"..."
Sasori glanced at him, clearly unimpressed.
Still thinking about money? Even in the middle of a battle? This guy really never changes.
After a tense ten seconds, the storm of needles ceased. The wall of gold collapsed into glittering dust.
Sasori narrowed his eyes.
So... Rasa also wields magnetic release. Just like the Third.
He grinned, pulse quickening with excitement. This was going to be fun.
Across the field, Rasa met Sasori's stare with narrowed eyes.
"You two," he growled, "aren't leaving this place alive."
"I'll deal with you myself—"
Before he could finish, Chiyo stepped forward and cut him off.
"I'll take Sasori," she said coldly. "You handle the silver-haired brat."
"But Lady Chiyo—"
"Don't forget who taught him puppetry."
Her tone brooked no argument.
Rasa hesitated, then nodded. His eyes flicked to Zeldris with renewed focus.
Sasori had heard every word—and chuckled.
"So, Granny," he said, voice low, "you're finally willing to raise your hand against me?"
"I thought you couldn't bear to hurt your precious grandson."
Chiyo didn't answer.
Her expression was stone. No hint of affection remained.
"Enough talk. Come with me."
She turned and darted into the distance without waiting for his reply.
Sasori blinked—then smirked, casting one last glance at Zeldris.
The latter gave him a small nod and a shrug, as if to say, Go have your fun.
With that, Sasori vanished after her.
The battlefield split.
Now, only three remained.
Gaara cowered in the shadows, frozen in fear. His breath came in shallow gasps, body trembling.
The carnage, the power on display—it was all too much. 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓅𝓊𝓫.𝒸ℴ𝓶
Rasa caught the pitiful sight of his son and scowled.
Pathetic.
He turned his attention to Zeldris, voice cold and resolute.
"No matter who sent you... your mission ends here."
"You may have made it this far, but you'll leave empty-handed."
He narrowed his eyes. "Tell me who hired you, and I might let you live."
Zeldris laughed.
The sound was light, amused—and laced with mockery.
"Is this what all your Kazekages are like?" he said, grinning.
"Full of pride until the very end?"
He took a step forward, casually brushing dust from his cloak.
"You're forgetting something," he added, voice turning sharp. "Your Third Kazekage had that same confidence."
"And now? He's standing beside me. As a puppet."
Rasa flinched.
What?!
"You lie," he said quickly, though doubt cracked through his voice.
Zeldris tilted his head, that mocking smile never fading.
"We'll see how cocky you are after this."
Without another word, Rasa's eyes blazed with fury.
"I'll make you talk—after I've broken every bone in your body."
"Magnetic Release — Golden Burial!"
Gold sand surged forth like a tidal wave, rushing straight at Zeldris with crushing force.
Zeldris chuckled.
"Well then..."
His hands rose, the air around him beginning to shimmer with pressure.
"Let's play."
