Chapter 235 - Cavendish's Rage
Three days drifted by, and the Sabaody Archipelago bustled with life.
The Peace Band was ready for their last concert on the Grand Line tour, a grand finale to their musical journey.
The G-5 Marine Branch had been waiting in Sabaody for days, eager for Roya's return. As soon as they spotted him, they surged forward like a tidal wave.
"Sir!"
"Lady Yamato!"
Lu Yun, Roya's ever-faithful adjutant, wrapped her arms around him, tears streaming down her face. The past six months had felt incredibly empty without him.
Beside her, Speed shyly tried to hug Lady Yamato, but Yamato brushed her aside, leaving her feeling lost and out of place. Speed walked on eggshells every day, terrified that her true identity would be revealed.
"Roya Boss!"
The other Marines were just as eager for a hug. In Roya's absence, they'd felt adrift, unable to find their rhythm.
Simply put, life had become incredibly dull!
"Roya Boss, when are you coming back to G-5? We miss you like crazy!"
"I'm still enjoying my vacation. I'll be back in another three or four months," Roya sighed, at a loss for words.
Can't these guys just enjoy the peace and quiet for once?
The Marines' attention quickly shifted to Uta, surrounding her with what they thought were "friendly" smiles.
"Uta-chan, we're your biggest fans!"
"Thank you!" Uta replied cheerfully, unfazed by the rowdy group.
Roya, with Lu Yun in tow, found a quiet cafe. He casually bought a newspaper and asked, "How has G-5 been while I was gone?"
"The fortress is almost finished. Smoker got promoted to Vice Admiral. Other than that, not much has changed," Lu Yun said, giving a concise summary.
Not much could change in less than a year, especially with Smoker in charge. Unlike Roya, Smoker wasn't one to cause trouble.
The Glasses Girl then produced an invitation card.
"Sir, the Big Mom Pirates sent this Tea Party invitation a few days ago. It's probably about Caesar. Please be careful."
"No need to worry," Roya said, a slight smile playing on his lips as he took the invitation.
Big Mom's Tea Party was notorious in the underworld, a symbol of the extreme danger that awaited anyone who dared venture into Totto Land.
Attending was incredibly risky, but refusing the invitation would come at a terrible cost.
Totto Land would retaliate, not just against the invitee, but against their family and friends as well.
If he didn't go, Totto Land might target his subordinates, even attacking the G-5 Branch. 𝖓𝔬𝔳𝔭𝔲𝔟.𝖈𝖔𝔪
The Four Emperors were not known for their kindness!
Before he obtained the Rumble-Rumble Fruit Power, going to Totto Land would have been incredibly dangerous, but now, Roya was actually looking forward to experiencing Linlin's power firsthand.
Roya flipped through the newspaper, a smile gracing his lips as he saw the Peace Band's photo on the front page. Shaking his head, he casually asked, "Are there any notable rookies among this year's pirates?"
"There's a rookie named Cavendish," Lu Yun replied, handing him Cavendish's bounty poster.
Cavendish was the only rookie this year with a bounty exceeding 100 million Berries. Nicknamed "Pirate Noble Son," he was incredibly popular with women thanks to his dashing good looks.
"Sir, Cavendish is currently on this island. Do you want to arrest him?"
"No need. I'm on vacation. The concert is keeping me busy enough. I don't want to add to my workload," Roya said, shaking his head decisively, though his eyes lingered on the bounty poster.
Damn, he's even more handsome than me.
Roya tossed the newspaper down in annoyance.
He wasn't interested in arresting pirates right now. He just wanted to get a general idea of the rookies to avoid overlooking any important information.
"Hmm?"
Roya stared at Lu Yun, sensing her unease, as if she were worried about something.
"Lu Yun."
"Sir?"
Lu Yun looked up at Roya. Seeing the look in his eyes, she knew her thoughts had been exposed. Hesitantly, she said, "I recently heard that a Celestial Dragon is coming down to the world, probably to watch Uta's concert. They..."
"Celestial Dragon," Roya frowned.
Few Celestial Dragons were normal. If they tried to forcibly take Uta or Yamato during the concert, it would cause him a lot of trouble.
Now wasn't the time to openly clash with the Celestial Dragons, and he couldn't publicly confront them.
Hopefully, there aren't too many idiots.
Roya's expression hardened.
If they really piss me off, what does it matter if I secretly kill a few Celestial Dragons?
"Sir..."
Lu Yun looked into Roya's eyes, her heart skipping a beat.
She knew Roya well, which was why she was worried about him clashing with the Celestial Dragons. The way he looked now, he was probably plotting how to kill them without leaving a trace.
There's nothing Sir wouldn't dare to do!
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing," Roya said with a slight smile. "After the concert on Sabaody, I'll head straight to the New World. Prepare a warship for me. I won't be acting alone this time."
"Understood!" Lu Yun replied, her heart leaping with joy.
----
Meanwhile, at Marine Headquarters.
Inside the Marshal's office, several old veterans were gathered, sipping tea and munching on rice crackers. A newspaper and a concert poster lay on the coffee table.
"Roya has arrived at Sabaody."
A few days ago, Roya had received the Yibell Peace Prize in Water 7, which had significantly boosted the Marine's reputation.
Even Sengoku was very pleased.
But now that Roya was in Sabaody, he wasn't even coming back to see them. The others were somewhat displeased.
Passing right by without stopping in? What was that about?
Even if he pretended to visit Headquarters, they could use the opportunity to cancel his suspension.
That way, everyone would save face.
But after waiting for days, Roya showed no sign of returning. Could it be that he really intended to take a year-long vacation?
Such an important asset, yet he wasn't doing his job properly. Was that acceptable?
"Cough!" Sengoku cleared his throat and looked at Zephyr. "Zephyr, after Roya's concert, notify him to return to Headquarters."
"No problem," Zephyr agreed with a smile.
He was the perfect person to handle this. If Headquarters ordered Roya to return to his post, it would be embarrassing, like begging him.
"Also, about the Roswald family coming down to the world..."
The most talked-about event on Sabaody right now was Uta's concert. The Celestial Dragons arriving at this time likely had Uta in their sights.
It would be fine if they watched the concert peacefully, but they were afraid they'd cause trouble. Similar situations had happened before.
Sengoku frowned, helpless. The Marine had no power to interfere with the Celestial Dragons' actions. They could only hope that nothing would happen.
----
Sabaody Archipelago, Island 13.
"So handsome!"
"It's Lord Cavendish!"
"Even more handsome than in his bounty poster!"
The surrounding women were completely mesmerized by the gorgeous man sitting on the bench, their eyes filled with adoration.
"The Peace Band!"
Cavendish clutched a promotional poster, his fingers tightening until it crumpled into a ball, as if he had encountered his mortal enemy.
This year was supposed to be his year. His photo should be in every newspaper, his name on everyone's lips.
But since the Peace Band appeared, his popularity had plummeted. Everyone was focused on Uta and that Vice Admiral Black Hair, and fewer reporters were interviewing him.
Envy, jealousy, and resentment boiled within him.
He couldn't tolerate his popularity being stolen, and he couldn't stand others being so dazzling.
The opportunity for revenge has come!
That was how it was supposed to be!
But...
Cavendish looked at the thick stack of tickets on the table in front of him.
"Lord Cavendish's Handshake Event!"
"Why haven't any of my tickets sold?!" Cavendish roared, his face contorted with fury.
He had originally planned to defeat Uta and Black Hair with his sheer popularity, but the reality was that their concert tickets had been sold out for ages, while no one cared about his handshake event.
His tickets were even autographed!
Suddenly, someone approached his table.
Cavendish immediately plastered on a smile, extending his hands and asking warmly, "Hey, wanna buy a ticket to Lord Cavendish's handshake thing? 20% off, just for you!"
"Handshake? How disgusting," the man scoffed.
Crack!
An arrow pierced Cavendish's heart.
The man drew his sword and said coldly, "You're the pirate Cavendish with a bounty of 180 million Berries, right?"
"You're...a Pirate Hunter!" Cavendish said, sizing up the man, his expression growing serious.
Green hair, three swords.
He was the most notorious Pirate Hunter on the Sabaody Archipelago.
Roronoa Zoro!
