70: Chapter 70: Dark Abyss
70 -70: Dark Abyss
“What’s going on?” Mo Qian felt confused, as he had never encountered a monster that could flee into the portal before.
“Something’s off,” Little You frowned, pointing at the portal.
“Do you guys think this bone-haired worm intentionally led us into this portal?”
“This is the territory of the Undead Clan, where the Dancing Demons Guild stationed!” Strawberry Pudding, obviously aware of the danger, shook her head saying, “This guild has a bad reputation.
No ordinary players should enter!
If we go, there’s a high chance we’ll get killed in there.”
What Strawberry Pudding didn’t know was that all the players from the Dancing Demons Guild had moved to the Hidden Map, the Beast King’s Tomb space.
There, they had a conflict with the members of the Tiger Supreme Guild, which escalated into an intense guild battle.
“But this unusual behavior from the monster may imply a hidden task!” Mo Qian couldn’t help feeling eager.
“You’re not even at level 30, and you’re planning to go to the map for level 30 or above?” Little You looked at him with disdain.
“Do you guys think this could be a diversion?” Hong Guang, who had been silent all the while, suddenly put forth a theory.
“Are you kidding, Hong?
Have you lost your mind?
This is just a game, not the Three Kingdoms Era!” Mo Qian pointed at Hong Guang, laughing out loud.
“Stop laughing for now.
Let’s go back and finish the task first.
I have a bad feeling,” Hong Guang replied, his face stern.
“Old Hong’s right.
Let’s go finish the task—dig up that grave and see what interesting things it’s hiding,” Little You said, agreeing with Hong Guang and leading Strawberry Pudding back the way they came.
When they returned to the Dark Swamp where the dark bone lizard boss had been defeated, they found the entire grave had already been dug up, and the task items they were after were nowhere to be found.
“Great job, Mo Qian!” Little You was enraged, glowering at Mo Qian.
Hadn’t he been the one to mess up their long-term task?
“Eh, don’t blame me.
I only went after that bone-haired worm; I didn’t ask you to follow,” Mo Qian responded with a guilty look, trying to argue his case.
“Hmph!
You’re the only one in our team who has the mineral mining skill.
Without you, none of us could dig it up!” Little You refused to back down, venting her frustration.
Mo Qian rubbed his bald head, turning to look the other way.
“Well, since the task has been interrupted and we might still have to farm the Dark Bone Lizard boss for another week…
just…” Hong Guang interrupted Little You’s complaints, analyzing: “There might be players hiding nearby, using their pet to draw us away so they could seize our victory, the boss’s tomb.”
Clearing his throat, Hong Guang continued his analysis: “Since that bone-haired worm went into the Dark Abyss through the portal, it could imply something – the player hiding nearby is aiming for the Dark Abyss as his next task location!”
“Are you saying we should enter the Dark Abyss and get back the task items?!” Mo Qian’s eyes suddenly lit up.
“I’m not going crazy with you guys.
I’m going on a guild raid to farm boss monsters in a while – I don’t have much time.” The healer, Strawberry Pudding, voiced her resistance, looking resigned.
She didn’t want to stir up trouble, especially given the high risks.
“Pudding, I want to see what this trashy player looks like!” said Little You, her cheeks puffing out in anger, her magic staff swinging in her hand.
“Alright then, you guys go.
Be careful, and try not to cause any conflict with the Dancing Demons Guild.
Tell me when there’s something interesting later on.” Strawberry Pudding smiled sweetly and then left with a Town Recall Scroll.
After Strawberry Pudding left, Mo Qian and the others headed toward the portal which was located to the north of the Sinister Grave Ridge.
…
When the bone worm entered the portal, it found itself at the bottom of the abyss.
The area was incredibly dark and shrouded in a damp mist; it seemed that not even the sun could penetrate the darkness here.
Looking up, it saw the abyss resembled a vast canyon with towering mountains on all side.
The path was dangerous, and a wooden bridge ran through the mountains, acting as a heavenly ladder connecting two high-risk locations.
At the end of the wooden bridge was a dark cave that gushed out extreme black water.
The rapid water cascaded down the steep cliff, surging and splashing with all the might of ten thousand horses charging into battle.
The magnificence of the scene was overwhelming and breathtaking!
The dark waterfall poured into a pool, roaring and splashing, surrounded by mist, presenting a spectacular view!
The surface of the Blackwater Pool was as dark as ink, surrounded by wandering undead skeletons, which added a touch of death to the Dark Abyss and a hint of danger.
Su Ran felt shocked at the sight of such a landscape through the bone worm’s vision.
He was astounded that such a beautiful scene could exist in the game – miraculous and stunning!
Lingered for a moment, he headed up the mountain toward his task target, the cave at the end of the wooden bridge!
The towering mountains were riven with cracks and gorges due to tectonic faults, which wove a tortuous path up the mountainside like a stairway to heaven.
The bone worm climbed along this rugged route.
…
“Wow, what a beautiful waterfall, what a nice abyss!” Little You was immediately captivated upon entering the portal and sighting the spectacular Blackwater Waterfall.
She looked at it spellbound, murmuring to herself.
“Enough with your nonsense, quickly find that bone-haired worm!” Mo Qian a typical gruff man, didn’t care about the picturesque scene but went straight for the point.
“No wonder you’re single!” The mood took a nosedive.
Little You glared at him, then suddenly exclaimed, “Wow, so many skeletons!”
“Duh, this is the paradise for the Undead Clan, of course, there are many skeletons.
If you go further along the abyss, you’ll see all kinds of undead!” Mo Qian said dismissively.
“Huh, Mo, when did you become so knowledgeable?” Hong Guang, who had been staying quiet off to the side, chimed in: “Do you remember what Strawberry Pudding mentioned?
This place was occupied by the Dancing Demons Guild, but how come there’s no one in sight?”
“Did you guys not check the world channel?” Little You’s face suggested she’d given up on them.
“Didn’t really pay attention to it.” Mo Qian quickly glanced at it, then laughed: “Oh, two guilds are exchanging blows on the world channel.
So that’s it.
The Dancing Demons Guild and Tiger Supreme Guild are fighting over a boss!”
“Yeah, they’ve all mobilized for a single boss and don’t even care to guard this map anymore.” Hong Guang pulled his shield out of his bag, preparing for any emergency.
“Little You, where should we go to find this player?” Mo Qian was slightly excited.
Little You surveyed the layout of the Dark Abyss before replying, “There are three dangerous places here: the cave, the Blackwater Pool, and the end of the Abyss.”
“The end of the abyss and the Blackwater Pool are not possible.
That player couldn’t have had a battle under such conditions with so many creatures around, and there’s not even a trace of fighting around.
Of course, unless they hid, but this probability is minuscule.”
“Apparently, up the mountain.” Little You snapped her fingers, pointing to the mysterious stone-wood bridge.
