80: Chapter 80 Time-limited Task
80 -80 Time-limited Task
“Whew~ Nothing beats the comfort of one’s own territory, no need to walk on eggshells,” Su Ran leisurely strolled within his domain.
[Regional Announcement] Mr.
Cream Puff: Are you there or not?
If you are, reply, and leave a name, at least.
How am I supposed to contact you?
I’m at 216.510.
Uncle Li is here!
Su Ran was about to leave the village when he halted in his tracks.
He thought for a moment, summoned his Bone Worm clone, pulled out a Group Skill book, and tightly wedged it into the gap under the worm’s skull.
He patted the Bone Worm’s skeleton, ‘Hmm, it fits well,’ before sending it to wiggle away.
Off in the distance, a Cream Puff dressed in a green robe was poking at the ground with a magic wand that shimmered with pink light.
His face was hidden beneath a white veil, but his lively eyes were scanning his surroundings.
“That Su Ran, always rushing into things without leaving any contact information behind.
How am I supposed to find him?” Li Wan’er grumbled discontentedly.
“It’s been a while since I last navigated this newbie map, there’s not even a teleportation stone here now.
What a hassle!
It would’ve been better to trade in the Human Race’s Imperial City!”
As Li Wan’er looked around, she noticed a Bone Worm wriggling its way over to her.
Just as she was about to get into a defensive stance, she noticed a skill book lodged beneath the Bone Worm’s skull.
The Bone Worm wriggled up to Li Wan’er, raised its head, and the skill book plopped onto the ground.
“This guy, so dramatic!
He actually sent a pet to deliver the skill book!” she muttered with a furrowed brow.
She picked up the skill book, tossed it into her bag, and disappeared with a quick teleport.
Meanwhile, Su Ran was dumbstruck.
Uncle Li had an impressive figure, round in front…
and behind…
Huh?
He even veiled his face.
Well, understandable.
But what was with the sweet female voice?
Su Ran reflected on his previous conversations with Uncle Li.
All signs indicated he never played God and Demon Conflict!
Su Ran gulped.
Finally realizing, he indeed had misunderstood Uncle Li.
This Cream Puff was probably Uncle Li’s relative…
staying temporarily at his house…
Su Ran inwardly repeated his apology.
Sorry, Uncle Li.
You’re still the honest and cheerful elder in my heart.
No offense, no offense!
But was this girl overly aloof?
She just took the skill book and leaves without even saying thank you!
Su Ran thought indignantly.
What he didn’t know was that Mr.
Cream Puff had already been waiting there for some time.
By the time Bone Worm wriggled back to the village, Su Ran was already in Director Liu’s house.
“Master, master, we have a problem!” Director Liu cried at Su Ran as soon as he entered.
“Oh my, another task?” Su Ran was taken aback.
He hadn’t even told Director Liu about the situation in Dark Abyss yet, and another task had already appeared out of nowhere.
“Someone stole my treasured possession!” Director Liu wailed.
How many treasured possessions does this old man have?
“Spill it!”
“There’s a Phantom Wolf in the Dark Forest.
It stole my beloved cotton socks.
Master, you must help me!” Director Liu begged while clinging to Su Ran’s arm.
…
Really…socks…and they’re cotton…
Phantom Wolf, why are your tastes so odd?
What’s with Director Liu, he’s just a bunch of bones!
What does he need socks for?
“Cough, Director Liu, isn’t this going a bit too far?
It’s just a trivial item, better off without it!” Su Ran said, trying to maintain a serious demeanor.
“Master, you don’t understand!
Those cotton socks are my keepsake from when I was alive.
They haven’t been washed once in many years, they are full of my scent, it’s like I am alive again!” the director reminisced about his past.
“They remind me of my past life.
Therefore, they are my precious belongings, my relics, of great significance!”
Ugh, the smell of life, pure cotton socks that haven’t been washed for years…taken away by a wolf…
Bleh…
“Cough cough, Butler Liu, I’ll take this task.” For the task’s reward, Su Ran went all out.
“Ding!
Congratulations to the player for accepting the task: Retrieve Butler Liu’s pure cotton socks!
Task duration: 1 day.
Task failure penalty: Unknown.”
Damn, the task lasts for 1 day?
A penalty for failure?
This old man is really ruthless!
“My lord, you must hurry up.
If you are late, my socks will be torn to shreds!” Butler Liu returned to his normal state, showing none of the grief from before.
“Hmph!” Su Ran, helpless and annoyed, had no choice but to leave the room and head straight for the Dark Forest west of the Dark Swamp.
The Dark Swamp remained as it always was, with dark clouds covering the sky, making the whole swamp extremely dim.
Su Ran glanced at the Dark Bone Cats and hordes of poisonous mosquitoes hanging out around the swamp.
A return to the old haunts, but things and people have changed!
Su Ran had no time to linger.
He carefully avoided the anger range of these monsters, and hurriedly left the place, continuing west.
He eventually entered the dense Dark Forest.
The Dark Forest was vastly different from the Forest of Ten Thousand Beasts.
An intense sun was hanging over the Dark Forest, making the interior of the forest as bright as day.
The stout, towering trees were all as dry as tinder, covered with cracks.
The ground was split open, barren of grass.
If the Forest of Ten Thousand Beasts was a paradise for the Beast Clan, then this Dark Forest was a playground for the Illusion Spirit Clan.
The Illusion Spirit Clan, a special combination of soul and shadow, had an independent consciousness and strong attack power.
They were members of the Demon World faction.
As Su Ran walked through the Dark Forest, he was puzzled.
He wondered why a forest bathed in intense sunlight could be called “dark”.
Feeling that something was amiss, he sent his Bone Caterpillar forward, trying to sense hidden dangers.
Suddenly.
A gust of wind came from the right side of the caterpillar, highlighting a creature that hit the caterpillar and sent it flying.
The monster had a transparent body, and turned out to be a Phantom Boar.
The Phantom Boar resembled a porcupine in appearance.
It wasn’t big, but it was incredibly fat with short, thick limbs.
Its body was covered in spikes, and its mouth was filled with sharp teeth.
The boar ran to try and hit the fallen Bone Caterpillar again.
Su Ran took this opportunity to check the attributes of the Phantom Boar.
[Phantom Boar] LV25
Qi Blood: 630
Attack: 105-112
Defense: 55
Agility: 5
Active Skills: Sharp Fangs and Clever Teeth—Bites the target, increasing attack by 20%.
Spikes Burst—Group attack, back spikes shoot at surrounding targets like arrows.
Attack Range 3X3, Attack+10%, Defense-20%.

The wild boar’s mighty blow took 80 Qi Blood from the Bone Caterpillar.
However, compared to the Bone Caterpillar’s high Qi Blood of 1700, it was insignificant.
What’s funny was that the boar even lost 24 Qi Blood due to the Bone Caterpillar’s counterattack.
After the surprise attack, the Bone Caterpillar quickly adjusted its posture and dodged the boar’s attack.
The Phantom Boar missed, opened its mouth, and bit at the Bone Caterpillar.
Unfortunately, before it could reach the Bone Caterpillar, a large burning paper stuck to the Phantom Boar’s body.
