Chapter 82: Crocky & Cheron
Crocky — Orichon Dyrstone Crocodile — Metal / Earth / Dyrstone.
Dyrstone attribute was the new one Crocky got from this Sovereign-rank potential evolution form.
Naturally, this evolution was only possible because John had hunted the Gold-rank Monster—Silver Armed Diamond Kong, and got its Geno Points.
This evolution path was unlocked for Crocky when he got those Geno Points, and it was the strongest on the list.
Dyrstone attribute was like a strange mix of Sand and Diamond, and it could be super tough and durable in multiple ways due to its flexibility.
The current Crocky was six meters long from snout to tail’s end. On the back, he had twin protruding spines with sharp spikes, and his skin was like a scaled diamond, but with a dark brown and golden hue with muddy internal sheens.
His legs were rather L-shaped with a distance of half a meter from the ground to his belly’s surface. With those legs and blasting Dyrstone energy from gaps by arranging his scales, he could jump fast with a swift burst in any direction.
"Khakakaka, come on. Show me what you got," Crocky snapped his mouth as his terrifying jagged teeth clamped with a burst of sparkling pressure of Dyrstone releasing from the scales.
Bang!
The speed at which Crocky clamped his teeth by using Dyrstone energy broke the sound barrier as a shockwave was released in all directions, blowing strong winds!
"Holy. If you got caught in his mouth and he used that skill, you’d be dead, Chemu," Chuthulos blinked and said to Crocky’s opponent.
Previously, he was the Twin-Fanged Snake Panther. Now, he had three hybrid Panther heads that looked a mix of Panther + Lion, Panther + Tiger, and in the middle was the original-resembling Panther, but with a more ferocious outline and black fur, which had some purple fur in patterns mixed in.
It was the same with the other two heads, which had blackish-orange and khaki fur mixed in with purple. At his tail, there was a more terrifying creature than before—a viper with the size and monstrosity of a python. It had glistening green scales with purple patterns like those of the other three heads.
From head to tail, he was four meters long, and his height was around three and a half meters, with a muscled yet agile body, not to mention the pair of brand-new wings that made him a flying monster.
"I’ll roast you with my new flames, Crocky. Also, I am a Chimera, so call me King Chimera, damn it! Stop giving me different names."
"Alright, here’s the final verdict. Your name is Cheron. This is a badass name, okay? It means Super Powerful in my language," Chuthulos said.
"Cheron means Super Powerful? Fine, I’ll take it then."
Cheron — Umbral Plumlord Chimera — Shadow / Poison / Plumblaze.
"Go on, Crocky. Make your move first," Cheron taunted as his viper-tail hissed.
"Four-headed freak, you’re dead."
Crocky launched up in the sky and used a skill, turning into a ball with glistening spikes that began spinning fast. Even the spikes were spinning!
’What kind of body is that?! Bastard became all crazy with that new attribute.’ Cheron’s face turned ugly. He wanted to go head-on from the start, but if that landed on him, things could become nasty because he realized Crocky was a tough bastard now.
’You’re still dead.’
Chero dodged with his wings that burst with Plumblaze and released heat to accelerate while opening all three of his mouths as well as his viper-tail, releasing four trails of dark purple flame that conjoined into a raging fireball.
The fireball shot right as Crocky smashed into the position where Cheron was standing previously.
Crocky swiftly returned to his normal form, but all the spikes actually shot out like missiles towards Cheron right as Crocky was hit by the fireball.
Cheron’s eyes popped out as he quickly used Shadow Stream, escaping away, but the missiles actually followed Cheron as if homing in on him.
’What the fuck?’
Crocky barely opened his eyes as his entire body was burning. The impact of that fireball blasted him away, and its strange heat was permeating all of his body, making him puff up and in pain.
’Fucking hell, what kind of flame is this?!’
It was burning and sending heat into him at every part!
Crocky rolled around and tried to snuff out the Plumblaze flames while looking at Cheron. ’Humph, my spikes will follow you unless they are impacted by obstacles. How long will you be able to dodge?’
Crocky had spread metal motes onto Cheron when he spun in the sky and spread them all out. Those spike missiles reacted to the metal motes embedded on Cheron and followed him.
Cheron was dodging the impacts, but those spinning spikes were quite impactful and exploding. Although the effective range was very short, if the spike made a direct hit, it would shred the body.
And Cheron didn’t have a defense-type skill among the three skills he had, so he had to dodge no matter what.
While speedily dodging using his flight with wings, and using Shadow Stream in emergencies, Cheron looked at Crocky and sneered. ’You’re done.’
He released a bubbling green slime from the viper-tail, shooting right at Crocky, who was snuffing out flames while rolling around.
Instantly, the flames increased in intensity and spread more as Crocky began shouting.
"Fuck, fucking bastard!"
Crocky had a defensive skill, but it was a barrier and wouldn’t help against the flames already burning on his body. 𝓃ℴ𝓋𝓹𝓊𝓫.𝒸𝓸𝓂
With no other choice, Crocky decided to use Riveting Impact Spikes, releasing those spike missiles with his remaining soul energy on Cheron.
"Let’s see who loses first!"
"Things are getting heated! Will Cheron get hit by the new salvo of thirty missiles, or will Crocky lose consciousness first?"
Chuthulos shouted with a mic floating before his invisible mouth.
Behind him in the sky was a screen showing a bunch of Eldritch Monsters of all shapes and sizes watching, talking, and cheering.
In the end, Cheron was hit by a missile by an inch of distance, but the impact damaged him. Still, he managed to dodge the remaining missiles as Crocky was bloated and lost consciousness.
"And we have the winner!"
Chuthulos fed him two leaves that John created, and healed him.
"Alright, let me put a task in the task board. We need monsters with healing skills for 24 hours. The reward is 50 contribution points and one delicious meat dish."
Chuthulos then turned to the other two and grinned, which was basically his eye squinting. "Alright, let’s start the second match."
"Merc the mad tiger versus Ophis the dreadling owl!"
"And lord Chuthulos strikes with random titles this time," Sony whistled.
"Thank you for the praise, Sony the ultimate Son."
