Chapter 532 - Altaria vs. Tapu Koko

Although Tapu Koko is called a guardian deity, that does not mean it frequently offers assistance. It will also attack humans and Pokémon that disrupt its mood. It is a fierce and temperamental god, with an unexpectedly capricious nature.

In the next moment, a dragon-shaped wave of energy condensed, radiating a bluish-purple glow. Like a fierce beast that devoured everything, it surged toward Tapu Koko, ready to tear into it.

This Dragon Pulse could only be described as perfect.

Beneath its form, terrifying power was hidden within. What surprised Terrance was that Tapu Koko showed no intention of dodging.

Crack!

Tapu Koko brought its fused shell forward, directly meeting the incoming Dragon Pulse. The two rapidly clashed!

Boom!!

Under the force of the shockwave, even the tree branches were nearly snapped by the blast, and the surrounding leaves were left in utter disarray, torn to shreds by the violent winds. Tapu Koko took the full force of the Dragon Pulse head-on and was sent flying, crashing through tree after tree before being flung far into the distance.

However...

After being pushed back a considerable distance, Tapu Koko forcefully came to a stop, its shells parting once more. Aside from a thin layer of dust on its shells, it surprisingly appeared completely unscathed!

"How should I put this... As expected of a guardian deity? This level of defense..." Terrance looked toward Altaria, his smile fading. Completely unharmed?

"Altaria, use Dragon Claw!" Terrance took a deep breath and commanded.

Altaria's Dragon Claw had been trained to an extremely high level. Each strike carried immense destructive power, and compared to controlling Dragon Pulse, Altaria was even more proficient in wielding Dragon Claw, capable of unleashing a relentless barrage of attacks like a torrential storm.

Buzz~

Altaria rushed forward, swinging its massive claws. The short distance between them was nothing for Altaria. Even though its explosive speed wasn't on par with Arcanine's, it could still close the gap in an instant. Against such a fierce assault, most Pokémon would struggle to react.

Terrance swore he had never seen a Quick Attack this fast—it was so quick that it gave him the illusion of a Teleport. Even Arcanine's Extreme Speed was nowhere near this level.

Altaria quickly realized what had happened and swung another Dragon Claw at its target, but Tapu Koko dodged even faster. The attack missed, and the sheer force of the blow created a deep crater in the ground. Unfortunately... no matter how many times Altaria struck, it just couldn't land a hit on Tapu Koko.

Watching Altaria seemingly being toyed with by Tapu Koko, Terrance showed no expression. Instead, he simply waited in silence.

As Tapu Koko continued to dodge, Altaria's repeated Dragon Claw kept meeting nothing but empty air. Finally, with a sudden surge of powerful aura, Altaria seemed to predict Tapu Koko's movements as its coordinated body dodged with astonishing precision, then it locked its sharp gaze onto Tapu Koko and fiercely unleashed a Dragon Claw!

This time, with a loud "bang," Tapu Koko was struck down. Altaria immediately followed up with another Dragon Claw, and the two heavy blows sent Tapu Koko crashing to the ground.

However, neither Altaria nor Terrance showed any signs of joy.

Although Tapu Koko had been struck before it could defend with its shell, it still didn't appear to have taken significant damage!

Altaria's Dragon Claw had only left faint, shallow marks on its body—marks that weren't even enough to be considered an effective attack!

And now, after being knocked down, Tapu Koko seemed ready to counterattack. The surrounding electric energy began to flicker and crackle, rapidly converging toward Tapu Koko, slithering into its body like electric serpents.

Immediately after, an astonishing surge of electric current erupted from Tapu Koko's body. Terrance's expression turned serious—he recognized this move. This was the precursor to Wild Charge.

"Altaria, this will be the final attack."

"Use Dragon Rush with everything you've got."

On one side was the intense golden electric glow that illuminated the entire forest, and on the other was the full-force charge condensed with a terrifying aura. Terrance's heart was in his throat; he dared not guarantee that Altaria's Dragon Rush would be enough to withstand Tapu Koko's attack, but after these few exchanges, he had already realized just how terrifyingly powerful this guardian deity was.

The two figures, having gathered their strength, finally clashed!

The body shrouded in raging golden electricity collided with the dragon-shaped form wreathed in bluish-purple flames. Even Terrance, hiding behind a tree, felt his entire body go numb from the aftermath.

BOOM!!!

The powerful shockwave was so intense that it could be clearly heard even in distant parts of the area.

"I bet a lot of people are going to be drawn here by the noise," Terrance muttered with a wry smile.

And with that, the battle came to an end. Tapu Koko now bore deeper wounds, but in essence, it was still calmly hovering in the air, largely unaffected.

Meanwhile, Altaria was now covered in wounds, utterly exhausted, and had lost the strength to continue fighting.
