Chapter 779 -330: Let’s Talk Again (Let 6000 Words be Interest; Continue with Three Chapters Tomorrow)_3
Zhou Yuwen nodded, “Yeah, she’s indeed pretty hard to get along with.”
“But I feel like she might like a person with your personality,” Zhou Yuwen said.
“Really?” Lu Wanting asked, somewhat incredulously as she spoke, holding a mouthful of water before spitting it out.
There was still foam at the corners of her mouth, and she smiled, “Then I’ll take that as a good omen from you!”
“No problem,” Zhou Yuwen said, watching her rinse her mouth, “In our country, we don’t rinse like that though.”
Lu Wanting asked curiously, “Then how should we rinse?”
Zhou Yuwen said, “Watch this.”
With that, he took a big gulp of water and tilted his head back.
He started gurgling away loudly.
Then he lowered his head,
and spat it all out with a “Pfft.”
Lu Wanting watched wide-eyed, then couldn’t help but burst into laughter when she saw Zhou Yuwen spit it out.
Zhou Yuwen said, “See? That’s how we rinse our mouth.”
“Um, well, that’s a bit embarrassing!”
Actually, girls from Singapore have a bit of a “Taiwanese lilt” in their tone. Lu Wanting was just that kind of girl. While she found Zhou Yuwen’s demonstration quite amusing, doing it herself made her feel a bit awkward.
Zhou Yuwen said, “Give it a try, no one else is around anyway.”
“Really? Okay!” Lu Wanting was a little tempted by Zhou Yuwen’s words.
Zhou Yuwen assured her, “Of course.”
So, Lu Wanting also drank a big gulp of water, tilting her head back.
She gurgled loudly.
And then spat it all out.
Zhou Yuwen asked, “So? Isn’t it fun?”
“It really is!” Lu Wanting said happily.
Then the two of them started gurgling and spitting together.
And then Zhou Yuwen was dragged aside and scolded by his mother, who pinched and twisted him repeatedly, saying, “Teaching people all sorts of nonsense!”
“What are you even teaching her? Aren’t you worried your cousin will come back and tattle on you?”
Zhou Yuwen said, “Cousin got pretty lucky, huh? No idea where he managed to pick up this silly girl.”
Before he could finish his sentence, his mother pinched him two more times.
Zhou Yuwen just chuckled sheepishly.
While brushing up in the courtyard, he suddenly heard Su Qing’s voice calling his name from the alley, as though she was right outside the door.
So, Zhou Yuwen got up and went to open the door.
When the front door opened, sure enough, Su Qing was just outside.
Seeing Zhou Yuwen, Su Qing was delighted and said with a big smile, “Zhou Yuwen! I almost couldn’t find it!”
She did know where Zhou Yuwen’s family lived, but it had been so long since she last visited that she’d forgotten the exact location.
Seeing Zhou Yuwen open the door, Su Qing walked up and grabbed his arm.
His mother heard the commotion and came out to take a look. Originally, she intended to call Zhou Yuwen for breakfast, but was surprised to see Su Qing. For a moment, she was stunned, but quickly recovered and greeted her with a smile, “Xiao Su, you’re here so early?”
Su Qing politely responded, “Hello, Auntie.”
“Xiao Su, you haven’t had breakfast, have you?”
“I already ate, Auntie.”
“Well, have a bit more with us then?”
Yang Lirong merely exchanged some polite small talk with Su Qing before heading back inside the house.
Left behind, Su Qing stood uneasily before quickly following Zhou Yuwen, grabbing his arm again and whispering, “I feel like your mom doesn’t seem to like me very much. Is it because of what happened yesterday?”
Zhou Yuwen replied, “You’re overthinking it.”
“My mom has always been like this. You’re someone living your second life; couldn’t you try to recall?”
“No.”
Su Qing shook her head and said, “She wasn’t like this before. You tell me…”
Su Qing suddenly thought of a wild idea and lowered her voice to ask, “Do you think your mom, like us, is reborn too? Then what do we do, Zhou Yuwen? If she knows we got divorced, she’ll definitely…”
Su Qing’s anxiety grew as she spoke.
This amused Zhou Yuwen, who said with a grin, “What are you thinking? If my mom were reborn, she would’ve divorced my dad a long time ago.”
“Huh?” Su Qing was dumbfounded.
Zhou Yuwen explained, “What I mean is, it’s impossible. But seriously, Xiao Su, when did you become so lacking in confidence? I remember in our past life, you used to say, ‘If it doesn’t work out, just break it off!'”
Su Qing blushed slightly from being teased again and said, “That was then! I was young and naïve.”
“And now you’re all grown up?”
“Hmph, you’re the one who’s old now.”
After a few casual remarks, the two went off to the dining room to have breakfast together.
There were still two days until the Chinese New Year.
Zhou Guobin had only eight days off from New Year’s Eve to the seventh day of the Lunar New Year.
So, Zhou Guobin still had to work today and had left home early.
Zhou Yuwen asked his mother why she wasn’t working today.
While helping to serve Zhou Yuwen some congee, Yang Lirong said, “There’s nothing much going on at the office.”
“Isn’t it my job to stay at home and look after our little prince?”
Zhou Yuwen quickly replied, “Please, let’s not go there. I don’t deserve the title.”
Su Qing behaved very well in Zhou Yuwen’s home. When Yang Lirong served her a bowl of congee, she sweetly smiled and said, “Thank you, Auntie.”
Apart from Zhou Yuwen and Su Qing, Lu Wanting was also at the table for breakfast.
Su Qing found herself quite curious about Lu Wanting, as this person didn’t exist in her previous life, and what’s more, she was a foreigner.
Lu Wanting, being outgoing, noticed Su Qing sneaking glances at her and boldly greeted her, “Hello.”
Then she asked Zhou Yuwen and Su Qing, “What fun things do you guys do around here for New Year?”
Su Qing thought about it and said, “Actually, there’s not much fun to do.”
“It’s just games like ring toss or shooting targets.”
“Ring toss?”
Lu Wanting seemed a bit intrigued, so Su Qing detailed the game to her.
Throughout breakfast, most of the conversation was between the two girls.
Meanwhile, Zhou Yuwen ate his meal while playing on his phone.
When he checked his phone, he noticed Jiang Xinyi hadn’t sent him any messages.
