Chapter 104: Chapter 104: Deliver to My Room
Chapter 104 -104: Deliver to My Room
“If it weren’t for hardship, would he have his status today? In the end, I even helped him!”
“Mom!” Tang Yu couldn’t believe she would say such a thing. “Do you even know what you’re saying?”
“Let the past be past, why dwell on it? Ye Sihan is also to blame, always holding onto people and not letting go.” Yu Zhaohui was rarely so unreasonable.
“You need to apologize to Ye Sihan, get him to forgive you, or he’ll never let go of me for life!” Tang Yu’s eyes brimmed with tears.
How much she wanted to leave the capital to live without any pressure with her four little ones.
“Stop being naive, Ye Sihan is a madman. If I appear before him and say those words, he’d kill me for sure.” Yu Zhaohui refused.
“Then leave Ye Xianghua.”
“All these years of marriage with Ye Xianghua, you expect me to just leave?” Yu Zhaohui refused.
“If you don’t leave, I will never speak to you again.” Tang Yu threatened her.
Yu Zhaohui patiently explained, “Xiaoyu, don’t be foolish. Mom marrying into a wealthy family didn’t just change my life, but yours as well. Do you want to go back to the days when we had to haggle for a piece of meat? To find another poor man and have a litter of poor kids? Look at us now, eating and dressing well, and Mom can find you a well-matched husband. You’d also be finding a good father for your future children! Why do poor people struggle to study? Isn’t it to escape poverty and jump the class barrier?”
“You’re entitled to have such aspirations, but you can’t destroy someone else’s family and be burdened with a life on your conscience,” Tang Yu said angrily.
Yu Zhaohui looked at the cup in front of her, “Every man for himself, and heaven for us all. I don’t think I did anything wrong. Besides, Ye Xianghua and I fell in love at first sight. His marriage to Zhao Xing was a union without love. If blame must be assigned, it’s because I appeared too late.”
“You…” Tang Yu was so frustrated by her logic that she was speechless.
“Xiaoyu, you’re my only daughter. I hope more than anything that you’ll stand by me,” Yu Zhaohui said with a blend of heartache and resentment, looking at her. “You know, Mom has always loved you from the beginning to the end.”
Tang Yu’s eyes welled up, and tears slid down her face as she said helplessly, “This is wrong, it’s just wrong…”
Yu Zhaohui moved forward to embrace her, “Things will get better. Mom didn’t do it on purpose, it’s just that matters of the heart are complicated.”
Tang Yu simply couldn’t empathize with her viewpoint and, crying, pushed her away forcefully. She stood up and ran out of the private room.
“Xiaoyu, where are you going? You haven’t eaten yet!”
Tang Yu ran out of the restaurant and down a long stretch of road before stopping.
Her body hurt, but her heart hurt even more.
Why had things turned out this way?
This wasn’t the image of her mother that she held in her heart.
How could she destroy someone else’s family?
Zhao Xing even committed suicide over it.
Initially, she thought Ye Sihan was selfish. Why cause a rift over a father remarrying?
So this was the truth.
Tang Yu asked herself if she could ever forgive a father like that?
No, never in a lifetime!
Her cell phone rang, interrupting the grief-stricken Tang Yu.
She took out her phone, saw it was Li Xue, wiped her tears, cleared her throat, and then picked up, “Sister Xue.”
“Will you come back for dinner tonight?”
“I’m buying some cupcakes outside, I’ll be back soon.”
After hanging up, Tang Yu went to find a dessert shop. Once inside, she first asked if the frosting was made from animal cream, as she didn’t want the kids to eat anything unhealthy.
When she returned to the neighborhood with the cake, Tang Yu’s mood had calmed down.
Anyway, what she needed to do now was figure out how to heal Ye Sihan’s inner scars and work towards reconciliation, just like her previous plan.
Later, she would take the children and leave far away.
All the glory and riches here had nothing to do with her.
After arriving home, the four little ones pounced on her, calling her “mommy” with their milky voices.
Happily eating the cupcakes she had brought.
They didn’t forget to feed “mommy” a spoonful each time, um, no, four spoonfuls in total.
This sense of happiness is irreplaceable.
Tang Yu was washing dishes, zoning out as she did so.
“The kids are asleep,” Li Xue approached. “Something on your mind?”
Snapping back to reality, Tang Yu continued with the dishes. “People really can change. My mom was so kind and gentle to me, yet she ended up wrecking someone else’s happy family. What should I do?”
“Did your mom tell you?”
“I found out and she admitted it,” Tang Yu said, holding back the sourness in her eyes. “I really don’t understand why she did something so bad… Even after the divorce, she never neglected me and secretly funded my education.”
“That proves she is a good mother,” Li Xue stated.
“That’s exactly why I feel so awful,” Tang Yu turned to look at her. “So, I shouldn’t complain about Ye Sihan, should I just give of myself unconditionally? Sister Xue, I want to go to the Ye Mansion tonight.”
“To do… what?”
“Ye Sihan… likes the noodles I make,” Tang Yu turned her face away.
“Alright, whatever you decide to do, I’ll support you,” Li Xue said gently.
When it was deep into the quiet of the night, the sound of a car engine broke the silence.
A black Rolls-Royce tore through the night and swiftly arrived, stopping at the door.
A pair of long legs emerged from the car, and a tall figure stepped out, exuding a cold and profound oppressive feeling.
Entering the hall, sharp black eyes scanned to one side before abruptly pausing.
Tang Yu came from the direction of the kitchen. “You’re back? Have you had dinner? I’ve made noodles.”
Ye Sihan stared at her, his gaze as deep as an abyss, but remained silent.
Made uncomfortable by his stare, Tang Yu said, “I’ll get you a serving,” and turned back towards the kitchen.
Ye Sihan sat at the dining table, and soon, a bowl of noodles was placed before him.
Tang Yu handed him chopsticks.
Ye Sihan lifted his black eyes, pinning her with a sharp look that pierced to her core.
“What’s… what’s wrong?”
“Need something from me?”
“No, not at all? I just thought you might want to eat the noodles I made, so I came over,” Tang Yu pressed her lips together, “You said to come whenever called; I thought I could do better.”
Ye Sihan glanced at her, took the chopsticks, and began eating the noodles.
Tang Yu stood to the side without moving.
Watching Ye Sihan eat, her state of mind was completely different than before.
She would always think of his hard days in the past when he was a male escort.
Maybe even spending time in a rented room eating instant noodles, not knowing if there would be a next meal.
And all this was caused by her mother, Yu Zhaohui.
“Do you… want coffee?” Tang Yu, unable to stand around idly, asked.
“Go to the wine cellar, get some wine, and bring it to my room.”
“Understood.”
Tang Yu went to the wine cellar; it was her first time there. The wines were lined up in rows, all extremely expensive, especially the rare collections, which were impossible to find on the market.
She picked a bottle of whiskey and took it to Ye Sihan’s room.
At the bar in the adjacent living room, she began to open the bottle.
The bedroom door was pushed open from outside, and Ye Sihan’s tall figure came into view, spreading an oppressive presence in every corner of the room.
Tang Yu hurriedly asked, “Would you like to drink now?”
Ye Sihan took off his suit jacket, tossing it on the sofa, and with one hand, unbuttoned his shirt at the collar, as if tearing open a restraint.
It was disconcerting to watch.
