Chapter 47 -47: What the Gentleman Made Me Do That Night
Tang Yu couldn’t speak as tears streamed down her face.
“Your actions will only make your situation more dangerous. Understand?”
“Umm…” Tang Yu’s tears and saliva spilled everywhere.
After a seemingly endless period, Tang Yu was tossed onto the sofa like a broken rag doll.
Tang Yu clung to the sofa, coughing, her face flushed red, nearly suffocating to death.
The next second, her chin was lifted again, her shattered face tilted upward, tears swirling in her eyes.
“How does it taste? Good?” Ye Sihan looked down at her like the Devil himself.
Tang Yu’s long eyelashes were damp with moisture from her tears, her lips trembling.
Perhaps it was the aftereffect of the alcohol that made her recklessly bold. She stood up, wrapped her arms around Ye Sihan’s neck, and kissed his thin lips.
And she attempted to deepen the kiss.
This time it was Ye Sihan who was caught off guard, and after a moment of stunned pause, he pushed Tang Yu away forcefully.
Tang Yu fell back onto the sofa, her eyes defiantly staring at him, looking untamed.
Ye Sihan’s gaze was filled with hostility. “What are you doing?”
“I don’t know how to describe this taste, so I had to let you taste it yourself,” Tang Yu said.
Ye Sihan’s dark pupils stared at her motionless, then he laughed out of sheer rage, “The alcohol’s made you brave, very good.”
Tang Yu realized something was wrong and scrambled to her feet to run.
In her haste, she chose a careless path, stumbled in her unsteady steps, and banged her head against the door with a thump.
She collapsed, unconscious.
Ye Sihan walked over slowly, looking down from his height at Tang Yu’s unconscious face, his dark eyes cold and inscrutable.
When Tang Yu woke up, she was in her own bed, looking left and right. It was definitely her own room, and she was still dressed in her nightgown.
Her mind was a chaotic mess, yet everything from last night was crystal clear.
How she was humiliated by Ye Sihan, how she had kissed Ye Sihan aggressively, how she had run away and fainted.
She knew nothing of what happened afterward.
How had she awoken in her own bed?
The door quietly opened. “Tang Yu, you’re awake? I was just coming to check on you.”
“Sister Xue, I… how did I get back?”
“People from the crew called me, said you drank too much and asked me to take you home. So, I went to the bar,” Li Xue said, looking at her pale face. “How much did they make you drink? Your forehead is still swollen. They said you fell.”
Tang Yu reached for her forehead and felt a bump that was painful to touch.
“Yeah, I fell by myself,” she said.
This must have been arranged by Ye Sihan.
Still, her heart was pounding with fear. After defying Ye Sihan like that last night, could she really be okay? She deeply regretted her impulsiveness. Why had she been so rash?
She hadn’t yet recovered from her cold and Li Xue was going to be with Luo Bingbing all day. Tang Yu would have to stay behind to pick up the child and take care of them.
So, she called the crew to take a day off, saying she felt unwell.
The crew disagreed, and the director was extremely angry over the phone.
Did they think she’d insist on going if they didn’t want her there? After hanging up, she didn’t bother with them anymore.
How much difference would it make if a secondary actress like her took a day off? It was obvious they just didn’t want to make things easy for her.
Faced with the choice between “fearing Ye Sihan” and “staying to care for the child,” Tang Yu chose the latter.
No one could surpass the place her child held in her heart, not even Yu Zhaohui.
In the morning, Tang Yu cleaned the house. In the afternoon, she prepared to take a nap to gather strength to spend time with the child.
These past few days had been hectic, and she hadn’t been able to properly accompany them. She wondered how adorably aggrieved their little faces looked.
But just as she lay down, her phone rang.
It was a call from the crew. Pretending not to see it, she lay down to sleep.
Less than ten minutes later, Li Xue’s phone rang.
Of course, Tang Yu would answer Li Xue’s call.
“Sister Xue.”
“Tang Yu, you’re deliberately not answering the director’s calls, aren’t you? Who do you think you are?” Luo Bingbing’s voice was furious and scornful.
“Why are you using Sister Xue’s phone to call me? Where is Sister Xue?”
“Her? She’s probably at the police station being interrogated right now!”
Tang Yu sat up, shocked. “What do you mean?”
“Of course she was taken away by the police because she hurt someone with an eyebrow razor!”
“Impossible, Sister Xue isn’t that kind of person.”
“Isn’t it better to ask the police? They never wrongfully accuse people.”
Tang Yu had no choice but to rush to the film crew to understand the situation.
Everyone said that Li Xue had a conflict with a staff member and then cut the staff member’s arm with the eyebrow razor, causing quite a bit of bleeding, requiring hospital care.
They talked as if they had seen it with their own eyes, but when asked, only Li Xue and that injured staff member were present at the scene.
Tang Yu then ran to the hospital to find the staff member.
The staff member claimed Li Xue had injured him and also said that he would seek legal responsibility.
How could Tang Yu let Li Xue go to jail?
She pleaded desperately with the staff member, offering any amount of money, but the staff member refused the money, insisting on Li Xue going to jail.
Tang Yu went to the police station to find Li Xue, but she wasn’t even allowed to see her shadow.
Then she sought out a lawyer, who told her that the issue was with the staff member; if he were to press charges, nobody could help her.
Li Xue would have to serve three years in prison.
When Tang Yu heard about the real possibility of prison, her legs went weak.
Putting her hopes on the staff member, she made her way to the hospital again, only to be told that the person had already been discharged.
She got the staff member’s mobile number and address from the crew.
But even with this, he ignored her, shutting her out decisively.
Tang Yu, still unwilling to give up, lingered outside his door.
Perhaps the person inside couldn’t bear it any longer and opened the door to let her in.
“Really, I apologize on behalf of Li Xue. You can name your price, I’m sure it was an accident, wasn’t it?”
“She didn’t hurt me. I did it to myself,” the staff member said.
“What? That’s wrong of you!” Tang Yu was astounded, “Isn’t that harming someone? Where is your conscience?”
“Mr. Ye made me do it.”
Tang Yu’s anger dissipated upon hearing the staff member’s confession, and she stood there stunned, her mind in disarray, asking uncertainly, “Ye… Ye Sihan?”
“Yes.”
Tang Yu left the staff member’s home and walked aimlessly on the pedestrian pathway.
So, everything was orchestrated and controlled by Ye Sihan, including the staff member ‘kindly’ telling her the truth so that she would go to him for help!
She thought that the defiance she had shown the night before had passed with the night.
But it was here, waiting for her…
And now Li Xue was in trouble because of it!
How could Tang Yu allow Li Xue to end up in jail? Coming back to her senses, she first called Ye Sihan, unsurprisingly, the call went unanswered, so she took a cab straight to the KING Group.
Upon arriving at the KING Group, she faced no obstacles in entry.
Tang Yu knocked on Ye Sihan’s office door, but there was no response from inside.
“Tang Yu?”
Tang Yu turned around to see Xiao Yu and quickly asked, “Where is Mr. Ye?”
“Mr. Ye just left.”
“Is he going back to the Ye Mansion?”
“He should be.”
Without wasting a moment, Tang Yu turned and left immediately, hailing a taxi and heading straight for the Ye Mansion.
Traffic was jammed on the road, delaying her trip. By the time she reached the Ye Mansion, the sky was already dark.
She got out of the cab but couldn’t get through the Ye Mansion’s iron gates.
All she could do was stand there and pound on the door, “Mr. Ye, it’s Tang Yu, Mr. Ye, please let me in, I have something to say to you!”
But no matter how much she banged on the door, no one answered.
Her feelings at that moment were as helpless and desperate as the day Ye Sihan had locked her in a room.
This matter needed to be resolved quickly; otherwise, Li Xue would spend the night in the police station, and what’s more, the longer it dragged on, the more it would seem like a challenge to Ye Sihan.
After another half-hour, someone came.
It wasn’t a servant, nor was it Ye Sihan, but Luo Bingbing.
Tang Yu was surprised to see her.
