Chapter 59 -59: Feeling a Bit Unaccustomed

“Mr. Ye has decided to provide financial support to the children of the Beijing Institute, which is good for publicity.”

Tang Yu saw Xiao Yu flipping through a folder and studying the information on it, which made her heart nearly stop. The next second, she reached out eagerly with her hand, “This isn’t… Oh no!”

Her hand knocked over the coffee cup, spilling coffee on the documents.

Xiao Yu was too late to stop it; the documents were dripping with coffee. He wiped them with tissue paper, and although the text was still legible, how could he present documents reeking of coffee to Mr. Ye!

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry!” Tang Yu was frightened and hurriedly apologized.

“It’s nothing, it’s okay.”

“The text is still readable. Should I go and make another photocopy?” Tang Yu suggested. “Otherwise, if Mr. Ye finds out, I’ll be in trouble again.”

Xiao Yu, not suspecting her, simply said, “Fine.”

Tang Yu left the office with the coffee-stained documents and headed straight to the copy room.

Once inside the empty copy room, she immediately opened the fake mother’s information stored on her phone and entered it into the computer.

Tang Yu had made such preparations on her way to the office.

It was fine if someone saw the child’s information; only the mother’s details were altered.

The fake mother was Li Xue’s friend, who had also instructed her on how to handle phone calls from KING Corporation, to just get through this obstacle.

Sitting in front of the computer, Tang Yu quickly operated, erasing her name and phone number completely, replacing them with others.

Xiao Yu was handling other matters in his office when the landline on the desk rang. He answered it—a call from the reception desk, “Mr. Ye has arrived.”

“Alright”

He set down the documents he had finished processing, remembering that there was another set of documents with Tang Yu that had not been dealt with yet.

It’s better to deliver everything at once rather than in two separate batches, as that would reduce efficiency.

This was something to be especially avoided when working for Mr. Ye.

Xiao Yu left his office and went toward the copy room.

Tang Yu, sitting in front of the computer, heard Xiao Yu and an assistant talking outside, and her heart tightened.

When Xiao Yu entered the copy room, he saw Tang Yu with a file in her hand, heading out, and asked, “Is it done?”

“Yes, do you think this is okay?” Tang Yu opened the file folder.

Xiao Yu took it, glanced over it, and said, “If it’s the same, it’s fine.”

Tang Yu appeared calm on the surface, but felt guilty on the inside.

Except for the section on the mother’s information, the rest was indeed the same.

They left the copy room together and just happened to see Sihan Ye coming out of the elevator, his tall stature exuding a strong sense of oppression.

Tang Yu’s heart tightened, and she immediately tensed up, standing behind Xiao Yu with her head lowered.

“Mr. Ye,” Xiao Yu nodded slightly, “Tang Yu wishes to see you.”

Tang Yu pressed her lips together, and when she met Sihan Ye’s inscrutable and fierce gaze, her pupils shrank.

Sihan Ye headed to the office, and Tang Yu, not daring to delay, followed.

Thinking of something, she changed directions towards the pantry.

Inside, an assistant was making coffee. Tang Yu hurried over, “Shall I do it?”

The assistant nodded, handed the task over to her, and then left.

Tang Yu brewed the coffee and, holding it, knocked on Sihan Ye’s office door.

Only after hearing his deep, commanding voice did she push the door open and enter.

Upon entering Sihan Ye’s office, she immediately felt suffocated by his overwhelming aura.

She set the coffee down on the table, “Mr. Ye, your coffee.”

Sihan Ye glanced at her and remained silent.

With just a glance from him, Tang Yu grew nervous and asked, “Do I have to stay in the entertainment industry forever? I feel a bit out of place…”

Sihan Ye turned to look at her, his deep eyes like black holes, capable of swallowing someone whole.

“I know I shouldn’t make such a request, but… I will be obedient from now on,” Tang Yu said with feigned submissiveness.

After she finished speaking, she felt the pressure of his presence closing in, making it difficult for her to breathe.

Her jaw was grasped and lifted, “Is this what you call being obedient?”

Tang Yu bit her lip, looking uneasy.

Indeed, if she had been obedient, she wouldn’t have made such a request, but would have simply followed whatever Ye Sihan arranged for her.

“Forget it then, pretend I never mentioned it…” Tang Yu’s gaze shifted away.

She had originally just come to make conversation and hadn’t expected Ye Sihan to actually indulge her.

“Want to come back?” Ye Sihan’s deep black eyes bore into hers.

Tang Yu was momentarily stunned, ‘coming back’ referred to returning to KING Group, but she had not expected Ye Sihan to ask this.

Therefore, she was unprepared for what kind of response would satisfy Ye Sihan’s profound thoughts.

Truthfully, she would rather stay in the entertainment industry; it was freer, and it was more convenient to manipulate things from behind the scenes.

Just as she was about to speak, a knock sounded on the office door.

Ye Sihan’s dark eyes held hers for a moment before he withdrew his gaze and turned around with a commanding tone, “Come in.”

The person who entered was Xiao Yu, and Tang Yu instinctively moved to the side.

Ye Sihan had already seated himself in the black chair, leaning back with an intense, sharp aura, displaying a naturally intimidating presence.

Xiao Yu handed over a file, saying, “These are the quadruplets selected by Beijing for investment. Please have a look.”

Ye Sihan opened the folder; in the front was information, followed by pictures of the quadruplets.

They were beautiful and adorably soft, so much so that even just from the photographs, one couldn’t help but want to pinch their squishy cheeks.

As Ye Sihan viewed the photos, Tang Yu slowed her breathing, intently watching his facial expressions.

When she saw Ye Sihan’s eyebrows slightly furrow, Tang Yu’s heart nearly stopped beating.

“Mr. Ye, what’s the matter? Is something wrong?” Xiao Yu also noticed Ye Sihan’s reaction and asked.

“It’s nothing, I saw them at the school ribbon-cutting ceremony last time.”

Xiao Yu said, “To bump into quadruplets at a ribbon-cutting and then for the investment targets to also be quadruplets, this shows that the quadruplets have quite a fate with Mr. Ye.”

Standing aside, Tang Yu listened without daring to breathe too loudly.

She really hoped Xiao Yu would stop speaking.

It was as if by talking like this, Ye Sihan would discover that the children were hers.

Xiao Yu continued, “I have already contacted the mother of the quadruplets. Initially, she refused, but after I pointed out many benefits, she agreed.”

“???” Tang Yu was shocked.

Her shock was so conspicuous that it caught the attention of both Ye Sihan and Xiao Yu.

Steadying her nerves, Tang Yu said, “That… It’s just surprising that someone would refuse Mr. Ye’s sponsorship.”

Xiao Yu said, “Yes, the sponsorship covers education until graduation from Beijing City School, which is equivalent to completing middle school. Think of the money saved; it’s like a pie falling from the sky.”

Ye Sihan’s sponsorship wasn’t because he liked children, but for the purposes of promoting Beijing Institute.

This amount of money was negligible for Ye Sihan.

But deep down, Tang Yu was unwilling to accept it.

Because if Ye Sihan became the sponsor of the quadruplets, would there still be opportunities for him to have contact with them in the future?

Watching Ye Sihan sign the document, Tang Yu’s mind was a buzz. What on earth was the other party doing? Hadn’t he been told to flatly refuse, with no need for further discussion?

Yet she agreed!

Once Ye Sihan signed his name, it could not be changed.

“Are you daydreaming?” A low and chilling voice sounded.

Tang Yu quickly snapped out of her reverie, only to realize that Xiao Yu had left with the file at some point.

“I still need to go to the set, so I won’t bother Mr. Ye any longer.” Right now, she couldn’t wait to leave.

Ye Sihan’s sharp gaze fixed on her as he commanded, “Come here.”
