Chapter 96: Chapter 96: What Privacy Do I Have Left?

Chapter 96 -96: What Privacy Do I Have Left?

Tang Yu’s body remained tense, and she couldn’t relax immediately upon hearing Li Xue’s voice.

“Nothing… It’s nothing, I just pressed the wrong button by accident, that’s all.” Tang Yu didn’t wait for Li Xue to speak, she snatched the phone away and hung up. She looked at the man in front of her with displeasure, “Can you let go of me now?”

The suspicion in Ye Sihan’s dark eyes dissipated, and Xu Yu withdrew his arms in a moment.

Only then did Tang Yu’s breathing become smooth, and she stood up straight, but her complexion was still not great.

“What’s the matter, not happy?”

“Being suspected for no reason makes me feel uncomfortable, which is normal, right? It’s always a hassle for me.” Tang Yu said in a low voice, her voice tinged with grievance.

Ye Sihan hooked her chin and slightly lifted it, his dark eyes staring intently, “You should have no secrets in front of me.”

“What privacy do I have left? Even the reissuing of my passport was discovered by you,” thought Tang Yu, as her mind raced to the one secret that she couldn’t let him find out – her child. “I was nervous when I saw you entering the room, without considering what you did last night… it was frightening…”

A hint of blush emerged on her face, showing her annoyed shyness.

Ye Sihan looked at her with knowing eyes, his interest piqued as he asked, “Do you want me to apologize?”

“I wouldn’t dare.” Tang Yu pouted slightly, turning her eyes away.

Ye Sihan observed her petty expressions, a shadowy gloss passing through his eyes, his voice slightly lower, “Are you acting coquettish with me?”

Tang Yu had a look of shock, “I am not!”

The way she acted was very much like trying to hide something in haste.

Ye Sihan’s eyes grew more knowing as he stared at her, a strange swelling sensation in his chest, seemingly touched by an unusual emotion.

He dismissed it as nothing, withdrew his hand, and said in a deep voice, “Where did you live before?”

Tang Yu was slightly startled, understanding what he was asking, “Not around here, why?”

“Before leaving, let’s have a look.” Ye Sihan glanced at her and left the room.

Tang Yu’s expression was slightly astonished.

After hearing the door close, she walked into the bedroom, her legs a bit weak as she sat down on the edge of the bed.

She had been scared to death just now!

Thankfully it was Li Xue who answered the call.

If such a thing happened again, she would faint on the spot! 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘱𝘶𝑏.𝑐𝘰𝑚

But had Ye Sihan finished with his business?

Why on earth did he want to visit her former place? What was there to see? She didn’t think it was worth Ye Sihan taking the trouble to make a special visit given his busy schedule.

That thought made Tang Yu anxious.

Upon reflection, it seemed unnecessary; the place where she lived before didn’t have anyone she knew well, and after leaving for a year, it was unlikely that anyone would remember her.

Although it was only self-comfort, due to the inability to fathom Ye Sihan’s thoughts, she inevitably felt nervous.

Feeling distressed, Tang Yu got up and went to the bathroom to text Li Xue: I was scared to death, it was Ye Sihan who called!

Li Xue: Did he suspect something?

Tang Yu: Probably not, I thought he wasn’t at home when I answered the call, but then he suddenly appeared. He saw how nervous I was and started to suspect something. Thankfully, the kids didn’t answer.

Li Xue: I was cooking, and the kids took my phone to call you because they missed their mom. Afterwards, they felt aggrieved, saying mom hung up on them. You called again later, which I found strange.

Tang Yu felt relieved that Li Xue reacted quickly, saving her from this predicament.

After a night without incident, the next morning, Tang Yu had breakfast with Ye Sihan.

She was able to adjust her jet lag so quickly thanks to the torment that Ye Sihan gave her on the plane, which inverted her days and nights.

In the morning, they went to the place she had once lived.

Why hadn’t she lied, leading Ye Sihan to someplace else?

Mainly because she was too wary of Ye Sihan’s shrewdness.

There was no need to arouse his suspicion over such trivial matters.

“I lived right there,” said Tang Yu, pointing to one side of the pedestrian walkway. “It was rented, an old lady’s house. I moved away from here and returned to my country after she passed away. I lived here for a few years, but I still prefer home. There’s nothing much to see here.”

Ye Sihan’s sharp gaze lightly swept the row upon row of houses, “Transportation is inconvenient here.”

“It was cheap. I was still a student at that time, so I had to save money.” Tang Yu said, and then, as if realizing something, she immediately clamped her mouth shut.

Because back then, her opportunity to study abroad was solely because Yu Zhaohui covered her expenses with Ye Xianghua’s money.

Carefully glimpsing at Ye Sihan’s expression, Tang Yu found that he had no reaction.

She just considered herself lucky that he hadn’t noticed.

Quickly changing the subject, “Shall we go somewhere else?” She stepped forward, grabbed his hand, and walked ahead.

Ye Sihan lowered his gaze, staring at the fair fingers clutching his hand, his dark eyes faintly stunned.

Tang Yu also realized something, her face grew uncomfortable, and she let go of his hand.

At that moment, a light rain began to fall from the sky.

Tang Yu froze, looked up, and the tiny raindrops fell upon her face.

Her heart panicked, why was it raining?

Her mind immediately recalled the previous downpour and her miserable experience.

Not more bad luck… she hoped.

No sooner had she thought this than everything went dark, a piece of clothing dropped over her head, covering her upper body completely, shielding her from the light drizzle outside.

Tang Yu was startled, then regained her wits, looking at the tall man close by.

His suit jacket was now off, leaving him in a black dress shirt which was custom-fitted, hugging his firm physique, with lines that highlighted broad shoulders and a narrow waist.

“Let’s go,” Ye Sihan said in a deep voice.

“Oh,” Tang Yu nodded.

When they had come this way earlier, they hadn’t had the car follow them, so they walked to the front and took shelter from the rain in someone’s garage.

The garage was just a rudimentary shed.

Ye Sihan was making a call to the driver beside her.

Tang Yu glanced at him, noticing that the black dress shirt hid how wet he was getting.

Some of his slicked-back hair had fallen, resting above his brow, softening the sharp and aggressive angles of his side profile.

Someone was coming down the road ahead. Tang Yu looked over without meaning to.

It was a man.

He looked familiar at first, and when she realized it was her landlord’s son, she was stunned!

Because it was the landlord’s son who came to collect her rent.

He had also seen her four little ones and had spoken to her.

He was all too familiar!

But the old lady’s son only came this way to collect rent; it was such a coincidence!

What if he saw her, approached enthusiastically to greet her, and asked about her children? What then?

Just then, Ye Sihan had finished his call.

Without thinking, Tang Yu wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her lips to his.

Ye Sihan’s dark pupils widened in shock, but he didn’t push her away. Instead, he shifted from passive to active, lowering his head, his hand cradling the back of her head, he deepened the kiss.

A foreign man passed by and saw a man and a woman deeply kissing; the man was stooped, concealing the girl’s face with his.

The man was tall, and the girl seemed delicate in his embrace; the contrast between their strengths was clear.

He raised an eyebrow, didn’t think much of it, though he did take an additional moment to enjoy the sight before moving on.

“Mmm…” Tang Yu gasped for breath when she was released, almost suffocating.

Ye Sihan’s fingertips brushed across her flushed lips, his dark eyes knowing, “Seducing me again, hmm?”

“I… I was just trying to please you,” Tang Yu had no other reason to give.

Noticing the foreign man had left, she felt a sense of relief, even if she had nearly been devoured by Ye Sihan.

Both their mouths were damp, it was unclear whose saliva was whose.

Ye Sihan’s dark eyes looked down at her blushing face, “Please me when we get back.”

His long legs climbed into the car, and his gaze intentionally swept elsewhere, after all, Tang Yu’s sudden initiative was too strange.

In the end, he didn’t perceive anything amiss and so let it go.
