Yan Xiao picked up the radio communicator and began passing the message to each person in turn.
About a minute later, they reached the highway intersection, and all the vehicles came to a stop.
Han Yi and Lu Changyuan got out of the car to select the people they needed.
Han Jiaojiao left Pepper in the car and followed Han Yi off the vehicle, wondering why an Alien Species would appear during the daytime.
Han Yi selected six people, including himself and Han Jiaojiao, making a total of eight.

Guards are evolved forms of common Alien Species, not only larger in size but also superior in strength and speed. Moreover, most Guards have Abilities.
But... how could these people have provoked the Guards? Could it be that they ventured into the nest of the Alien Species?
Han Yi clasped her hand back and gave her a reassuring smile, "Stay close to me later on, okay?"
"Mm."
The group armed themselves and moved forward, soon spotting a vehicle ahead.
It was supposed to be an armored transport, dark grey and very sturdy. However, at the moment, it was full of collision and clawing marks and tilted askew against the central concrete barrier of the expressway. Two Alien Species relentlessly circled the vehicle, occasionally ramming into it. Around them lay some corpses of Alien Species, their black blood almost congealed, staining the asphalt road in large patches.
Only after seeing these two Alien Species did they understand what Han Yi meant by quite large.
Almost everyone here had confronted an Alien Species face-to-face before. The ordinary Alien Species were over two meters tall, at most around two and a half meters; but these two were nearly three meters tall, almost the size of an Empress.
And they looked even more robust, their features more terrifying, and their body color deeper.
Xiao Jian used binoculars and murmured, "They have wounds on their bodies that have stopped bleeding. The fight must have taken place last night."
Han Yi nodded, "It suddenly turned cloudy yesterday, and these Superpower Users probably didn’t make it back to the base in time. They accidentally encountered the Alien Species, and after exhausting their Abilities, they hid in the vehicle."
Looking at the scattered corpses of Alien Species on the ground, mixed with a few human ones, it was clear that a fierce battle had occurred here last night.
The people who hid in the vehicle might have been hoping to last until dawn when the Alien Species would disperse, but they hadn’t expected the furious Guards to stay.

Xiao Jian raised his sniper rifle and took aim, firing a shot in the distance.

The bullet aimed at the head hit the right chest instead because the Alien Species suddenly leapt up. A bullet in the chest would be fatal to a human, but for an Alien Species, it hardly affected their movement.
The wounded Guard was enraged and let out a piercing, high-pitched scream in their direction.
Xiao Jian fired several shots in rapid succession, some hitting their mark and some missing, as every bullet avoided the vital points deflected by the Guards.
Two Alien Species charged at them at a breakneck pace—as swift as lightning—accompanied by that familiar foul stench.
Everybody focused their gunfire on the approaching threat, shots ringing out incessantly!
In the midst of the barrages of bullets, the Alien Species suddenly leapt into the air! Their massive bodies stretched out, casting a shadow like an eclipse as they pounced from above!
Fire Type Superpower Users collaboratively erected an exceedingly high wall of fire! However, inexplicably, water gushed out from midair, and the moment water met fire, a fierce hissing sound erupted, swelling into a huge cloud of white steam on the spot! The area around them became shrouded in billowing steam.
Suddenly! Countless icicles pierced through the mist, shooting towards them like arrows!
The icicles were moving too fast! No one had time to prepare, watching helplessly as the sharp and pointed ice flew towards them, only to suddenly shatter into pieces! Everyone woke up from their shock, realizing Han Yi’s Mental Shield had activated.
To be precise, this wasn’t really a Mental Shield.
Because Han Yi used his spiritual power to envelop the Alien Species along with the icicles inside, while the people were on the outside of the barrier.
Sensing something was amiss, the Alien Species desperately rammed against the barrier, each collision causing significant mental fluctuations for Han Yi.

The barrier shrank along with his hand gestures. Han Jiaojiao didn’t look at the Alien Species; she stared fixedly at Han Yi, noticing the fine beads of sweat on his forehead, and couldn’t help but call out gently, "Brother..."
Han Yi looked down at her, a smile playing at his lips, and murmured softly, "Baby, do you want to try using your Ability?"
Han Jiaojiao had always practiced her Ability with various small Mutant Beasts. She had only tried it once on an Alien Species, which was last time at the construction site, and it had failed.
Han Jiaojiao looked at the two Alien Species squished together and unable to move, hesitating.
She knew it wouldn’t be difficult for her brother to kill them, but to maintain this state was incredibly taxing. She felt sorry for her brother.
Han Yi gently nudged her, "Don’t be scared, I’m here."
Han Jiaojiao bit her lip and walked over to the Guards.
The Guards had tougher skin membranes than ordinary Alien Species, and Han Jiaojiao realized after activating her Ability, it was hard to manipulate the water inside the Alien Species’ bodies through this layer of skin.
