Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Capture It Alive
A group of people took a detour from the alien species-dense area and arrived at the hospital successfully.
Han Yi, who was leading the group, stopped, gently shook his gun-holding hand, and the people behind exchanged glances, silently raising their guns to recheck the silencers and cautiously scanning the surrounding area.
In the city, there were alien species that congregated in nests as well as those that roamed about. The solitary ones were either out hunting and had not managed to return to their nests in time, or they had not yet joined any fixed nests.
In this hospital, every floor harbored a few of these solitary alien species. They might have come here in search of food, or they might have been doctors or patients who, after mutation, never left the building.
When Han Yi and the others entered the hospital, these alien species were asleep.
The sleeping posture of the alien species was unique — they usually chose a corner, squatting on the ground with their knees bent, their massive heads buried between their knees, resembling a giant embryo about one meter tall in the corner.
They slept so deeply that Han Jiaojiao could approach them unnoticed. She drew her dagger, a flash of the blade, and the dagger plunged into the brain of an alien species. With a gentle lever, she withdrew it, and the alien quietly died without changing its position.
Yan Xiao and Bai Kairui found it unbelievable, but they did not dare to do as she did. If they stabbed the wrong spot and woke the alien, and if it shouted, it would likely wake up all the alien species in the hospital.

Once they had swept through every floor, clean, Han Yi took Han Jiaojiao’s hand, opened a space portal in the center of the spiral staircase, and a vortex slowly rotated in the air. It resembled a huge black hole, continuously sucking in medical equipment and various instruments from each floor. The entire process lasted only about three to five minutes and made no sound.
—The space vortex slowly shrunk until it disappeared. Everyone simultaneously breathed a sigh of relief.
With that, their task was halfway complete.
"The pharmacy is on the first floor."
"Did we not clean the first floor?" Yan Xiao walked downstairs, treading lightly.
Han Yi, holding Han Jiaojiao’s hand, slowly walked down. "There are seven on the first floor."
The group descended the stairs slowly, Han Yi and Han Jiaojiao went to the pharmacy, while the other three went to kill alien species. After Han Yi and Han Jiaojiao had taken the medicine from the hospital’s stock, they stepped out of the pharmacy, when suddenly a piercing alarm sounded!—
Yan Xiao was about to throw a Fireball at an alien species when the alarm abruptly woke it up! It jumped to its feet! Its deformity at two meters and four surged toward Yan Xiao! Xiao Jian and Bai Kairui frantically opened fire! Everyone immediately descended into chaos!
In a moment of urgency, Han Jiaojiao shouted, "Run outside where the sunlight is!"
The sunlight affected the vision of the alien species and somewhat restricted their mobility. They all hastily retreated toward the hospital’s main entrance, but a few alien species from the first floor that weren’t killed closely pursued them!
One of them, hearing Han Jiaojiao’s voice, turned and leapt toward them! Han Yi frowned slightly, and his spiritual power surged out like a tide. "Jiaojiao!!"
"There’s another one!!"
Han Jiaojiao could no longer care about anything else, for these Alien Species, clearly bullying the weak and fearing the strong, had all focused their attack on her! No, she needed cover!
Han Jiaojiao glanced and saw a nearby parking lot; she immediately scrambled up from the ground and ran towards one of the cars!—One of the Alien Species leaped high, its razor-sharp claw nearly slashing open her scalp, the sunlight causing it to lose precise direction, but its speed was too fast, missing once could still allow it to strike twice, three times, or even four times!
Han Jiaojiao sharply inhaled, fell to the ground, and rolled to the side! She quickly dodged under one of the cars, covering her mouth and nose, daring not to make the slightest noise!
She heard gunshots and the sounds of exploding flames from under the car, but they clearly missed their target! Another Alien Species, having smelled her, came sniffing around. It half threw itself into the car, gnashing its teeth and growling, flailing its arms, trying to find the individual who had disturbed its sleep despite being blind!
Suddenly! The car violently shook, followed by intense contraction! Squeezing! Twisting! Like a can forcefully crushed!
Han Jiaojiao crawled out from under the car, staring in shock at the scene unfolding before her.
If the car was a crushed can, then the Alien Species was like a lizard accidentally trapped inside it, its body completely stuck, with only the lower parts of its legs protruding outside.
Seeing her safe and sound, Han Yi felt a relief wash over him. He had been entangled by that speed type Alien Species for a moment and couldn’t intervene; thankfully, she was unharmed...
Han Jiaojiao ran over, seeing Han Yi’s slightly pale face, and inspected him with concern, "Brother, are you alright? Are you injured?"
Han Yi embraced her, letting out a slight breath. He was alright, just a bit spent, and a little rest would suffice. "It was a Mutant Beast outside that triggered a car alarm," said Xiao Jian, walking up to the twisted wreck of the car, with sweat still on his face from the battle, "Han Bro, how should we handle this one?" The trapped Alien Species was not yet dead.
Han Yi took a minivan out of the space, then fetched a thick hemp rope, saying, "Wrap it around a few times, tie it to the back of the car and drag it back."
Originally, they had planned to retreat from the hospital and then seek out solitary Alien Species wandering outside, but this one coming their way was an unexpected gain amidst dangers.
Kerry fiercely dug into another speed type Alien Species, extracting a large Crystal Core; he wiped it off, prepared to hand it to Han Yi.
For a while now, the larger Crystal Cores had been used by Han Yi, with the others sharing the smaller ones equally among themselves, a distribution arrangement that had become an accepted norm.
Yet Han Yi only glanced faintly at the Crystal Core, saying, "Give it to Xiao Jian." He hoped the speed type Alien Species’s Crystal Core would make Xiao Jian’s speed a bit faster, for if today Xiao Jian’s speed had been faster than this Alien Species, they wouldn’t have needed to be in such a distressing situation.
"In the future, if you come across a Crystal Core that matches your Ability, there’s no need to hand it over to me," Han Yi said, then, embracing Han Jiaojiao, got into the car.
Without further discussion, everyone cleaned up on the spot and drove back.
When they reached the crossroads where they had parked earlier, Xiao Jian tied the hemp rope to the rear of the HUMVEE; the minivan led in front, with the HUMVEE dragging the Alien Species behind, moving towards the base one behind the other.
