After returning to the Base Hospital, Lin Tianhui immediately arranged for Su Jin to have a pregnancy check-up.
The check-up went very smoothly, and in order not to attract too much attention, Su Jin only brought her aunt Huang Yunxiang with her. She had refused the company of several men in the family for various reasons.

Huang Yunxiang excitedly asked while looking at the screen. The little ones’ heads were round, like animated cartoon monks. Although the images were in black and white, they were incredibly adorable.
"The fetus receives nutrients through the mother’s umbilical cord while in the womb, that’s just a reflex action,"
Doctor Liu Mo said with a smile as she conducted Su Jin’s examination.
Being an obstetrician, she had been itching to do this for a long time. Before the apocalypse, she used to attend to hundreds of pregnant women every day at the hospital. This kind of work had become a routine to her, and even though she was able to continue working as a doctor at the Base Hospital later, there had been no pregnant women for her to examine. She had been looking forward to this day for a very long time.

"Doctor Liu, these are some things we found while out. Thank you for everything,"
Su Jin said, as she might need this doctor’s care when it was time to give birth, so she prepared some gifts to express her gratitude.
"This is too valuable, you should take it and nourish yourself, I can’t accept this,"
Liu Mo was still marveling at how much Su Jin’s backpack could hold with all these items, but she also knew they were valuable. She was only doing her job; it wouldn’t be right to accept them.
However, after the enthusiastic persuasion of the three women, Liu Mo ultimately accepted the gifts, partly because Lin Tianhui mentioned that these items would spoil soon if not consumed, and remembering her thirteen-year-old son who was still growing back at the base, Liu Mo finally compromised.
"You don’t know the gender of the babies yet, do you?"
