Chapter 683: Chapter 683: Dilemma
"Why are you here?" Bai Xiao wondered, but still pretended not to recognize An Zhiyuan. She did not know who might be watching them nor why An Zhiyuan had come here, anyway, their relationship was cursed in this lifetime.
Whenever something came up, Bai Xiao would always run into An Zhiyuan. She couldn’t figure out how fate had arranged this.
"Don’t say so much, this place is very dangerous, you must leave immediately," Wu Yalan, standing beside An Zhiyuan, tightened her grip on his arm and involuntarily leaned on An Zhiyuan’s sturdy arm, watching Bai Xiao with a smirk.
An Zhiyuan glared at Wu Yalan, who felt somewhat guilty and stepped back a little, pretending to fan herself with the fan in her hand, and let go of An Zhiyuan.
"I cannot leave now; you’ve seen that. You do your job, and I’ll do mine. Don’t worry, I won’t hold you back," Bai Xiao said coldly, turning her head to the side, her expression indifferent.
Even though she was on a mission, seeing this kind of scene, she wasn’t a fool. It was obvious that this woman was interested in An Zhiyuan. These things often lead to feelings between a man and a woman working together, just like the cheating men and women who develop feelings over time and end up using ’true love’ as a cover.
She despised doubting An Zhiyuan, but her heart was still uncomfortable.
"Bai..." 𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙥𝒖𝒃.𝒄𝒐𝒎
"Doctor Bai, alright! The money has been paid; let’s go to the Stone Gambling Area," Shao Ming and Baldy approached with uneasy expressions. They had been laughed at along the way, and both were feeling very on edge.
Bai Xiao walked away with her head held high, followed closely by the two men as if they were bodyguards.
An Zhiyuan straightened up, his facial muscles stiffening, his heart feeling bitter. That girl must be really angry.
Wu Yalan moved closer, "Sang Ji also went to see Stone Gambling, we must go too," she whispered to An Zhiyuan, who kept watching the girl out of the corner of his eye, feeling indignant inside. Did she think she was invisible?
Why did he act as if he didn’t see her, even though she was right beside him? Luckily, she had Sang Ji as an excuse.
An Zhiyuan looked up and sure enough, there was Sang Ji, swaggering through the crowd with his bodyguards. No one would have thought Sang Ji could be so bold as to bring so many bodyguards to the public market conference. It seemed that Sang Ji had a good relationship with the owner of the pit, otherwise, these owners were not to be trifled with, as each had the support of government soldiers behind them.
It looked like it was going to be difficult to take down Sang Ji today. Once outside the auction’s doors, they could not possibly arrest Sang Ji here as this was international territory. Any problem could lead to a diplomatic dispute, but if they missed this chance, Sang Ji could vanish off the face of the earth again.
What a damn dilemma.
An Zhiyuan wanted to ingratiate himself with Sang Ji, but unfortunately, Sang Ji’s interest in Wu Yalan had transferred elsewhere because of Bai Xiao and Liu Chuanfeng’s stone gambling. He couldn’t even remember who Wu Yalan was.
The difficulty had increased this time. What should he do?
He could kill Sang Ji, that was certainly possible, but to get away scot-free was not. And Bai Xiao was still here; any resulting heavy casualties would be unacceptable, but to let Sang Ji continue his wrongdoing?
The comrades who had died would not forgive him for doing so. Thinking of those struggling desperately in the drug rehabilitation centers, Sang Ji’s sins were heavy.
He couldn’t give up his great responsibility because of personal feelings.
But...
They finally reached the Stone Gambling Area.
