Chapter 116: Chapter 107: Mr. Tang, Are You Satisfied Now?_1
After school in the afternoon, Tang Qing split up with Wang Yan at the school gate. Now that Li Kai had a bit of money, he had stopped taking the bus altogether; he took a cab every time and, without any surprise, the money was conjured up from Li Jianguo. The most astonishing part was that he used Tang Qing’s name as an excuse to get the money.
Previously, in order for Li Kai to avoid taking the bus, he told Li Jianguo: "Tang Qing said it himself, why are you still taking the bus when you have money? It’s crowded and slow."
However, shockingly, even such a nonsensical reason was enough for Li Jianguo. Tang Qing, of course, understood Li Jianguo’s reasoning when he found out. Firstly, Tang Qing, as a partner and more so now as a protector, even though his opinion was stated nonchalantly, it had an impact on Li Jianguo. Secondly, he didn’t want his son to be an embarrassment in front of Tang Qing.
Tang Qing inwardly sighed. Li Kai, the father-tricking one, had a good handle on his dad’s mindset.
Once he started getting this extra money for taxi fare every day, Li Kai initially saved the bus money as spare change, but after realizing that saving such a small amount of money was pretty useless, he lost the desire to save. After all, the money for food was separate, and they owned a restaurant. If he had to eat outside, he would rather eat vegetarian. As for his clothes, Li Jianguo was never stingy. Also, wasn’t there the wealthy Tang Qing. Finally, when he realized that saving a few hundred a month from his cab fare had no use, he turned lazy and spent as much as he had.
...
On the way, Tang Qing bought a big bunch of grilled food and was eating while walking. He had the owner add a lot of chili paste because in his past life he couldn’t eat spicy food due to pimples, but in this life, he had no such worries. The spicy flavor from the chili paste was particularly authentic.
In one word, it was satisfying.
Just as Tang Qing arrived at the entrance to the alley where he was previously cornered, he noticed something was wrong. Two people who were clearly thugs advanced towards him as soon as they saw him. Tang Qing also stopped and decided to wait and watch, but he continued to eat his skewer of konjac while his mind raced at top speed to analyze the situation.
They couldn’t possibly be hired by Xie Wendong, could they?
They ended up in the same place as the ones Su Ziwang hired before.
Are they particularly fond of this alley or what?
The fact that Su Ziwang had people treat him this way last time made him despise Su Ziwang. When Su Ziwang gave him money at the school gate, he didn’t really hate him, since after all, it was just throwing money around. He didn’t even take the incident at the hotel to heart, but the act of hiring thugs for revenge, which could potentially hurt a person physically and leave a psychological scar, was what he despised most. If any weak or more fragile students were affected too much and pushed to extremes, it would really hurt a family. This was the main reason he never forgave Su Ziwang.
While Xie Wendong’s previous methods were somewhat despicable, they were still within acceptable limits. However, this current method was something he wouldn’t tolerate.
It seems they don’t want to leave with their faces unslapped. Well, if they insist, this time I’ll slap them even harder. If I don’t teach them a lesson they’ll never forget, they might actually think they can do whatever they please.
Two men blocked Tang Qing’s way. One of them said, "Kid, our boss wants you to come with us. It’s better for you if you don’t resist."
"Alright, lead the way." Tang Qing swallowed his mouthful of konjac and calmly responded. Then, he put the empty skewer back into the bag and took out a sausage to eat.
The two thugs looked at each other with surprise. They may have under-estimated this kid, not showing any fear and casually started eating again as if he felt like they were the ones being taken away.
While the two thugs were surprised, Tang Qing said, "What are you two daydreaming about? Let’s go."
It felt like he was the one leading them and not the other way around.
After saying this, Tang Qing took the lead into the alley, leaving the two thugs to hurriedly follow him, both muttering to themselves. "What the hell just happened?"
Upon entering the alley, Tang Qing was surprised to find quite a few people inside.
Including the two guys behind him, there were seven people in total, but the most critical thing was that Tang Qing spotted Xie Wendong among them.
Tang Qing’s face reflexively twitched.
Had this fool been too arrogant in the past that he forgot the principle of avoiding suspicion?
Even Su Ziwang knew he couldn’t be present himself.
You know it was me, but you got no evidence. But this fool? He jumped straight into the fray himself.
In the previous county, was it fun being so ostentatious?
Xie Wendong, with a savage expression, approached and said, "Tang Qing, you brought this on yourself. You dared to rob Wang Yan from me, caused me to be transferred to class three, today if I don’t make you suffer..."
"Stop..."
Before he could finish, Tang Qing interrupted him. He couldn’t stand Xie Wendong’s dialogue. He finally said resignedly, "Xie Wendong, is this how you play in your county? Do you even know what avoid suspicion means? From where did you get the courage to appear here alongside them? With a rival like you...sigh...I’m really disappointed."
Xie Wendong, who got interrupted by Tang Qing, was infuriated. "You...you still dare to talk back, watch me today..."
"Shut up, just listening to you is making me cringe. Can’t you change your lines and bring something fresh?" Tang Qing couldn’t hold back and started swearing. He refused to listen to such distasteful dialogue, it was too melodramatic.
"I...I..." Xie Wendong was left speechless from the outburst. He was interrupted every time he tried to speak and his words were considered distasteful by everyone. He felt conditioned not to talk, afraid that Tang Qing would interrupt him again. Even though he didn’t know what cringe means, it was obvious that it wasn’t anything good.
Wait a minute, I came here to fight, why am I tangled up in words?
Xie Wendong managed to react in a short time, ready to make a final wave of a statement.
Yet Tang Qing wouldn’t give him the chance.
We’re going against the script.
"Who there, you’re that brother Hao, right?" Tang Qing turned and casually said to the one at the lead.
He had long noticed that the leader was brother Hao, the one he slapped a few times for making a fuss at the restaurant last month. It’s a small world, he seemed to encounter acquaintances everywhere.
Brother Hao relaxed his menacing face, looking at Tang Qing with curiosity. This time, Tang Qing was dressed in student clothes, with a slightly longer hair. His overall appearance and skin had some changes after leveling up, coupled with some chili powder on his mouth and being a little drunk last time. Brother Hao couldn’t immediately recognize Tang Qing. Though he felt that Tang Qing looked familiar when looking closer, he just couldn’t recall. Therefore, he said quietly, "You... Who are you? Do I know you?"
He had heard Tang Qing’s name from Xie Wendong, but Tang Qing had not mentioned his own background last time, causing Brother Hao to be unable to make the connection.
"Was the slap last time not enough, do you want to taste it again?" Tang Qing said with a smirk at the corner of his mouth.
This sentence reverberated like thunder in Brother Hao’s mind, bringing forth dusty memories. The two images slowly overlapped and he finally recalled. 𝓷ℴ𝓿𝓹𝓾𝒷.𝓬𝓸𝓂
After confirmation, Brother Hao involuntarily stepped back two steps, his gaze filled with confusion as he fearfully thought of Tang Qing unexpectedly slapping him again. The taste of that wasn’t pleasant. The lesson from last time was etched into his mind. After leaving the police station, he didn’t know who went and informed his gang leader, Brother Wolf. When he went back, he got another round of scolding. If it weren’t for the fact that there wasn’t any serious conflict, he could imagine he wouldn’t have had a good outcome. Whenever he thought about this, he’d feel a chill in his heart. Thankfully, he was on the side that took the beating. If he had injured Tang Qing, he believed he would really have needed to run away.
The other two who had been drinking together last time also remembered Tang Qing’s background. They were inwardly cursing; damn it, we’ve attracted this troublemaker again. Damn you, Xie Wendong, for daring to harm us.
Stumbling over his words, Brother Hao said, "It’s you... I... I..." He really wanted to say things like "it has nothing to do with me" and "I’m sorry", but in his nervousness, he couldn’t form a complete sentence.
"Alright, stop stuttering. You just say what’s going on today." Tang Qing said with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Brother Hao carefully said, "How about... we all just go our separate ways?" After he finished speaking, he nervously looked at Tang Qing. Although he knew there wasn’t much hope, he still had to try.
"What do you think? Is my time worthless?" Tang Qing folded his arms and said with a nonchalant smile.
"We’ll compensate you with money." Brother Hao blurted out. But after he said it, he regretted it, knowing that Tang Qing wouldn’t be interested in his small amount of money. Even if he was, he wouldn’t be able to accept it. In his view, Tang Qing was not the kind of person without bottom line.
"You really can’t read the situation, can you? Well, just tell me what you were planning to do when you called me here?" Tang Qing said with an interested look.
"We... wanted... wanted to teach you a lesson." Brother Hao stuttered.
"And then?" Tang Qing said, smiling mysteriously.
Brother Hao was startled, but quickly understood the meaning of Tang Qing’s words. And then? Of course they were supposed to carry on with the scheme! So he immediately stepped forward and slapped Xie Wendong’s face who was still in a daze.
"Swoosh..."
Following that was an unexpected backhand slap.
"Swoosh..."
Xie Wendong was slapped down to the ground.
"Damn it, who dare go against young master Tang? Brothers, show him a real good time," Brother Hao said loudly.
The other few, who were still in the dark, knew that they had bumped into a tough nut, so they quickly went together to teach Xie Wendong a lesson for fear of being remembered and hated by this mysterious young master Tang.
"Ah, stop, spare me ah, I paid you." Xie Wendong covered his vital areas shouting skillfully.
"Damn it, the money you gave, you dared to harm me, I’ll slap you to death, you dumb fool." Brother Hao took out the cash from his pocket and straightaway threw it on Xie Wendong’s face, followed by a ’harsh’ kick. He was not really a fool; he knew he could beat to harm, but not to injure too severely. Although Brother Hao didn’t fear Xie Wendong’s father, there was no need to offend him rashly. After this incident, this beating would definitely be attributed to Tang Qing, and as a small fry himself, there was no need for him to get too involved or else he wouldn’t be able to get out of it.
"Ah... stop hitting me... I won’t dare again..."
"Young master Tang, are you satisfied now?" Brother Hao bent over and asked with a smile.
