Chapter 155: Chapter 138 Let sister touch (Subscribe please!)_2
"Sister Yan, don’t overthink it, I was just getting into the song lyrics. The drama ’The Legend of Sword and Fairy’ is really touching, I don’t have any heartaches," Tang Qing said, understanding Qi Yan’s concern, but of course, he wouldn’t ever admit it. The burdens of his past life were not something he needed to bring up to the people of this life.
"Really?" Qi Yan was skeptical. She didn’t believe that Tang Qing was merely acting. If that were the case, with his crowd-control skills, he could easily become a popstar. However, it was ludicrous to think that someone as wealthy as Tang Qing would want to be a singer. There were indeed many ’hidden tycoons’ in the entertainment industry, but they genuinely loved the arts. Tang Qing, on the other hand, was notorious for his absences at the company - expecting him to commit to daily schedules for singing and acting was absolutely absurd.
"Absolutely true. I’m going to freshen up a bit," responded Tang Qing, not wanting to linger on the topic with Qi Yan. After concentrating on a round of Military Boxing, he was inevitably covered in a thin layer of sweat; not to mention the cold sweat Xu Dan, that female rogue, had scared out of him earlier.
At that point, Qi Yan noticed that Tang Qing was still shirtless. Despite the crowd and the air-conditioning in the hall, it was not cool but rather quite warm. However, her instinct was still to feel bad for him. She blamed herself for not having delivered his clothes right after his performance.
"Hmm, hurry back. It’ll be my turn to perform soon. I won’t let you miss it," said Qi Yan as she handed over Tang Qing’s shirt.
"Yes, yes, there’s no way I’d miss Sister Yan’s performance. I’m just washing my face, not taking a shower," Tang Qing replied with a wry smile.
Taking his shirt, Tang Qing stood up and left, grabbing an unused paper napkin on his way out.
As expected, the washbasin near the toilet on the second floor was brimming with people. Reluctantly, Tang Qing climbed up to the third floor, only to find it crowded with ladies as well. To avoid being ’invaded,’ he swiftly walked up to the fourth floor without a word.
Finally, on the seventh floor, he found a washroom free of their company’s female employees.
At the washbasin, Tang Qing soaked the napkin, wiped his face, and washed again. He then dried himself with toilet paper, put his shirt on and looked at himself in the mirror. Satisfied with his reflection, he gave a thumbs up. "As handsome as always," he thought.
Just as he was about to leave...
"Little Tang?"
A surprised voice came from behind him. Tang Qing recognized the voice in less than a second—it was Zhou Li.
Turning around, Tang Qing saw three people standing there: Zhou Li, Yan Guangting, and... Yan Fei. Upon seeing Yan Fei, Tang Qing furrowed his brows. n𝚘𝚟𝚙u𝚋.co𝚖
Upon seeing Tang Qing, Yan Fei instinctively retreated and hid behind Yan Guangting, lowering his head and avoiding eye contact. He had been increasingly terrified after recalling past events and had ultimately come to view Tang Qing as a formidable beast—to be avoided at all costs.
"Hi, Uncle Zhou, Uncle Yan," Tang Qing greeted politely. As for Yan Fei, Tang Qing couldn’t bother to be polite with such a despicable person. Being slightly impolite might reflect poorly on him, but now that he was finally making a name for himself, he had no desire to please everyone.
Zhou Li on the side knew all about it, but he dared not tell Yan Guangting who assumed that Tang Qing was still resentful about the high penalty of the previous overdue breach of contract. It was normal for a young man to hold a grudge, he thought.
"Didn’t we just merge our factories? We’re still in the transition phase. We planned to invite the management team for dinner before the Chinese New Year. Are you also eating on this floor?" Zhou Li asked.
"No, I’m attending the company annual meeting on the second floor. There were too many people in the washroom below. Oh, by the way, Uncle Zhou, are you going to open a shoe factory? Our company is just about to expand into footwear. We can collaborate in the future," Tang Qing remarked, suddenly remembering this piece of news.
"So the Tang family owns a clothing company?" asked Zhou Li, who hadn’t been aware of what business Tang Qing’s family was involved in. Tang Qing had never mentioned it, and Zhou Li had felt awkward to ask. He was certain, however, that lending money couldn’t be their primary business - the interest alone wouldn’t be able to support a family.
"Yes, our company is planning to launch a footwear line next year. Why don’t you come over to our place later? I can introduce you to our general manager," Tang Qing suggested with a smile.
"That’s great, I’ll go and raise a toast later," Zhou Li said with a laugh, feeling quite pleased. Tang Qing really was his lucky star; every encounter with him always led to something good happening. This business deal seemed as good as done.
After resolving the ’pressing issue’, the group prepared to fetch some wine but Tang Qing stopped them:
"Uncle Zhou, there’s no need. There’s plenty of wine downstairs."
"Alright then, Old Yan, we’ll go have a drink and be right back." Zhou Li wasn’t going to put on airs with Tang Qing, seeing that they were already quite familiar with each other.
"Let’s all go together, Uncle Yan." Without waiting for Yan Guangting’s response, Tang Qing went ahead and spoke. He invited Zhou Li with the main purpose of showcasing his strength to completely suppress any ideas Yan Fei might have of bothering Zhang Jing. It wouldn’t be quite appropriate to invite an outsider like Zhou Li to his company’s annual meeting otherwise.
Tang Qing had no idea that Yan Fei had already been scared stiff by that phone call to the police and Brother Hao, or else he wouldn’t have gone through all this trouble.
"Well... alright then, I’ll come along to join the fun. I’m also curious to see just what kind of parents could raise a promising young man like you," Yan Guangting said with a laugh. Despite surprise at Tang Qing’s invite to someone with ’little use’ such as him, he didn’t want to offend Tang Qing by declining.
With their conversation ended, the three followed Tang Qing to the elevator.
"Uncle Yan is too kind, but I’m afraid I might disappoint you this time. My parents are not here because this company is mine," Tang Qing politely replied.
"This company is yours?" Zhou Li asked in shock. He thought this was Tang Qing’s family company’s annual meeting, and also looked forward to meeting Tang Qing’s parents. But it seemed he was getting ahead of himself – the young man in front of him had brought one surprise after another.
"Yes, that’s right. Okay, here we are."
The elevator quickly reached the second floor...
"Ding..."
As soon as the elevator doors opened, Tang Qing was the first to step out. There were still many of Sheng Tang’s employees returning in a steady stream after touching up their make-up. Every one of them was excitedly discussing Tang Qing’s impressive performance.
At that moment, a bold and beautiful designer quickly walked towards Tang Qing and cheerily said, "Boss Tang, you sang so well just now, and your military boxing style was really cool! But next time, could you sing us a more upbeat song? This one was too melancholic."
Tang Qing recognized her as one of those who ’spectated’ him last time, not surprised by her boldness. He also noticed the admiration and pity in her eyes, which made him a bit embarrassed.
"Sure, um... next time, I’ll change it." Tang Qing quickly reassured her.
Noticing Zhou Li and the others who’d just got out of the elevator behind Tang Qing, the designer guessed them to be Tang Qing’s friends. Not wanting to say anything further, she made a cute ’keep going’ gesture before happily rejoining her group. Her colleagues bombarded her with questions, eager to construct multiple versions of that brief conversation with the ’male idol’ of the company.
"Little Tang, is she one of your employees? She seems quite interesting," Zhou Li chuckled. After all, there weren’t too many employees who’d dare to strike up a conversation and directly ’offer feedback’. But considering Tang Qing’s young age and how unassuming he was, Zhou Li quickly accepted it.
"Yes, they’re all very good," Tang Qing nodded, smiling. Although he was regularly ’bullied’ by them, as long as they didn’t overstep any boundary, he didn’t mind. In fact, he quite enjoyed this kind of superior-subordinate relationship – it was rather relaxing.
The group followed Tang Qing into the banquet hall.
