Chapter 212: Chapter 181: The Malicious Boss Tang Qing (Subscribe Please!)_1

After Liu Qian and his people left, only six of them were left in the large conference room. The extra person was the Deputy Financial Director who belonged to Sky Eye. He had been stationed here permanently, so he rented a house nearby. With double subsidies from Sky Eye and Dream Melody Group, he came and went without spending much.

Once Sheng Tang Apparel’s stores are fully open, Tang Qing plans to give out a Sheng Tang shopping card as a benefit during holidays. It can save money, and moreover, it’s better for the benefits to go to his own people. He, as the boss, is very confident about the quality and style of Sheng Tang’s clothes, and naturally hopes that all of his employees will wear their own products.

Of course, he won’t be foolish enough to only provide Sheng Tang shopping cards as benefits, but offers it as one of many options.

Now they have an additional option: Dream Melody Group’s discount card.

If Li Jianguo has the same ambition as in his previous life to improve and expand his restaurant, another card could be issued. The companies could even issue cards to each other... Tang Qing increasingly feels like a devilish boss.

Since Dou Jiao did not originally work here in the future, she asked the group not to prepare an office for her. She used to work here and felt that the place was spacious with a good view.

"Young boss, did you just say you want to stay for another day?" Dou Jiao asked with a smile. She naturally heard the conversation between Liu Qian and Tang Qing. Despite the silly question, there had to be a starting point for the conversation.

"Yes, there’s a banquet with the suppliers tonight. Mr. Liu asked me to meet them. It’s a good learning experience, and I think it’s great." Tang Qing nodded. He naturally knew Liu Qian’s intention. Meeting the supplier was a pretense; the real purpose was to interact with him more. At Liu Qian’s level, he wouldn’t do anything without a reason; there must be a certain goal.

"That’s true, the more people you know the better. Since you’re not leaving today, why don’t I show you around this afternoon?" Dou Jiao said with hopeful eyes. She was naturally bored with the major attractions around Province City, but Tang Qing hadn’t visited them. Since he was there, she wanted to recommend some places she thought were good, like a child showing off their treasure.

"Aren’t you busy? Do you have time to show me around?" Tang Qing looked at the pile of documents in front of Dou Jiao and the others and asked in curiosity.

"What’s the big deal? We can just postpone it by one day. Our job is primarily to audit and supervise, and not to do specific tasks. There’s no rush." Dou Jiao said with a laugh. In front of Tang Qing, she felt no obligation as a ’hardworking good employee’.

"Well, you should get back to work. I have other things to do." Tang Qing said with a smile. Although what Dou Jiao said was right, all of the urgent work is mostly halted by the deputy director, because he needs to react as quickly as possible. Before getting Dou Jiao’s organization, coordination, requests and so on, they have to go through two staff members and several people from Qingyan City without any major decisions. Dou Jiao’s work indeed isn’t that urgent.

"Humph, heartless boss." Dou Jiao said in disappointment. She wasn’t a nagging person, she only glared at Tang Qing with resentment and continued working.

Tang Qing dared not respond. He did have things to do, like thinking about Uncle Er’s situation, and waiting for news from the robot for emergency response.

Of course, there’s another thing, he needs to ask for leave from his mother.

Tang Qing walked over to the window and dialed Mother Tang’s number.

"Tangtang, are you back yet?" Mother Tang asked first as soon as the call was connected.

"Not yet, Mom, there’s something I want to tell you. I might not come back until tomorrow. That person insisted on showing me around." Tang Qing said. He simply blames the imaginary ’important person’. Mother Tang couldn’t contact that ’big shot’ anyway.

"This ... Okay then, I’ll ask for leave for you tomorrow." Mother Tang hesitated and then agreed. Since the other party insisted and it was only a day, it would seem disrespectful if Tang Qing refused. Plus, they were still in debt of tens of thousands to ’that person’. As the saying goes, with whose bread you eat, his song you sing. Mother Tang couldn’t say much.

Meanwhile, she secretly resolved to work hard to pay off this debt as soon as possible. They have gathered and saved up to 230,000 yuan with the dividends from the restaurant, and just have to wait for the upcoming dividends from the restaurant in two months, and then she would immediately let Tang Qing pay it back. The thought of owing someone money made it hard for her sleep.

"Mom, tomorrow is Sunday. We don’t have school." Tang Qing added.

"Oh, I see. I got all confused. Running the business keeps me so focused that I lose track of the days. Okay, come home tomorrow afternoon. You can’t stay out too long. Remember to be careful if you go out to play. Do you have enough money? If not, I can give you some more. Don’t rely on other people’s money while you’re out. They’ve already helped us enough. There’s the saying that he who takes others’ money has short hands. It’s hard to return favors, you know. In a couple of months, we’ll have saved enough money..." Mother Tang warned again.

In his previous life, Tang Qing might have been annoyed by this nagging. But now, he treasured it. He didn’t interrupt his mother, letting her finish her lengthy advice. Only when he heard his father’s interruptions did his mother stop.

"I know, Mom. I have enough money here. Don’t worry, I won’t take advantage of others," Tang Qing reassured her. n𝚘𝚟pub.𝚌o𝚖

"Well, that’s good. You have the National College Entrance Examination in two months; you should focus on studying when you get back. You understand, right?" Mother Tang said. Her main concern was always studying. Though she knew her son could get into any university he wanted based on his academic performance, she wouldn’t be at ease until he did so.

"I know, Mom," Tang Qing responded.

After a few more words, Mother Tang hung up the phone.

For the rest of the morning, Tang Qing stayed in the conference room with Dou Jiao and her colleagues. While Dou Jiao and two Sky Eye employees were busy, Tang Qing and Sun Chao sat and sipped their tea. The vice director of finance also assisted and periodically ran around, coordinating things.

Of course, Tang Qing didn’t forget to inform Liu Qian’s family and Qin Yugang that he would be staying another day. Although Mother Tang had said she would talk to his uncle, Tang Qing felt he still needed to make the call himself.

At lunchtime, Tang Qing was footing the bill. Dou Jiao chose the location — an average-sized hot pot restaurant nearby which did not cost Tang Qing much. After lunch, Dou Jiao didn’t go back to the hotel and went straight to the office. Tang Qing and Sun Chao returned to the hotel to rest.

After giving Sun Chao the rest of the day off, Tang Qing entered his own suite and locked the door from inside.

Combat Dispatch Center, Command Room.

Upon entering the cylindrical command platform, Tang Qing immediately asked, "Tang Yi, what’s the situation with the seventeenth target?"

The seventeenth target naturally referred to his Second Uncle Tang Kai. The first batch of security program had fifteen people, numbered in order. The sixteenth target was Liu Qian, who was not being protected but investigated.

As they were going to have a profound cooperation sooner or later, Tang Qing had to thoroughly understand Liu Qian’s shady business. He was sure Liu Qian would disclose it himself if directly asked. However, it would be naive to take his words for face value, right? Therefore, Tang Qing had sent a basic intelligence analyst to infiltrate Liu Qian’s powerbase. There wasn’t much progress yet as the agent had only managed to barely touch the surface of the money exchange business.

"Commander, the seventeenth target checked out of his hotel this morning and moved to another small hotel, room 307 at Boyun Hotel on the back street. After that, the target went to a restaurant and met two unknown individuals. We have no information on them in our database. The conversations weren’t well-understood. I’ve assigned someone to follow them, but so far, no information regarding their whereabouts or identities has been obtained. Meanwhile, when the target went out for lunch, I sent someone to place a bugging device in his room and another miniature signal transmitter on him," said Tang Yi, as serious as ever.

"Hmm, keep monitoring. Let someone notify me by phone if there’s any news," commanded Tang Qing, nodding.

"Yes, Commander," answered Tang Yi.

With more characters appearing and things getting more complicated, Tang Qing feared he might be running short of manpower. Consequently, he exchanged for four Level 2 fighters and two analysts, then sent them outside for supporting the other two robots. Now, he was somewhat reassured about his Uncle’s security.

PS: I’m mentioning for the last time that some of you aren’t satisfied with the protagonist constantly addressing people as Uncle or Sister. For that, I apologize if you skim read and missed the repeated explanations in the book.

After reading so many novels over the years, I’ve come to dislike plots where characters suddenly want to show off their status and pull rank. Mutual respect is important. There’s no harm in being a sweet talker when you need to network. Society is tough, but no matter where you are, you need to respect certain people. Some might have a higher status, some lower, some might not even have a status at all, but you must respect them. Unless you’re from a powerful and rich background, your path will slowly narrow otherwise.

Some readers don’t understand why the protagonist, a reincarnator with the mindset of a near thirty-year-old, always likes to call people Sister, and it doesn’t seem like an adult’s psychology. Well, as I’ve said in the text, firstly, his biological age is evident, and secondly, it’s more interesting than pretending to be a high-handed CEO. It’s not fun and I’m tired of it. (Please ignore the above ramblings if you don’t like this plot aspect.)
