Chapter 246: Chapter 204 Dream Set Sail (Please Subscribe!)_2
But Wang Sheng couldn’t overcome the hurdle in his heart. More so, he was most worried about Tang Qing’s intentions. Young, handsome, and wealthy, if he had any inappropriate ideas for his daughter, he didn’t believe she could resist them.
Just then, the sound of the door unlocking could be heard.
Wang Sheng immediately knew that Tang Qing had arrived, he quickly stubbed out his cigarette and got up.
Tang Qing was not some immature kid, rather, he was the chairman of a large company, by assets comparison, Wang Sheng felt a little inadequate. Despite this, he believed that once his company was on the right track, surpassing Tang Qing’s clothing company would be an easy feat.
However, facing Tang Qing, a reincarnator with advantage, his wishes were dashed.
"Hello Uncle Wang." Tang Qing, seeing Wang Sheng stand up to greet him, respectfully nodded and greeted.
"Haha, Little Tang, you’re here. Dinner has already been prepared, let’s sit down at the table." Wang Sheng said with a smile.
"Alright."
After saying this, Tang Qing sat down at the dining table alongside Wang Sheng. Wang Yan went back to her room to put down her backpack. Unlike Tang Qing, who casually carried nothing, she had been constantly striving to catch up with Tang Qing’s achievements recently.
Just as Tang Qing sat down, the final soup was prepared and everyone sat down at the table. Wang Sheng’s wife enthusiastically greeted Tang Qing, while Wang Yan quietly ate her food, knowing that the main characters today were her father and Tang Qing, she felt extremely nervous.
With the same reason as last time, Wang Sheng immediately poured Tang Qing a large cup of liquor, drawing disapproving looks from the two women. Wang Sheng could only give a wry smile, feeling his status in the household was dwindling, ah, with his daughter leading the charge, even his wife had turned on him.
"Little Tang, I won’t beat around the bush. I want to know what you think about Yanzi wanting to become a celebrity." Not having eaten much, Wang Sheng directly unveiled a massive question.
Shi Lan and Wang Yan also wore tense expressions as they watched him. Under normal circumstances, this would be their family matter and Tang Qing, an outsider, would not have a say. However, the current situation was complicated with Tang Qing playing a crucial role.
Tang Qing collected his thoughts and said.
"Uncle Wang, here’s what I think. Regarding Wang Yan’s future, as long as she likes it, nothing else is important. As parents or friends, we have no right to interfere. Her life is her choice, all we should do is provide support and assistance from behind. After all, our hope is for her to be happy.
I also understand what you’re worried about. I know the entertainment industry has its fair share of chaos and conflicts, or perhaps you have certain prejudices against some celebrities and do not want Wang Yan to step into that field, but these are not reasons for us to restrict her dreams. I believe with your protection, Wang Yan won’t suffer much. If things get too unbearable, she can always quit. Isn’t that right?"
After listening to Tang Qing’s words, Wang Sheng fell silent. Everything Tang Qing said hit right on his doubts. First, he was afraid his daughter would be mistreated or affected by the unsound practices in the industry, and second, he was worried about his own dignity. When asked that his daughter is a singer, he always felt embarrassed. However, Tang Qing was right, she could quit anytime, and his dignity was not as important as his daughter’s dreams.
Seeing the hopeful look in his daughter’s eyes, Wang Sheng didn’t want to let her down. A smile broke across his face as he said, "Alright then, I agree. After your National College Entrance Examination, I’ll send you to Shanghai Music Academy."
Before this, Wang Yan expressed wanting to attend this school. Though the reason was unknown to him, he had a bit of a guess in his heart, it just hadn’t been confirmed yet.
As for art examinations, he put it in the back of his mind. Whether to use money or leverage Wang Yan’s uncle’s relationships, or even to get help from his old classmates, none of these would be too difficult. He still hoped for his daughter to complete high school. After that, he would provide as much help as he could.
Upon hearing her father’s agreement, Wang Yan, with a face full of joy, said, "Dad, thank you, you’re the best."
"As long as you’re happy. If you find it too troublesome in the future, just quit. We can afford you not working." Wang Sheng said lovingly.
"Yes, dad." Wang Yan said happily.
Being able to do what she loved, with the people she loved, and surrounded by her family who cherished her, at this moment, Wang Yan felt like she was the happiest person in the world.
"Yeah, Yanzi, you have to work hard. When the time comes, I will follow you all around the world to your concerts," the slightly gullible Shi Lan excitedly chimed in. She kept imagining her daughter performing under the spotlight, her excitement growing with each thought.
"What will happen to me if you follow our daughter?" Wang Sheng retorted, glaring at his wife.
Shi Lan thought for a bit and replied, "Well then, I guess I’ll just bring you along."
"..."
Faced with his wife’s absurd and illogical thinking, Wang Sheng didn’t even want to respond. What did she mean by bringing him along? It’s as if he were some sort of burden. Despite mouthing off, he somewhat agreed with her. Having his wife along would put his mind at ease. Sigh, having a pretty daughter, especially one who’s a celebrity, can really be a cause for constant worry.
Tang Qing and Wang Yan were snickering at the side.
"Tang Qing, there’s no need to mention the idea of producing an album for Yanzi. Since I’ve agreed, why should we trouble you with this?" said Wang Sheng, turning to address Tang Qing.
"Well, if that’s the case, Wang Yan must be the first spokesperson for my company," answered Tang Qing with a nod and smile. He didn’t persist further; before, he had been thinking about how to get Wang Sheng’s approval for his support, without leaving a bitter taste in his mouth, but he hadn’t come up with a good excuse yet. With nothing to offer, he knew Wang Sheng would never believe that he had no ulterior motives in helping Wang Yan. n𝚘𝚟𝚙u𝚋.co𝚖
"Haha, no problem, I’ll make the decision. But the spokesperson fee can’t be short changed," replied Wang Sheng, burst into laughter.
"Of course, it’s just money, a small matter," Tang Qing commented.
"Tang Qing, you sure don’t mind spending, do you?" joked Wang Sheng.
"Well, it’s just a little savings I have," said Tang Qing modestly, clearly amused.
The mood at the dinner table became harmonious after that as they’d all managed to settle a matter that was on their minds.
Wang Sheng and Tang Qing conversed about the company. Even though Tang Qing was not involved in the daily operations of his own company, the detailed reports gave him a clear picture. Hence, he could talk extensively about Sheng Tang’s various data points. With the management insights he had learned in his past and current life and his predictive analyses of future economies, he and Wang Sheng had a spirited conversation.
Watching Tang Qing enthusiastically discussing with her father, enlightening them with many ideas, and his confident demeanor, Wang Yan found herself continuously staring at him throughout the dinner, her gaze becoming increasingly tender.
The engrossed and slightly tipsy Wang Sheng didn’t notice, but Shi Lan was observant. However, she didn’t think anything of it. An exceptional man does indeed deserve a woman’s attention. Considering her daughter’s age, it was unavoidable - it was better to allow it to run its course. As long as she kept a close watch going forward, her daughter would eventually move on. Interfering now might backfire.
After dinner, Tang Qing took a cab home.
By ten in the evening, his uncle and aunt had already gone to bed. Since they were usually busy with work and didn’t have mobile phones to play with, they tended to sleep early.
After Tang Qing had finished his nightly routine and practiced his calligraphy for a while, he received a call from his ’Customer Service’ robot, stating that the result for Plan 6793 was ready.
He quickly made his way to the Command Room.
"Commander, based on our interactions with Lei Yang over the past couple of days, we’ve concluded that he has mental health problems, he is sensitive, fragile, and twisted. His resentment towards your uncle is profound, enough to justify the dessimation. Our Fighters are already on standby, and we expect the plan to be executed within the next three hours," reported Tang Yi.
This was something Tang Qing had instructed earlier on. To avoid awkward situations where everybody was wiped out before he even got a word in, he had instructed the Command Room to notify him before carrying out the dessimation.
