Chapter 267: Chapter 223: This is Life (Please Subscribe!) _1

After uncle’s family got off, Tang Qing drove Lin Jiaxue home.

It was the weekend, and he would not let such a rare opportunity to spend a peaceful moment alone with her slip away.

Tang Qing originally intended to take Lin Jiaxue for a drive, but eventually dropped the idea. Taking a ’broken’ car worth millions out for a joyride would make him look stupid. Moreover, Lin Jiaxue seemed to be quite tired, probably due to staying up late studying the previous night and getting up early to send Tang Qing’s uncle off. Her weary look made Tang Qing feel sorry for her.

After parking the car, they walked hand in hand to the Lin family’s house.

Once inside the living room, Tang Qing noticed Lin Jiaxue stifling a yawn and quickly suggested, "Jiaxue, go back to your room and rest a while."

"I’m not tired," Lin Jiaxue gently smiled and responded.

Even though she claimed otherwise, Tang Qing could see the fatigue in her eyes.

"I’m not blind. Stop pushing yourself. Go get some sleep. I’ll make lunch later," Tang Qing said sternly.

"Really, I’m not tired. You sit down. I’ll make tea for you."

Lin Jiaxue was about to go and make tea for Tang Qing, but he promptly scooped her up in his arms. Lin Jiaxue did not protest, but instead, nestled into his neck, softly looking at him. She knew what Tang Qing was trying to do and did not resist, basking in her lover’s gentle dominance.

Tang Qing carried Lin Jiaxue into his room, laid her on the bed, and lovingly removed her shoes, socks, and coat. He neatly placed her belongings on the bedside table and covered her with a blanket. It was only March and it hadn’t warmed up yet, so the room was not especially warm. Therefore, Tang Qing decided to cover her with an additional thin quilt.

Kneeling at the bedside, Tang Qing looked into Lin Jiaxue’s eyes and bossily commanded, "Go to sleep."

Lin Jiaxue gazed at Tang Qing with an affectionate look and softly agreed, "Okay."

Before, Tang Qing wasn’t assertive. Although he was older than him, she was always like an elder sister caring for her younger brother, Tang Qing. But since last November, it seemed like Tang Qing’s masculine side had ’awakened’, becoming more authoritative, dominant and decisive. She really liked this change; seeing the affection in Tang Qing’s eyes, Lin Jiaxue simply wanted to be a woman who stays by his side.

As he gently stroked Lin Jiaxue’s smooth cheek, Tang Qing couldn’t seem to let go, saying, "Get some rest. I’ll go grocery shopping later. What do you want for lunch?"

"Anything will do," Lin Jiaxue responded with a smile.

"How can it be anything? It’s unacceptable. You must tell me what you want," demanded Tang Qing, pretending to be annoyed.

"Well... let’s have noodles," Lin Jiaxue carefully suggested. She knew that whatever she wanted to eat, Tang Qing would make it. But she also did not want to trouble him too much. She was not the kind of woman who would take advantage of this opportunity to make various demands, even if she wanted to eat something, she would make it herself.

"What?" Tang Qing questioned.

"I just want a simple bowl of noodles for lunch. Instant noodles will do. It seems like I haven’t eaten instant noodles for a long time," Lin Jiaxue said with a smile.

"How can that be? With me around, how could I possibly let you eat instant noodles? Ah, I know, I’ll make you minced meat noodles. It’s definitely nutritious and delicious," Tang Qing said after giving it some thought. He knew that Lin Jiaxue did not want to cause too much trouble for him. Every time she came over, she would always cook something delicious for him.

"Do you know how to make them?" Lin Jiaxue asked curiously. She was the one who taught Tang Qing how to cook; she had never made this dish before.

"Of course, I do. Don’t underestimate me. Now, go to sleep, and I’ll start preparing," Tang Qing said proudly.

"Okay," Lin Jiaxue softly agreed.

Tang Qing tidied up Lin Jiaxue’s hair, which had been disheveled by his gentle strokes, before readjusting her blanket. He then got up and left the room, quietly closing the door behind him.

Back in the living room, Tang Qing initially wanted to clean up a bit. But noticing that Lin Jiaxue’s place was spotlessly clean, he decided against it. Lin Jiaxue, although not as compulsive about cleanliness as his younger cousin Qin Shiyu, was also very particular about cleanliness.

Tang Qing spent more than an hour watching the news in the living room.

Seeing that it was getting late, he started making dough for the noodles. He knew his way well around the Lin family’s kitchen, it just took him about ten minutes to mix water with the flour and make the dough.

Next step.

Go out to buy groceries.

There was a grocery shop right at the entrance of the neighborhood, next to the fruit stands.

Carrots, tofu, eggs, meat...

In no time, Tang Qing had bought everything he needed.

On his way back, he also bought a bunch of fruits. Noticing that there weren’t many fruits left at Lin Jiaxue’s place, just a few oranges and bananas, Tang Qing felt the need to stock up.

The method of cooking minced meat noodles varies from place to place. In many places, people simply use store-bought noodles. Using store-bought noodles at home is completely fine, but it’s somewhat inappropriate for a restaurant business to do so. Either way, those kinds of minced meat noodles are a bit of a letdown for Tang Qing, no matter how tasty the minced meat is, it can’t save the overall dish. In his opinion, the importance of the noodles and minced meat in minced meat noodles is practically equal.

In his past life, Tang Qing had eaten minced meat noodles in many places. They all had one thing in common, the handmade flat noodles being the most authentic and delicious form of minced meat noodles.

He added eggs to the dough, kneaded it into a large flat sheet, sprinkled it with cornmeal to prevent it from sticking together when folded, enveloped the outer layer with a bit of cornmeal and finally cut it into half-centimeter wide noodles.
