Chapter 280: Chapter 231: The Reason, Opening a Business (Subscribe!)_2
Anyway, Tang Qing never really expected his real estate ventures to bring in a lot of money.
Meanwhile.
Today was also the opening day of two jewelry stores.
The preparations seemed a bit rushed, having only a week of time, but both parties were itching to get started. As soon as Tang Qing’s uncle’s goods arrived, there was frenzied activity, with Liu Qian volunteering to help, and legal procedures as well as licensing were swiftly handled. Tang Qing couldn’t even avoid their eagerness.
Accompanying the goods were two Chinese members of his uncle’s company. The two countries were beside each other and many Chinese had relocated to Bangkok to make a living. Often, his uncle would give priority to the Chinese. Tang Qing heard his uncle was also some vice president of a Chinese Chamber of Commerce there or something—but it was a title with no real use.
The main purpose of these two men was short-term training on display of the goods, employee training, as well as some basic knowledge of jewelry and business tactics. They would stay for about a month, until both families were fully capable of running the stores before they would leave.
Early in the morning.
Tang Qing took leave and drove the Mercedes-Benz with his uncle’s family to the Tang family’s jewelry store. The diligent student, Lin Jiaxue, naturally went to school.
After parking the car on the roadside, Tang Qing and his party got out.
There were no firecrackers, just some flower baskets placed at the entrance, all sent by his uncle and Liu Qian. Tang Qing did not join the festivities, as the entrance of the jewelry store was really small. This was a bustling commercial district with many pedestrians and occasional cars. The baskets from the two wealthy businessmen had already taken up all available space.
Meanwhile, Father Tang and Mother Tang had hired an elderly ’band’ to drum and clang at the entrance, and later they would carry an advertising banner wandering around nearby.
"Dong dong... clang..."
"Come and have a look, don’t miss out as you pass by. Grand opening sale, authentic products, ten times refund for fake items."
"Dong dong... clang..."
"Pure gold for... a 10% discount for the first hundred customers, and a premium gift."
"..."
Listening to these ’advertisements’, Tang Qing felt quite embarrassed for some unknown reason. It might have been because they were too down-to-earth.
When he was handing out business cards in the streets in his previous life, what he heard most were various promotional slogans from different businesses. Sometimes there were performances and he would stop to watch for a while. Right now, he kind of missed his past life... damn it, whoever likes it could go and live it.
The person shouting the advertisements was certainly not Father Tang nor Mother Tang, they weren’t that idle.
Since they weren’t as agile as the young ones, they were both ’helping around’ in the shop. They would assist wherever help was needed, which seemed odd.
Tang Qing and his group entered the shop. As soon as they entered, Qin Shiqi was dragging her sister around excitedly.
At this moment, the store was already crowded with people who came to join in the bustle. After all, it was a jewelry store they were selling, not cheap commodities like cabbage. The prices were not cheap and the holidays had just passed, the brand was not well-known, so naturally there were not many buyers.
Now, Mother Tang was arranging gold chains in the glass display. After not seeing her for a few days, Tang Qing found his mother had ’pilfered’ a few pieces of jewelry for herself, done up her hair, and put on a bit of make-up. She looked richer and younger.
"Mom, you’re busy," Tang Qing came over smiling.
Hearing the familiar voice, Mother Tang immediately looked up to find her brother’s family and Tang Qing, who was skipping class. She immediately chastised, "Tangtang? You little scoundrel, you skipped class again today."
"Hehe, it’s just for the morning, it won’t matter. Uncle and his family are going to see flowers in the southern suburb, I’ll be their driver. Mom, why don’t you guys come along?" Tang Qing suggested.
Mother Tang closed the display case, "We don’t have the time! There’re many people today. Yes, most are just looking around, but we can’t just leave them be."
"How’s it going? Any business?" Tang Qing asked curiously.
Upon hearing about business, Mother Tang’s face didn’t look optimistic, she whispered, "Since the opening we have made seven sales. But there’s no rush. Our early publicity was too hurried, just two days of leaflet distribution. Our brand isn’t well-known either. However, your second uncle’s employee predicted that the business would pick up after half a month. We should not be in too much of a hurry now."
"Mom, don’t worry. Business will certainly be good. Remember to buy a house at that time," Tang Qing laughed. With him around, business at the two jewelry stores would be booming, but he didn’t plan on doing anything right now. It was only the first day of business; he would wait a few more days since any immediate actions would seem too forced.
Mother Tang felt happier after hearing her son’s words. Not for any reason, but simply because she believed in her son, "That won’t be happening so fast. Your uncle Lin said that if he makes more than thirty thousand net profit in a month, he will mortgage a house. We’re not even sure about the first month yet."
"Rest assured, Mom. Thirty thousand RMB is nothing considering the size of our store." Tang Qing smiled and said. To make a net profit of thirty thousand RMB, including rent and labor costs, our monthly profit needs to be above fifty thousand. According to the profit rate of these jewelries, a monthly turnover of approximately three hundred thousand would suffice.
Whoa... so cheap.
That’s ridiculously low.
That amount wouldn’t even cover the change from his daily income.
It has to be a round number. Fifty thousand. Each store would spend fifty thousand each month to buy jewelry. As for what to do with the purchases, he hadn’t thought that far ahead. He would probably just give them away as gifts in the future.
