Chapter 282: Chapter 232: Special Effects, Liu Qian’s Request (Please Subscribe!)_1
Tang Qing and his uncle and aunt were leisurely strolling around the Flower Base. Qin Shiqi, her energy never flagging, was pulling an exasperated Qin Shiyu along, rushing to observe and sniff any appealing or beautiful plants she came across. She even sometimes dragged an unwilling Qin Shiyu to sniff along with her. She incessantly asked for her opinion, chattering non-stop.
Well, Tang Qing found himself silently mourning for his future cousin-in-law for a few seconds. He’d sure have his hands full with his wife in the future.
Thankfully, Lin Jiaxue wasn’t like this at all. Thinking about it, he felt rather lucky.
Not far along, Tang Qing saw his two cousins standing by a bed of flowers up ahead, with Qin Shiqi energetically waving at him.
He immediately caught on and briskly walked over. It wasn’t because Qin Shiqi ’kindly’ wanted to share the sight of the flowers with him, but she ’summoned’ for the camera hanging around Tang Qing’s neck. The camera was a gift given by Liu Qian previously, and it was quite expensive. But so far, he hadn’t used it much. Instead, Qin Shiqi was the one who’d mostly played with it. So when they left today, he naturally became the one to carry the camera, as Qin Shiqi hung it around his neck as soon as they got out of the car.
Tang Qing’s knowledge of this device didn’t go far beyond switching it on and off and pressing the shutter.
Sometimes he wondered...
Did this count as a handicap?
"Bro, hurry and take a photo of us. If you don’t do a good job, you’ll be in trouble," Qin Shiqi ordered exuberantly as soon as Tang Qing approached. Qin Shiyu, standing beside her, appeared disinterested, not at all keen on having her photo taken. She simply stood there, ’awkwardly’ force-smiling, content with being the quiet ’extra’.
Tang Qing, in resignation, said, "Alright, here goes. Three, two, one... how is that? Not bad, right?"
He couldn’t bring himself to say the word "cheese", though, as it seemed ridiculously silly to him.
After taking the photo, Tang Qing handed the camera back to them.
Qin Shiqi came hopping over to fetch the camera, magnified the image, and immediately complained, "Why are my eyes closed?"
Tang Qing shrugged noncommittally. "Who told you to blink? I have done my part to get both you and the flowers in the frame. Look how great my composition is. Most importantly, the flowers look stunning."
"You... you didn’t say ’cheese’; I wasn’t prepared! This won’t do - take another one, I won’t blink this time," Qin Shiqi declared, unsatisfied. The flowers looking pretty wasn’t enough, she needed to look pretty too.
"Fine, you are the boss here. Ready? Three, two, one... how about this one?" he acquiesced, taking another photograph but refusing to say ’cheese’ this time.
But Qin Shiqi, unmindful of whether he had said ’cheese’ or not, dashed over to check the photo. After scrutinising it, she nodded satisfactorily, "Looks good, although I feel the lighting was a bit dim."
Feel?
Another retake?
No way. Couldn’t let Qin Shiqi entertain such demands.
"Don’t worry, I’ll have someone edit it for you once we are home. Can we not take another, please? I guarantee that the edited version will please you," Tang Qing quickly promised.
How could he let a selfie maniac like Qin Shiqi decide on a photo?
Certainly not!
"Really?" Qin Shiqi was skeptical as she stared at Tang Qing.
"Absolutely more honest than you ever are," Tang Qing promptly took a vow with his hand raised high.
By ’someone’, he naturally meant Little Two.
With Little Two’s image analysis and modeling capabilities, optimizing a photo was a breeze. Especially after their recent discussions while watching movies, he discovered yet another great use for Little Two: creating special effects that surpassed anything currently available.
It was as if Little Two could remake an entire movie, simulating near-realistic dialogues or environmental scenes through 3D modeling, as long as the facial data and physical information of the characters were recorded. In essence, you’d only need a face and the whole ’movie’ wouldn’t require human involvement anymore - incredibly powerful stuff.
However, these were still only being used for military purposes. Using them to make a movie was too far a leap currently. That being said, it did give him the idea to perhaps think about investing in the movie business in the future, with Little Two taking care of the special effects. Not sure if it could compete with Hollywood special effects, but definitely cost-effective. Unbelievably fast, and wouldn’t cost a cent compared to Hollywood’s hundreds of millions in special effects budget.
Under supervision, it wouldn’t be much of a challenge to finish a movie’s special effects in one day, including various detailed modifications. Without this hindrance, if Little Two truly understood what effects a director wanted, with its remarkable computing and processing power, it could finish a movie’s special effects in less than three seconds.
Another way to get rich.
A fabulous idea, perhaps tasteful to set up a film company and have a go at creating science fiction movies.
Enough already.
No more daydreaming.
Back to reality.
As soon as Tang Qing said all these, he quickly retreated a few steps.
As expected, Qin Shiqi realized immediately that Tang Qing was criticizing her credibility. Naturally, she didn’t let him have the last laugh.
"What... stand right there," she demanded.
"I won’t," Tang Qing instantly sped off. He couldn’t go all out, as his speed would leave anyone, even the fastest sprinter, in the dust.
"Don’t worry, I won’t tickle you," Qin Shiqi called out as she ran after him.
"Words differ from thoughts. Why are you chasing me then? I don’t trust you," Tang Qing shouted back, laughing. After making a round, he soon found himself back where he started.
"I’m so mad. Sister, help me catch him," Qin Shiqi panted, exasperated.
Tang Qing continued to run forward, reached Qin Shiyu, and while gesturing toward the still chasing Qin Shiqi, said, "See, Sister Shiyu can’t bear it." He then pulled a funny face at her.
