Chapter 334: Chapter 273: Change the Company (Subscribe Please!)_2
"Okay, okay, I want a computer, I want a mobile phone, I want to play... for studying." Li Kai boasted a bit too much then hastily corrected himself.
"Don’t think I don’t know what you’re going to use them for. Anyway, you need to focus on your studies once you start university. After the National College Entrance Examination, I’ll let you have fun, but during your school holidays, you must work for me, either in the restaurant or in the upcoming company. Do you understand?" Li Jianguo said solemnly. To prevent his son from being spoiled by money and misbehaving, he could only take such measures. He hoped his son would mature and help him out early. Most importantly, he had only one son, and he would miss him if he were too far away.
"Dad, I’m your son, do you really need to take me in like this?" Li Kai complained. His father had reserved his vacations, and it wasn’t something to be happy about. He wanted to travel and live carefree during his university holidays, find a girlfriend, and enjoy those unabashed vacations.
"Keep this up, and you’ll lose your holiday right after the exam." Li Jianguo dismissed his son’s complaints.
"Oh, got it."
Li Kai didn’t dare to say any more and looked pitiful.
Tang Qing listened to their argument with a smile. It reminded him of his previous life when he used to visit Li Kai’s house. The father and son would negotiate terms, and Li Kai would ask for pocket money in various ways, acting cute and coquettish to the extreme, especially when Tang Qing visited his house, the reasons to ask for money were extremely sufficient.
If it were any other friend, Li Jianguo wouldn’t bother at all. However, Tang Qing was one of Li Kai’s few, even the only, ’serious friends’, a good student, free from bad habits. Naturally, he wouldn’t be stingy, always giving a lot, from a few thousand in the least to over ten thousand in some trips. He never looked down on Tang Qing, who didn’t have money, and always welcomed him enthusiastically.
This is one of the main reasons why Tang Qing is helping Li Jianguo so much now.
You should treat others as you want to be treated.
Seeing that class was about to start,
Tang Qing quickly called the class teacher. The teacher, who heard that Tang Qing had eaten too much and wanted to rest, showed immediate concern, as Tang Qing was the school’s gem.
As for Li Kai being late with Tang Qing, the teacher didn’t say anything, as she knew they were good friends and didn’t bother about such a small matter.
Ending the call, Li Jianguo suddenly asked, "By the way, Little Tang, I heard your uncle might be transferred."
"Oh? Uncle, who told you?" Tang Qing smiled and asked.
"A police officer. Well, your uncle often comes to take care of business, and I got to know a few police officers. I overheard them talking about it when they came here for dinner last night, but I didn’t know where they were being transferred to, and I didn’t want to ask them," Li Jianguo explained.
Looking at Li Jianguo’s expression, Tang Qing knew he was a little worried and reassured him, "It’s okay, Uncle. You just focus on doing your business. No one will dare to mess with you."
"That’s good. What position is it this time?" Li Jianguo asked curiously.
"The chief of the Development Zone Police Station and the Deputy Director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau," Tang Qing said casually.
"Deputy Director?" Li Jianguo exclaimed in surprise, he automatically ignore the position of police station chief. Which chief has more power than a director?
"Yes, Uncle, you just focus on your business. If you have any questions or encounters difficulties from the government, directly contact Sky Eye. If they can’t handle it, they will tell me," Tang Qing said.
"Ah?" Li Jianguo was surprised again. Business issues could be resolved by Sky Eye, but they can also help when someone causes trouble? But he didn’t understand this arrangement.
"Uncle, you don’t need to be surprised. Sky Eye is very powerful. They can handle most problems. You’ll learn about it gradually. They will only contact me if they can’t handle it. I’m just a hands-off shopkeeper,"
Tang Qing didn’t explain in detail, he didn’t know much about Sky Eye’s network. In the past, Sky Eye dealt with the local government for some issues because of Dou Jiao, so many people from critical departments known about Sky Eye, because of Dou Jiao. This slowly forms part of Sky Eye’s connections.
Although Tang Qing didn’t know about Dou Jiao’s background, he could see from Feng Sen that there was no relationship in Qingyan City that Dou Jiao couldn’t handle. Any trouble was like an egg against a rock.
The main reason he said this was that he wanted to be lazy. Besides money matters, there were no problems Dou Jiao couldn’t handle.
"Alright then," Li Jianguo agreed, wondering even more what kind of company Sky Eye was.
After finishing their meal and the waiter cleaning up the table, Li Jianguo ordered a pot of good tea. Li Kai rested his stomach in the box and started watching TV.
But Tang Qing wasn’t interested in watching TV.
He got up and went downstairs.
There was something else he wanted to discuss with Zhang Jing.
At this point, the customers had mostly left and among the staff, Tang Qing noticed a few unfamiliar faces.
He approached the front desk.
"Jing, did any of our employees leave recently?" Tang Qing asked, picking up and eating the melon seeds handed to him by Zhang Jing.
"Yes, a few of them did, to get married." Zhang Jing replied with a smile.
"Oh, as long as they didn’t leave due to low pay, that’s fine." Tang Qing said. His company offers higher wages than others in the same industry. This was his first ’business’, and he couldn’t afford to lose face if people left due to low wages.
"Of course not. Our wages have been increasing and are definitely among the top in the area." Zhang Jing happily said. The thought of her wages made her happy. Although Tang Qing had not been around for a while, Li Jianguo was very good to his employees. As business got better, their wages increased significantly. Zhang Jing was very satisfied, saving most of it. Part of it was sent home for her mother and sister to use, and part of it was for her sister’s college tuition. Just like Tang Qing, her sister was also going to take the National College Entrance Examination that year.
She didn’t have to pay for food or lodging here, and she had no time to go out. Even her clothes, Tang Qing noticed, were from last year and were starting to look a bit faded and old.
"As long as you guys are satisfied, that’s what matters. How has business been recently?" Tang Qing asked.
"It’s going well. Our monthly sales have been increasing. But due to space limitations, we have almost reached our maximum capacity." Zhang Jing said. This was also the direct reason why Jianguo wanted to expand.
"Jing, would you be interested in learning about finance?" Tang Qing finally brought up his intention.
Zhang Jing was his first employee, and Li Jianguo was about to start a new company. It seemed inappropriate for Zhang Jing to remain working in this small restaurant.
"What do you mean?" Zhang Jing asked, confused.
"It’s like this - Uncle Li is planning to expand into a larger-scale catering company. When the time comes, we will need people who are familiar with finance. If you learn it, I can arrange for you to work there. The salary would be higher and the work would be relatively easier. So, are you interested?" Tang Qing explained.
Zhang Jing responded excitedly, "Really? A company? Of course, I’d like that. Hehe, it would be nice to work in an office, but I don’t know anything." As soon as she finished, Zhang Jing looked at Tang Qing worriedly.
"That’s fine, you can learn. Nobody is born knowing everything. The company can provide paid training." Tang Qing said with a smile.
"Okay, you make the decision. Anyways, you were the one who hired me." With her doubts cleared, Zhang Jing agreed readily.
"Here is the company’s address. You’ll be transferred to a new company, also owned by me, which focuses on supervising businesses I invest in. The address is listed here. You can report there on Monday morning. Everything else will be arranged for you." Tang Qing wrote down an address and handed it to her.
"What about the work here?" Zhang Jing asked.
"Uncle Li will find someone to replace you. I’ll discuss it with him in a bit." Tang Qing replied.
"Alright, thank you." Zhang Jing expressed her gratitude.
"Why the formality? You’re my first employee. How could I not take care of you? From now on, study hard. You can even consider getting a part-time degree. The company will sponsor it. The new company is mostly staffed by top graduates from major universities. If you want to fit in, you’ll have to show them you’ve got the skills. I believe in you." Tang Qing gave a serious response. Indeed, he had been thinking about bringing Zhang Jing into Sky Eye for quite some time. It was the first time he was pulling strings to do so. While her academic qualifications might be a bit low, Zhang Jing had always proven to be dedicated and hardworking, which only attested to her potential for growth.
Once the right attitude is inculcated, skills can be gradually cultivated. If the attitude is unknown, one can only assess on the basis of skills. If one is unsure of real capabilities, then educational qualifications are the only benchmark. This is the basic principle for hiring in any enterprise.
"I won’t let you down." Zhang Jing said confidently. To have another chance to study and learn was something she’d always dreamed of. She was not afraid of competing with anyone.
