Chapter 404: Chapter 329: The Help Target (Subscribe!)_1

In the car.

"What just happened, Tangtang?" An excited Dou Jiao asked. Sitting in the middle seat at the back, she had only seen the excited expressions of those around her, like they were watching some theatre play. She didn’t get out, so as not to add to the chaos. She only caught snatches of noises.

Tang Qing gave a faint smile and said, "Nothing much, my class teacher just accidentally bumped into Brother Pan’s car. Then some mad dog tried to attack, but a good Samaritan passing by gave it a lesson. The onlooking masses clapped their hands in approval."

Brief and clear.

The whole incident was turned into a dog biting incident after Tang Qing manipulated it.

Lin Jiaxue still being in the back.

How could such a violent act like slapping someone be worth elaborating like some storytelling?

Dou Jiao didn’t believe this ’nonsense’. It didn’t make any sense. So, she looked at her future husband skeptically.

"Yue Yue, is that true?"

Pan Yue smiled bitterly after hearing this.

Although Tang Qing had lied, his words had hidden intentions. He nodded in agreement and said, "Yes, that dog was savage. It was about to pounce on us when a kind passerby stepped in and gave it a good lesson. The beating left the dog woofing in pain. To avoid getting involved, we quickly left."

"But why did I faintly hear words like ’pay back’ and ’beat’?" Dou Jiao asked again.

"Well, what he said was ’pay back for a beating’. Yeah, that means the naughty dog deserved a beating," Pan Yue, an honest fellow who doesn’t lie, failed at his attempt to lie. Tang Qing could only rate him thirty out of a hundred.

"Oh, that poor dog," said Dou Jiao with a feeling of regret.

Though Dou Jiao didn’t believe them, she felt like she’d found a clue but wasn’t sure if she should say it.

Hearing this.

Tang Qing almost hit the brakes.

That perspective.

Tang Qing was flabbergasted.

Looking at the innocent face of Lin Jiaxue in the rearview mirror, Pan Yue somewhat understood Tang Qing’s intentions. It seemed that he was too protective. He had seen and heard plenty of filthy things but he would never share them with Dou Jiao, always picking the best parts to tell.

Pan Yue, who was involved in the entire incident, had become suspicious.

How coincidental it was.

Debt collectors showing up, beating people instead of collecting debt, it was highly unusual.

It seemed like they specifically intended to pick a fight, not letting the other person speak.

As he recalled Tang Qing’s polite but cold demeanor, he didn’t believe that Tang Qing, this ’feeble’ scholar, could resort to violence. So, he must have some backing.

Could it be possible that Tang Qing arranged this on purpose?

The more Pan Yue thought about it, the more likely it seemed. He glanced at Tang Qing who was driving the car with a contemplative expression.

While Dou Jiao was chattering away at the back seat.

They arrived at the entrance of the Broken Love Mountain Scenic Area.

Luckily, there weren’t many private cars around, and the parking lot had plenty of spots left. There were quite a few buses parked, but they didn’t look great. Most locals from the city would take the bus since it wasn’t that far.

Parking the car.

The women led the way. There was no need for a guide as they just had to follow the crowd.

The two men trailed behind.

At least three guards in plain clothes were hiding amongst the crowd, ready to protect them when needed.

"Did you know that man just now?" Pan Yue couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity.

Tang Qing was not surprised. The whole incident could not withstand detailed analysis. It would not be surprising if Pan Yue figured it out.

"Brother Pan, possibly."

After speaking, Tang Qing quickly walked up to the three women. He didn’t feel comfortable when they were too far away. Although there were hidden guards who could rush up within three seconds, when it came to his loved ones, no caution is excessive.

Possibly?

Pan Yue murmured to himself.

So, this was an indirect admission. The more Pan Yue looked at Tang Qing’s young face, which seemed ’cunning’, the more mysterious it appeared to him.

He quickly caught up with the others.

As they approached the stage, the crowd grew denser. A girl was loudly singing a mountain song on stage. True to its name, this mountain song could probably be heard clearly on top of Broken Love Mountain.

"It’s a bit noisy, Jiaxue. Let’s not get in there. The sound quality is not good. Let’s go over there. They’re performing acrobatics and hey, there’s also a lion dance. Let’s go, let’s go..." Without waiting for Lin Jiaxue’s answer, an excited Dou Jiao dragged them to the other performances.

Tang Qing and Pan Yue just followed them, each eating a huge cotton candy.

"So sweet."

"Yeah, once you take a big bite, there’s just a tiny bit left in your mouth." Tang Qing bit off a large piece and it instantly melted into a tiny piece of sugar.

True, even when pressed into a lump and shoved into the mouth, it’s still not much.

Such a bore.

"Exactly, it also gets sickening after a while." Pan Yue smacked his lips and stated.

The two men were discussing something utterly mundane, as though they had never eaten cotton candy before.

Just as Tang Qing was complaining about the cotton candy in his hand.

A poor-looking little girl aged around five or six was staring at the cotton candy in his hand, drooling.

It was clear she wasn’t a child from a normal household.

Tang Qing looked at the cotton candy in his hand, where he had barely taken any bites.

He squatted down, handed it over, and said with a smile, "Here, little one, this is for you."

The little girl stared at the cotton candy in Tang Qing’s hand, swallowed her saliva, stepped back, and shook her head without uttering a word, but her eyes remained fixed on the cotton candy.
