Chapter 497: Chapter 407 SO EASY (2018! Work hard!)_1
Having listened to Wangsa’s account.
Tang Kai felt a dizzy in his head and gently held onto the arm of the sofa next to him.
He needed a breather.
He couldn’t believe that in less than a week, Ling had opened a bank and issued a new currency - the Asia Dollar, and more inconceivable that they had even managed to get Myanmar to acknowledge it as one of their national reserve currencies.
But that wasn’t all.
Just within a day,
Ling had swiftly conquered two neighboring territories with the speed of a thunderbolt. Clearly, some sort of deal was going on, but that was none of his business. He was simply left with countless puzzlements.
The world was progressing at a speed that he couldn’t keep up with.
No wonder Ling had prepared new trade goods so quickly; they were all pillaged. No wonder they were not in a hurry to sell those things; having issued their own currency reduced their foreign currency demand.
He could see now how the pieces fit together.
But what he still didn’t understand was why he was being appointed as the sole distributor. Was that due to past favors or something else? He had initially thought it was out of kindred spirits, but giving up on making money was completely illogical.
When Tang Kai pondered about the conversation he just had with Ling’s man, who is notoriously known as a ’cold-blooded killer’, his heartbeat raced uncontrollably.
He heard from Wangsa that there were huge investments being made within Ling’s territory.
"Commander Wangsa, wouldn’t this affect your business?" Tang Kai couldn’t help but ask. With their investments in businesses, this would mean a reduction in Wangsa’s trade size. He was worried there would be conflicts between Wangsa and the other side due to interests, putting him in a tight spot.
"Haha, rest assured, Boss Tang. Our cooperation is mutually beneficial, and we have other joint projects. These business matters are trifles." Wangsa chuckled, eager about the potential profits of the mobile phone business equalling the sum of current profits. How could he possibly upset his financial god?
This is just the beginning. If Ling could provide sufficient supplies in the future, even if there were no more other daily necessities, it wouldn’t be a problem.
Of the ten sample mobile phones Ling gave him, he had shown them to the phone experts of the Clay Family for disassembly and research. Wangsa asked them how much they would pay for one. After some hesitation, their answer was surprisingly 135 dollars apiece — more than his estimate of 120 dollars each.
After further inquiries, he learned that the screens and CPUs were superior to most phones in the market, and the camera was even up to 600,000 pixels. This led to an increase in price by 15 dollars. Moreover, this was a conservative price. Because they were almost relatives now, they hinted that they may consider a price of 150 dollars each.
At that time, Wangsa’s eyes nearly popped out of his sockets.
150 dollars?
Oh God.
His purchase price was just 70 dollars. There was an outrageous profit of 80 dollars, more than double his purchase price. This wasn’t just extremely profitable, it was explosive! He even felt the impulse to persuade Ling to move his factory to Thailand, but he knew Ling would never do that, at least for now. When Ling’s production can’t keep up in the future, there is always time to make such a suggestion.
In the end, Wangsa negotiated with the people from the Clay family, gritted his teeth, and finally agreed to sell to them at 110 dollars each. This was 10 dollars more than the expected price of 100 dollars per unit. Yet, even then, it still felt like he was bleeding money.
But there was no other way, if the Clay family later had a hint that his purchase price was just 70 dollars, he would certainly get into a lot of trouble.
It wasn’t worth the trouble.
Wangsa let go. As long as there was profit, he was content.
Therefore,
This deal ended with the Clay family’s immense gratitude.
Supplying 10,000 phones initially would earn him 400,000 dollars, quite a handsome amount.
On the other end of the phone call,
After hearing Wangsa’s explanation, Tang Kai was relieved – the key point was that there were no conflicts and he could continue with the trade as usual. As for the nature of the businesses that the other side is running, he didn’t care, as long as they wouldn’t interfere with his gems and jewellery trade, that was more than enough.
The rest of his curiosity would be satisfied with time’s revelation.
"That’s great. I’m glad that both of you are making money. Thank you, Commander Wangsa, for telling me all of this. Without you, I wouldn’t know anything. Leader Ling just called me about new goods and told me I could pick them up at any time and gave me the identity of the only distributor. It frightened me and made me wonder what was going on." Tang Kai said with a light laugh.
There was a bit of boastfulness in his words. He deliberately implied that they were in this together like brothers, deepening their relationship.
Indeed.
Wangsa on the other side was taken aback when he heard him.
Exclusive distributor.
In the past, this title didn’t mean much, it simply implied that Tang Kai was lucky or had gained from a well-connected Wei Jun family. But now, with Ling’s rapid expansion of business in his territory and endorsing Tang Kai as the sole distributor, it seemed quite thought-provoking.
Could it be that Tang Kai was actually aligned with Ling?
Wangsa had this thought for the very first time.
But... Okay, damn, this is mind-boggling. Whatever, Tang Kai is my friend, that’s all that matters. Why should I overthink things when it all ends up benefiting me? There’s no need to create unnecessary worries.
Following this, they exchanged a few polite words before hanging up the phone.
"Honey, how’s it going? Was there an accident over there?" Youman anxiously asked, clutching her husband’s hand. Seeing Tang Kai’s expression of shock earlier, she thought something might have really gone wrong.
Upon hearing his wife’s concern, Tang Kai felt a warmth in his heart, he smiled bitterly, "Yeah, something happened, something big."
No kidding.
This was a ground-shaking event. That Ling really knows how to turn things upside down, and he’s done it on such a massive scale, it’s downright audacious. He couldn’t help but wonder what was supplying Ling with the confidence to do this, and he inevitably thought about the government of Miandie.
Youman turned pale upon hearing this and said softly, "It’s okay, we have enough money. Even if there’s an issue over there, it won’t affect us. If worst comes to worst, we’ll just find a new supplier."
Tang Kai was torn between laughter and tears. He too was guilty of beating around the bush, and he gently patted his wife’s hand in reassurance: "Don’t worry, it’s good news. That Ling leader has taken over two more territories and collected a ton of gems and jewellery in just a day. Not only that, a few days back they also opened a..."
Listening to Tang Kai’s explanation.
Youman felt as if she was listening to a fantasy novel.
She hadn’t expected things to turn out this way. It was indeed... great news!
If the other party is indeed connected to the government of Miandie, then it can only be better for them.
Just like that.
Tang Kai and his family managed to breathe a sigh of relief.
He planned to select some goods from there and bring some gifts for Leader Ling when he returned home. After all, it would be inappropriate not to show gratitude when someone has helped you make so much money. He also wanted to retain his status as Ling’s sole distributor.
...
Whilst Tang Kai’s family was rejoicing.
Tang Qing was also innocently exercising his nerve telekinesis in the training area, manipulating the telekinesis to pluck fruits, farming, and such. It was fun, even more so than using his hands.
Now I’m free from manual labor, aren’t I?
The National College Entrance Examination is tomorrow.
In the past, this was a watershed in his life, a turning point for good or bad. He knew that without the car accident, his life would have taken a completely different path. Now it was just another ’regular’ day for him to cruise through.
The next day.
June 7th.
Tang Qing was woken up early by his aunt’s family. Qin Shiqi was also busy checking the exam tools and ’lecturing’ Tang Qing on various matters. Tang Qing could only roll his eyes in response.
During the examination period.
All other grades had been given holidays in advance to help set up the examination centers.
The Qin sisters also got a rare few days off.
Tang Qing saw that his exam center was in Lin Jiaxue’s school, where Lin Jiaxue was also taking her exam. Therefore, after an early dinner, Uncle Qin Yugang drove him to the exam center along with Lin Jiaxue.
First up.
Chinese.
Test papers were distributed.
Tang Qing quickly scanned the entire first page of the paper, a feat made possible by the combination of his telekinesis and his physically enhanced body. His learning speed was so fast, it was almost like scanning a document, which was beyond abnormal.
This nationwide examination paper wasn’t a challenge; it was pretty much in EASY mode.
The next second.
Tang Qing’s hand... slowly started to answer the questions.
There was a rule in the exam that no one was allowed to submit their papers within the first half an hour, so he decided to take his time. He thought about submitting his paper after one hour to avoid attracting attention; otherwise, given his speed, it would take him just twenty minutes to finish the paper.
An hour later.
Several students had already been gathering to submit their papers.
Tang Qing didn’t want to sit there any longer, so he collected his paper and walked out of the exam hall.
