Chapter 548: Chapter 455: Put into Operation (4/4)_1
Under the Store Manager’s guidance.
The two sisters seemed to understand what it meant to feel at home at work. Everyone they met was kind and gracious, showing special care towards them and not assigning them any heavy work.
This shift.
The two of them felt as if they weren’t working but rather being treated as ’ladies of leisure.’ It was rather strange. However, considering they had got the job thanks to Tang Qing’s connections, they gradually accepted it. After all, who purposely seeks out discomfort?
While Qin Shiqi and her sister were ’working’.
Within the territory.
Xin’an Town.
Wei Hao woke up early as usual.
Recently, he hadn’t been staying in the guesthouse but had moved to a newly built residential area in Xin’an Town. The environment in the neighborhood was excellent. The buildings were all three-story high. Although the décor was slightly lacking compared to the hotels, it was still very satisfactory.
Since commercial housing had yet to be introduced within the territory, one could not privately purchase any new buildings in all the towns except for the Industrial Town. They could only be leased from the Myanmar Bank Group.
All buildings within the territory, that hadn’t required any investment, had fallen under the purview of the ’Fixed Assets Management Department’ of the Myanmar Bank Group. This department was responsible for their management and allocation.
Wei Hao, in one fell swoop, paid for two years of rent, which was the maximum leasing period. Even if he offered twice the price, they wouldn’t lease the property for a longer duration.
This was a rule set by Tang Qing.
Because after two years, the price of leasing these properties would have undoubtedly increased. Even if the prices increased manifold, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say so. Tang Qing didn’t want to lose money over leasing the properties for an extended duration. Therefore, two years was seen as the limit. Anything more would mean a loss.
Should these properties be available for purchase, within half a year, every building in all the towns would certainly be sold, which was a scenario Tang Qing didn’t wish to see. To maintain relative fairness, it was better for him to have control over the properties. Whether he decided to regulate property prices in the future, or demolish buildings to construct skyscrapers or redevelop, it was better than selling them now.
Living in a spotless house, Wei Hao, filled with awe, wondered how much time had passed. He hadn’t expected that electricity and tap water would be available, as well as a gas supply. So, water, electricity, and gas were all readily accessible.
Of course, it wasn’t natural gas but liquefied petroleum gas, a byproduct derived from crude oil from the oilfield managed by Talents.
After breakfast.
Wei Hao drove to the Industrial Town. The car he drove wasn’t a fancy one but a common second-hand model. He had invested all his money into two factories, and his pockets were almost empty.
However, after a month of construction, production had already commenced at his brick factory. An ongoing construction boom in the territory meant the demand for building materials was consistent, leading to good sales.
Not just in the towns, but also in the villages. As roads were being built in every village, wealthier villagers who didn’t want to live in straw and bamboo houses were starting to build brick houses or even small two-story buildings. The demand was growing, and it was clear that the brick factory business would undoubtedly thrive at least for the next two to three years. The investment into the brick factory was expected to be recouped within the next year as well.
There was no way to lose.
What Wei Hao is most concerned about now is his own plastic product factory.
He came to check on it every day.
Turning several bends, Wei Hao arrived at his factory. The factory building had been completed a week ago, and equipment installation had begun. Looking at the state-of-the-art ’high-tech’ equipment in his factory, Wei Hao felt a great deal of comfort. Touching the shiny new equipment, Wei Hao’s eyes lit up with excitement.
"Master, how long until it’s ready?" Wei Hao asked the chief installation engineer in the factory. After all, a suitable installation and debugging worker would not have been found if it hadn’t been for the temporary stand-in by a soldier.
"It’ll be ready by tomorrow. Today we’ll debug the equipment, and then the workers will receive practical operation training for a few days. We should be up and running in about five days." The soldier replied while busying himself with work.
Wei Hao didn’t mind the dismissive attitude. Technicians generally weren’t chatty anyway. As long as they did their jobs, it was fine.
A few days’ time for workers to become proficient with these machines was clearly unrealistic. Therefore, before this, the workers had been subjected to more than half a month of theoretical learning, each studying their respective roles and precautions.
Although it was a bit rushed, it was not unmanageable. Even taking into account the educational level of the workers, the entire production line had been simplified to the greatest extent possible by scientists to make it easy for newcomers. This was done to ensure it could be quickly put into use and also to minimize breakdowns.
If the machines broke, they could be repaired.
Workers were also responsible for the maintenance of all equipment in the Industrial Town.
With remote guidance from scientists, how could it be a challenge to repair the equipment they had designed themselves?
"Alright then, that sounds good. I’m off to check other places now." Wei Hao said with a beaming smile. He didn’t stick around any longer. With the production here on track, there was another piece of business to attend to - acquiring raw materials. Only with raw materials could his factory start production.
The small refinery under Myanmar Bank and the chemical plant had already started operations, which meant getting raw materials wouldn’t be an issue. But he had to go and inquire about it anyway.
Then, later.
Wei Hao drove to the ’Resource Coordination and Dispatch Department’ of the Myanmar Bank Group. This department was in charge of managing and distributing resources between the Myanmar Bank Group and other private enterprises throughout the territory. All the raw materials procured by procurement companies would also be distributed through this department. It wielded immense power.
So, naturally, this department was primarily in charge of soldiers.
Only after Wei Hao confirmed that the first batch of chemical raw materials could be delivered to the factory tomorrow did he finally breathe a sigh of relief.
He then cheerily got in his car and drove to the brick factory to take a look.
...
These couple of days, many owners like Wei Hao appeared to be walking on air, their faces brimming with joy.
After a month of construction.
Several factories in the Industrial Town had begun operating. Wei Hao’s plastic product factory was only restricted by the availability of raw materials. However, other factories engaged in food, glass, hardware processing, grain and oil industries didn’t have any significant technical challenges and could steadily produce goods even one or two weeks ago. They derived raw materials from various sources.
They were supplying all supermarkets and shops in the territory.
Especially the factories producing high-tech goods, they started trial production a week ago under the relentless debugging and installation conducted by the soldiers round the clock. Until now, they already had a steady output.
In the not too distant future.
Once all the factories in the Industrial Town started production, the economy within the territory would truly achieve a cycle, gaining a certain degree of resistance against outside threats and preventing external forces from easily choking them.
Then, the main imports would be raw materials that were not readily available in the territory.
It was just yesterday afternoon.
The preliminary batch of ten thousand cell phones ready to be supplied to Wangsa had been assembled and were simply awaiting Wangsa’s arrival to take delivery today afternoon.
