Chapter 58: Chapter 51: Joining the Team (Begging for a Recommendation!)_1
"I appreciate your help, Uncle Lu," Tang Qing expressed his gratitude. He was indeed very busy recently. If it were possible to solve two problems at once, it would be the best. Moreover, if he truly decided to acquire this clothing factory, he needed to conduct an on-site assessment, and there were numerous annoying problems in the initial phase, such as personnel arrangements and company registration.
Although he was only seventeen and legally could not register a company, it didn’t affect his rights as the controlling shareholder. He just needed to find an adult to register as the legal representative at the Industrial and Commercial Bureau. As soon as he turned eighteen, he could change the representative to himself.
"No problem, it’s a piece of cake. Please wait a moment, I’ll make a call." Having said this, Lu Jianhui dialed a number right in front of Tang Qing. It’s better to make such calls face-to-face, so Tang Qing wouldn’t suspect that he was playing tricks or taking bribes. Lu Jianhui had no interest in such baseless accusations.
Hearing snippets of the conversation, Tang Qing concluded that the other party would be coming soon.
"All set, Little Tang. She’ll be here soon, in about ten minutes," Lu Jianhui said with a smile after hanging up the phone.
"She seems quite eager," Zhang Dongqing laughed.
"Indeed, the other party can’t wait to sell it off, so they can at least get several million in cash. Every day the factory stays open, they incur a loss. You wouldn’t believe how eagerness she was when she heard that someone wanted to buy her factory. Few people can suddenly bring out so much money, so Little Tang, you can bargain a little during the negotiation," Lu Jianhui explained with a laugh.
"Bargain?" Tang Qing asked. The other party’s father was seriously ill and it seemed a bit unreasonable to bargain at such a time. However, he came to understand that in business, one must be ruthless. Still, he decided to go a bit easy on the price-cutting.
In less than ten minutes, the other party arrived in their private room. She was out of breath, clearly in a hurry. Much to Tang Qing’s surprise, she was quite stunning - at least 1.7 meters tall, with black-framed glasses and long hair dyed black with hints of purple, which was quite unconventional for that time.
Tang Qing couldn’t identify the brand of her clothes, but her whole appearance struck him as highly coordinated. It was as if she was born to put outfits together like this.
Tang Qing couldn’t help but think how fitting it was for her to be in the clothing business. The ability to coordinate clothes like she did wasn’t something just anyone could learn in a short time; some of it depended on innate talent.
"Hello, Uncle Lu," the young woman said with a nod and a smile as she entered the room before turning to Lu Jianhui and waiting for him to introduce the others.
"Ah, Xiao Yan has arrived. Come, take a seat. Little Tang, this is Qi Yan, the owner of the clothing factory I mentioned to you. This is our little God of Wealth, Tang Qing, who is interested in your factory. This is my friend, you can call him Uncle Zhang," Lu Jianhui got up and introduced each person. Usually, he would introduce Zhang Dongqing first, but since Tang Qing was the protagonist for this occasion, it was fine to introduce him first.
"Nice to meet you, Uncle Zhang," Qi Yan greeted Zhang Dongqing respectfully. She still held to the principle of respecting elders despite her current collaborator being Tang Qing. 𝘯𝘰𝑣𝘱𝑢𝘣.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Zhang Dongqing responded cordially.
"Hello, I’ll call you Sister Yan. You can call me Little Tang," before Qi Yan could speak, Tang Qing stood up and replied with a smile.
"Hehe, fine then, Brother Little Tang. You’re still in school, right?" Qi Yan asked, surprised at the sight of Tang Qing’s student uniform. Upon entering, she had assumed Tang Qing was Zhang Dongqing’s son. She recognized Lu Jianhui’s son and was quite amazed that this business negotiation was with a student, though her worldly experience didn’t let her exhibition surprise.
"Yes, I’m still in my senior year of high school," Tang Qing replied with a smile.
"Being in school is wonderful. Little Tang is impressive, being so young and having so much money. May I ask what your family does?" Qi Yan couldn’t help prying. Although she knew it was a bit impolite, she couldn’t resist her curiosity.
"The funds are from my business partners. Let’s sit down," Tang Qing answered ambiguously, clearly unhappy with Qi Yan’s persistent inquiry. Both were there to discuss business, not to investigate one another’s background. Such behavior showed that Qi Yan lacked business savvy, and such a temperament might not be suited for running a sizable factory.
"Okay, Little Tang. I won’t beat around the bush. This is the situation with our factory. Please, have a look," upon hearing this, Qi Yan felt a bit embarrassed but tried to handle it by passing Tang Qing a document.
Tang Qing started looking over a twenty-page document containing basic information about the factory - licenses, key management personnel, amount of equipment, number of orders, payment terms, and a bit of expected valuation. With a rough reading of ten minutes or so, he gathered that overall the factory was quite satisfactory.
It wasn’t because he had experience, but simply because as long as there were people and equipment there, that was enough. Besides, with Lu Jianhui showing interest in buying the factory, it must be pretty decent. Once they hired some designers, they could get started. Although Tang Qing felt this thinking was a bit presumptuous, there was no crime in thinking. Mistakes made could be corrected slowly; he could afford to take the risk.
"Overall, it’s not bad, and I’m quite satisfied. It’s just the price is a bit high," Tang Qing closed the document and said to Qi Yan. He had decided to acquire the factory and let it be the first brick in his business empire.
"We can negotiate on the price. What I am most concerned with is your capability," Qi Yan admitted frankly as she sat with her fists under her chin, looking straight at Tang Qing. After all, five million was not a small amount. After hearing what Lu Jianhui had to say about it over the phone, she believed at first that the other party had the capability. However, having met Tang Qing, she felt she needed further confirmation.
