Chapter 600: Chapter 504 Three Types of Special Class Goods (Seeking Subscription!)_1
Looking at the buildings, Tang Qing wished they were inhabitable. However, this was impossible, at least in the short term. The cost of making them livable was too high, almost necessitating charging by the second. It was absolutely unnecessary.
Tang Qing had a thought.
A military off-road vehicle appeared beside him out of nowhere.
Since he was here, he decided to explore the ghost city. It was indeed a novel experience.
"Vroom...."
The engine roared into life.
The off-road vehicle catapulted forward, swerving swiftly through the deserted streets.
There were no operational traffic lights and the roads were clear. This was an ideal place for a car race. In the past, Tang Qing raced on the muddy land outside the training area. Driving in the zigzag city streets here was quite pleasant.
Half an hour later.
Tang Qing had taken a full round of the city intended for training. He returned to the starting point and got off the car. Tang Qing felt that the city was huge, but eerily devoid of people. It was unsettling to stay here for long, given that humans were social animals.
"Little Two, pull up the map," Tang Qing ordered aloud.
He wanted to visit other places. Distance was no longer a deterrent as he could get anywhere in the blink of an eye. He intended to visit all the parts of the training area he hadn’t been to that day.
"Yes, commander,"
As soon as Little Two had finished speaking, the previous map was projected in front of Tang Qing’s eyes again.
Looking at another training area not far from the city, Tang Qing reported its coordinates.
The scene changed once more.
Tang Qing found himself amidst a snowy landscape.
It was a genuine icy world. Snow was falling thickly from the sky, obscuring the boundaries. Tang Qing hastily activated his psychic barrier to block the snowfall.
But he couldn’t block the enveloping cold. His nerve telekinesis was not yet capable of completely insulating him against energy transfers.
Watching the snowflakes and rain being driven away by his psychic barrier, like water running down a glass curtain, impairing his vision, Tang Qing asked aloud, "Little Two, can you manipulate the snowfall here?"
"Yes, commander," Little Two replied.
"Then, stop the snowfall first," Tang Qing ordered.
"Yes, commander."
Once Little Two had spoken, the snowfall ceased within seconds. Tang Qing then deactivated his psychic barrier.
As he looked around the snowy landscape, Tang Qing realized that the ground was mostly ice without accumulated snow. Of course, it had been sleet earlier. The snow melted into the rain and was probably controlled in this way by the training area. If it kept raining and snowing every day, thick ice would form and the area would become unplayable. With the amount of snowfall he had just seen, the snow could reach a meter deep in a day.
Sleet, with the snow melting into the rain and flowing away somewhere.
A clever cycle of recycling.
Not a bad arrangement.
Tang Qing strolled around and found nothing of interest. There was ice everywhere, all around, making it slippery to walk on. He had almost fallen several times. Though the layer of ice was not thick, it was chilling.
"Little Two, how extreme can the weather be here?" Tang Qing asked out of curiosity.
"Commander, it can create a storm with a wind speed equivalent to a level 12 typhoon and a temperature as low as negative one hundred degrees," Little Two replied.
Tang Qing was taken aback.
The weather creation technology was so fierce. Although a level 12 typhoon was not the highest wind speed and negative one hundred degrees was not the lowest temperature, such extreme weather conditions were rare on Earth. Even the lowest recorded temperature in Antarctica was only negative ninety-something degrees.
Remembering how he had used his psychic barrier to block the sleet earlier, Tang Qing wanted to try to see how much wind and snow he could withstand before being blown away.
But he could not act recklessly. Taking on the highest difficulty level right off the bat would be utterly reckless. After giving it some thought, Tang Qing ordered, "Little Two, let’s first try sleet with a level eight wind speed. Let’s not attempt the extremely cold weather." Tang Qing wanted to test his ’psychic barrier’ and ’magnetic field resonance’ abilities, not his body’s ability to withstand cold.
"Yes, Commander."
As soon as Little Two had finished speaking, Tang Qing hurriedly erected his psychic barrier. He saw a storm of sleet approaching him from the right. It was like an enormous beast. In no time, the sleet hit his psychic barrier along with the powerful wind.
A level eight wind was not very strong, but if the surface area of the barrier was large, it was an entirely different story. For instance, walking in strong winds was manageable, but try walking while carrying a large board in front of you.
Tang Qing’s psychic barrier was an oval shape, like the magical shield skill in Legend. Because it had a large surface area and he was standing on a smooth ice surface, Tang Qing was pushed backward, sliding back a few steps.
Tang Qing quickly activated the ’magnetic field resonance’.
In an instant, one of the psychic nodes on his back detected the training area’s magnetic field. A repulsive force was created, and Tang Qing stood firm. Seeing that a level eight wind only required him to use one psychic node, Tang Qing immediately ordered, "Little Two, increase to a level nine wind speed."
"Yes, Commander."
A few seconds later, the wind pressure noticeably increased. One psychic node was slightly strained, so Tang Qing promptly activated a second one.
"Little Two, level ten wind speed."
...
"Little Two, Level Eleven wind speed."
...
Merely increasing to a Level Eleven wind speed, all of Tang Qing’s telekinetic nodes were in use. He could barely remain stable in this storm. As he watched drops of rain pierce his psychic barrier from time to time, Tang Qing knew, this, was his limit.
If it were a Level Twelve wind force, he probably would be swept off his feet.
"Little Two, stop it." Tang Qing had no wish of being swept up into the sky.
Afterward, the wind and snow gradually ceased, and the area regained its usual appearance. The sky was clear, as if everything that had just occurred was a mere hallucination. However, Tang Qing’s wet clothes told him that it had all been real.
"Interesting." Tang Qing murmured.
This place could actually be used for training his two skills in the future. Not bad.
Tang Qing then visited a few other places in the training area. There was a scorching and dry desert, a deep and mysterious karst cave, a gloomy rainforest, a complicated mine pit... indeed, the variety of the area’s landscapes could be pretty handy if one was planning to shoot a movie - whatever environment one desired could be created.
It was genuinely like he could command the wind and summon the rain in minutes
What a pity.
This place could never be open to the public.
Arriving back at the Command Room, Tang Qing had Little Two place the new teleportation node in Qingyan City.
Adding in this one, he now had three teleportation nodes.
One was in Africa, ready to provide weapons and send fighters at a moment’s notice.
Another was in his territory for transporting raw materials and industrial equipment.
And the last one, he planned to primarily locate in Qingyan City. If anything were to occur over there, he would be able to quickly rush back or dispatch fighters swiftly. Qingyan City was his main base, his family was there, so he mustn’t be careless.
Tang Qing then looked through the items in the System Shop.
There were many more weapons available, even various ammunition had appeared, even unmanned drones. However, there still weren’t any flight equipment capable of carrying people, not even a civilian helicopter.
There were also several advanced industrial equipment However, the technology levels hadn’t increased greatly and couldn’t entirely replace the existing equipment.
Besides weapons and industrial equipment, Tang Qing discovered a new category of products - Special Items.
Tang Qing was genuinely taken aback after seeing the items in the new special category. Damn it, these items were incredibly formidable. He wasn’t ready for such a drastic change. There were three new items in this new category.
1. Military-grade Quantum Communication Surveillance Satellite:
A price of five hundred million RMB, maximum purchase quantity: 0/6. Functions: Provides all-weather surveillance and detection of physical activity on the planet’s surface, offers positioning and high-speed data transmission services, equipped with an anti-gravity engine, capable of quick orbit changes. Also, comes equipped with non-conventional light kinetic weapons, carrying up to thirty rounds, resolution of 0.01 cm.
2. Small Kinetic Weapon Protective Shield:
A price of one hundred million RMB, maximum purchase quantity: 0/10. Functions: Wearable equipment, can resist damage from standard kinetic weapons, the number of times varies depending on the remaining energy, rechargeable.
3. Civilian Nuclear Power Plant Construction Solution:
A price of one billion RMB, maximum purchase quantity: 0/1. Functions: Provides the complete technology for heavy nuclear fission power generation, scientists can design and modify approval, moved to the Mall’s Industrial Equipment production list.
Tang Qing was genuinely startled by these three items, followed by immense surprise.
Each one of these is incredibly useful.
The first one could establish a global surveillance network, which would greatly minimize the placement of surveillance equipment, especially in Africa where things were complicated. This would be incredibly useful for the fighters executing tasks.
Uninterrupted surveillance, day and night, it was like always having an eye in the sky watching over the fighters on their missions.
As for the second one, it was something Tang Qing had been wanting for a while. This technology existed in the Command Room. Each chair there had this defensive function, but those chairs couldn’t be dismantled or taken out, hence he could only observe.
And the last one also solved one of his biggest headaches. With the growth of factories and the extensive installation of civilian power lines, the territory was becoming more and more dependent on electricity. Solar power could solve many problems, but without the sun, they are useless. Furthermore, the voltage it provided was unstable. It was ideal for families, but for large scale mining businesses, it wouldn’t have been favourable.
Generating power using combustibles polluted the environment, and a hydropower station was far from reality. It would be better to get a nuclear power plant instead, which could resolve the issue all at once. However, it had to be concealed carefully, otherwise, it would be impossible to explain.
Among all these items, what troubled Tang Qing the most was money.
To buy all three items, it would cost a total of fifty billion RMB. He didn’t have enough money or Asia dollars. The Asia dollars that were issued had all been used up. The only other options would be to increase trade and earning more, or getting the money from elsewhere.
He could use foreign currency, but a lot of it was for trading and future trade budgets. Even though it could potentially value up to a hundred billion RMB, Tang Qing didn’t want to touch the territory’s funds.
So what should he do?
Tang Qing had set his sights on Tongtian’s small treasury.
Tongtian could be said to be the most profitable golden goose under his control, and all its operations had essentially zero cost. Helping people collect debts had very low costs, and with a few other tasks to help out, Tongtian was slowly developing into a mercenary guild of sorts.
Besides that, the money laundering business overseas was also thriving. While it didn’t earn as much as debt collection, it was a steady source of income.
To date, Tongtian’s treasury had exceeded thirty billion RMB. These were funds that he could use freely. The cost of maintaining Tongtian was incredibly low. Thus, Tongtian had essentially become a small bank for Tang Qing. It was a bank where he could borrow funds whenever he pleased, and he didn’t have to pay it back.
