Chapter 63: Chapter 55-56: Dare to Jump the Queue? (Seeking recommendations!)_1
"Boss, you were quite domineering just now!"
As soon as they left the building, Qi Yan’s expression changed to a laugh.
Earlier, the way Tang Qing showed off his authority excited her, like a scene from a TV series where someone outtalks everybody present. Of course, she admired him, not in a romantic way, but only admired him for his capabilities.
After all, she was already twenty-five, a full seven years older than Tang Qing, making it impossible for anything to happen. She had never considered dating a younger man, she was no longer an impulsive young girl.
She saw Tang Qing as a younger brother.
"You’re not heartless, I don’t know anybody here, and I’m not interested in their past achievements, neither need to talk about feelings nor reason, regardless of who they are." Tang Qing didn’t feel particularly capable, if this factory was his, with a bunch of old employees who had been with him for ten or twenty years, he wouldn’t be ruthless either, he was a sentimental person.
"Hee hee, that’s true." Qi Yan laughed softly.
"Let’s quickly proceed with the procedures. Thankfully I took a day off, let’s complete all the things that require my personal participation today." Today was Friday, if they couldn’t finish everything, they would have to wait until next week.
Annoying.
"Yes, Lawyer Kong is already on his way to the Industrial and Commercial Department, he will complete the entire process for us, I’m not very clear about the process of setting up a company and transferring a factory." Qi Yan said with a smile.
"Neither do I, just leave professional matters to the professionals."
After saying that, Qi Yan drove her dad’s Santana.
And arrived at the Industrial and Commercial Bureau of Qingyan City with Tang Qing.
"Lawyer Kong, sorry to have kept you waiting, this is my boss, Tang Qing." As soon as they entered the bureau, they saw a man in a suit holding a briefcase standing at the entrance. Qi Yan quickly went up to introduce him.
"Miss Qi, hello, Boss Tang, I didn’t expect you to be so young." Kong Fan was taken aback for a moment, then he extended his hand, after all, he was quite worldly.
"Nice to meet you, Lawyer Kong, let’s go inside." Tang Qing smiled.
"Please follow me."
They went inside.
At that time, a few people were queuing up to submit materials, they guessed it would be a while before their turn came.
"Boss Tang, here, fill in this form to select a few company names." Lawyer Kong took out a form.
"Okay."
Tang Qing took the form.
As for the company name, his first choice was Sheng Tang Limited Liability Company, he had spent all night deciding on it. Of course, to avoid the name being unavailable, he had come up with several other names that had nothing to do with his own name.
After submitting the form with the lawyer’s help, they completed the process of verifying the funding. The lawyer’s connections were helpful here. Otherwise, how could it be so quick? Tang Qing felt that the labor fee of five thousand he had initially agreed on was worth it.
Once all the materials were ready.
They came back.
There was still more than an hour until noon. Kong Fan brought another stack of forms and said, "Miss Qi, Boss Tang, we’ll probably have to wait a while this time, the people in their department have all gone for a meeting, there’s only one person left."
"That’s fine." Tang Qing said.
They spent about twenty minutes.
They finally filled out and checked all the forms.
"Sister Yan, I’ll leave this to you, I need to go to the toilet, it looks like it’s almost our turn. You and Lawyer Kong can submit the materials." Tang Qing got up and said.
"Okay." Qi Yan said.
Then without asking anyone, Tang Qing started looking for the toilet, it took him a few minutes to find the men’s toilet on the third floor. As he was peeing and washing his hands, a surprised voice rang out behind him.
"Oh, Tang, you’re here too?"
Tang Qing turned around.
He immediately recalled the man who had tricked him by breaking the painting.
"Your name is... Liu something, right?" Tang Qing frowned.
"My name is Liu Kai, it’s been a while since we last met, but you’re still looking as glorious as ever!" Liu Kai said jokingly.
He remembered too.
He had never formally introduced himself last time, which made him rue it. It turned out that he was like a minor minion whose name the other person didn’t even know.
"Why aren’t you in school? What are you doing here?" Tang Qing asked.
Liu Kai was dressed like a student.
Moreover, his school uniform was from the Second Middle School. Obviously, he was a student. Today is Friday, not the weekend. Although Tang Qing didn’t know what grade Liu Kai was in, he knew it wasn’t possible for him to not have classes on Friday.
"I caught a cold last night, had an IV drip early this morning, and took a half-day off. On my way back from the hospital, I stopped here to use the restroom. Getting a drip is so troublesome because it has so much water." Liu Kai complained.
"Well, I’ve got things to do, so I won’t keep you."
They say two unlike minds don’t plan together. But on second thoughts, this excuse sounded so familiar. Where did he hear it before? Oh my goodness, it was his reason for taking leave this morning. What a coincidence!
"Did Young Master Tang come here for business?" Liu Kai asked with a shy smile.
Of course, he had noticed Tang Qing’s impatience, but this was what distinguished the second-generation rich from ordinary people. They could endure. In front of a powerful person, they didn’t think about escaping.
They preferred to get closer.
"What’s up?" Tang Qing asked indifferently.
"Nothing, my father is the permanent Deputy Director here. If you need help with anything, I’m at your disposal." Liu Kai promptly offered, hoping to strike up a good relationship with Tang Qing.
It was his own territory.
When else could he show off and lend a hand if not now? He could get things done here, but he would have to ask for help elsewhere. Unlike the children of city leaders, they all enjoyed privileges everywhere.
"I don’t think it’s necessary. I’m going to see how they’re doing." Tang Qing thought for a moment before responding.
He didn’t decline the offer outright.
It’s always smart not to offend those who mean well.
He was willing to give him a chance – the more friends, the better. All he saw in Liu Kai’s eyes was naivety. There was none of the sly viciousness. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have bothered to deal with him.
"No matter what you’re dealing with, I’ll make sure it’s speeded up for Young Master Tang." Liu Kai quickly assured him.
"Let’s go." Tang Qing said indifferently.
According to Lawyer Kong’s explanation, even if he used his connections to get the license, it would still take a few days. Plus, the weekend was coming. That meant he would have to wait five or six days. Since Liu Kai was here, he was wondering if everything could be sorted out today.
Having said that, Tang Qing stepped out.
Liu Kai also happily followed him.
...
At this time, Qi Yan was not having it easy either.
"I was here first, why is he allowed to jump the queue?" Qi Yan reproached. She had been waiting in line for a long time before it became her turn.
But, to her surprise, just as it was her turn, a middle-aged, obese man rushed in and jumped the queue.
The staff inside seemed to know him and chatted happily with him, ignoring Qi Yan. She couldn’t tolerate this.
"Yo, pretty lady, if you keep shouting, you’ll not get this done today. There’s a holiday coming up the day after tomorrow. You might only get it done next week, and that’s a ’might’ because it depends on my mood then, haha."
"You..." Qi Yan was furious.
The efficiency of the relevant departments was a national complaint. She had only heard about this but never experienced it. She could lose her temper in social interactions, but she didn’t dare to do so here. She didn’t want to cause any trouble for Tang Qing.
"Young lady, I’m Fan Jian. May I venture to ask your name?" The man who jumped the queue turned his head and smiled at Qi Yan. He hadn’t paid attention to her earlier because he was rushing to get things done.
At this moment, he finally noticed Qi Yan, a beauty, and his heart began to race.
Looking at this fat man, who looked even more grotesque when he laughed, Qi Yan felt nauseated.
"Scram."
With gritted teeth, Qi Yan told him to get lost.
"This young lady has a strong personality. I’ve got connections here. If we become friends, I’ll ensure your work is done today. How about that?" Fan Jian didn’t care that Qi Yan was cursing him and started talking about the condition.
"You..."
Upon hearing this, Qi Yan was angry and didn’t know what to say.
She thought to herself, there were such disgusting people out there.
But she was not someone who would curse others. Even if she wanted to, she would be too embarrassed to say such dirty words. She despised people with foul mouths the most.
Just then, a voice rang out from behind her.
"Sister Yan, how did it go?" Tang Qing asked at the door.
"Those people bully others and don’t process my application. Some people even cut in line," Qi Yan said angrily as she walked to Tang Qing’s side. She spoke softly, as there were already a few people behind her in line watching them. She didn’t want to make a scene and cause trouble for Tang Qing, making herself a laughingstock.
"They won’t process it? Why? It’s not even the end of the day yet! Is there a problem with the materials?" Tang Qing asked with a frown. His time was tight, as he had other matters to attend to in the afternoon. Today was a rare day off, and he couldn’t afford to delay until next Monday, especially since Shen Mei wouldn’t let him off easily.
"Our turn came up, but a fat guy cut in line. When I confronted him, the staff member accused me of shouting and said they wouldn’t process it today," Qi Yan briefly explained the situation. She didn’t mention being hit on by Fan Jian, as it made her feel disgusted.
"Heh, poor attitude? They’re calling this a poor attitude?" Tang Qing sneered. Cutting in line was one thing, but refusing to process their application was unacceptable. Time was precious, and wasting time was wasting lives. It seemed the decision to bring Liu Kai along was the right one.
"Xiao Liu," Tang Qing called without turning his head.
"Tang Shao, what would you like me to do?" Liu Kai, who was standing behind Tang Qing, respectfully stepped forward. He had heard Qi Yan’s words clearly and knew this was an opportunity to mend his relationship with Tang Qing. Though he despised the staff member’s behavior, he couldn’t help but think it worked in his favor.
"I need to set up a company and transfer a factory. Take care of it for me. I’m in a hurry, is that a problem?" Tang Qing said calmly.
"Tang Shao, no problem at all. Leave it to me. The former head of this office is still in the hospital awaiting retirement, so my father is in charge. Anyone who dares to disrespect Tang Shao will be dealt with," Liu Kai confidently replied, speaking softly so as not to draw attention from those around. Those at the counter didn’t hear Liu Kai’s words; otherwise, it would have been a different story.
"Yan Jiejie, give all the documents to him. We’ll wait here. His father runs this place," Tang Qing whispered to Qi Yan.
"Ah... oh... here," Qi Yan snapped out of her thoughts and handed over the materials. From Liu Kai’s words, she realized Tang Qing must have a powerful background.
"Rest assured, Tang Shao... and Jiejie," Liu Kai said respectfully, accepting the documents. He admired Tang Qing’s network of contacts and realized Tang Qing must have a higher status than the future director.
Liu Kai marched into the office with the documents. Unlike in the future, Qingyan City’s Industrial and Commercial Bureau didn’t have a service hall. Most services were handled in individual offices, and the doors were open, processing one person at a time.
"Hey, get on with this case. As for that person, come back next week," Liu Kai said arrogantly, approaching the young staff member’s desk. He had intended to look for the section chief or deputy chief, but they were unavailable. This newcomer seemed perfect for him to vent his frustration.
"Who do you think you are, just barging in here? Get out. This isn’t a place for kids," the young man retorted angrily. He was in a bad mood and decided to assert his newfound authority.
"I... damn..." Liu Kai was enraged. Being insulted on his father’s turf in front of Tang Qing was humiliating. This young man was now public enemy number one.
"Damn it, who are you? Wait right here. People, where did your leaders go!" Liu Kai shouted, determined to handle the matter without resorting to violence.
"Move aside, make way. What’s going on here?" A man in charge pushed through the crowd at the door.
"Who is causing all this commotion? Oh, it’s young Mr. Liu. What brings you here?" The man immediately greeted Liu Kai with a smile. Liu Kai wasn’t a frequent visitor, so the man’s surprise was genuine.
"It’s Section Chief Jing. How do you train your subordinates? This new kid dared to insult me. Your training is terrible," Liu Kai said loudly, knowing that Section Chief Jing was merely a deputy and not someone he needed to respect.
"Mr. Liu, what happened to upset you?" Section Chief Jing asked with a forced smile, not daring to confront Liu Kai.
"That guy insulted me and refused to help my friend. How do you plan to handle this?" Liu Kai demanded, pointing at the scared young staff member.
"Is this true? Calm down, Mr. Liu. Let me handle this," Section Chief Jing said, turning to the young man with a stern expression.
"Fan Tong, what have you done now? Can’t you learn from your past mistakes? Mr. Liu is our director’s only son. Explain yourself," Section Chief Jing scolded.
"I... I..." Fan Tong stammered, realizing his mistake. He had been trying to impress his distant relative and now found himself in hot water.
"Enough, we’ll deal with you later. Process this first," Section Chief Jing ordered impatiently.
"Okay...," Fan Tong replied nervously, quickly handling the paperwork with trembling hands.
"And you, get out. You can come back next week," Liu Kai directed at Fan Jian, seeing an opportunity to exact further punishment.
"Yes, yes, understood," Fan Jian nodded repeatedly, quickly leaving after collecting his materials.
