Chapter 695: Chapter 599 Myanmar Asia Chamber of Commerce (Subscription needed!)_1

Familiar with the route.

The two arrived at Ling’s office.

Tang Kai suddenly noticed that Ling was still wearing his previous territory military uniform.

He didn’t change into a suit or any other style, which was somewhat out of line. The message portrayed was intriguing. Does this mean that Ling doesn’t fully acknowledge his position in Yangon?

Not only was Tang Kai having this thought, but Wangsa also had reservations. At Ling’s position, what one wore was quite a concern, but he couldn’t figure out Ling’s psychology. He didn’t bother to think too much, as long as there was money to be made, everything else didn’t matter.

"Deputy Leader Ling, hello." Tang Kai and Wangsa greeted together.

Ling nodded and gestured them to sit down.

After the two sat down, Ling said straightforwardly, "Boss Tang, Officer Wangsa, welcome to Xin’an Town, and I am glad to see your contribution for the future of Xin’an City. I’ve read your tender documents, and the price is quite reasonable, not too high or too low."

"Then we ..." Tang Kai asked anxiously, and Wangsa was also nervously looking at Ling.

Ling continued, "Don’t worry, although some people offer a lower price than you, they don’t completely accept the Asia Dollar. Since they don’t accept our currency, there’s nothing to negotiate about any further.

Except for some special projects, most of the projects you have bid for have been allocated to you. I hope you won’t disappoint me, ensure the quality and progress of the construction, and here’s to our happy cooperation."

This principle is also set by Tang Qing, apart from those needing to be shared entirely in terms of interests, other ’active parts’ will depend on whether they can accept Asia Dollar as a currency. This reason is not only a principle but also an explanation to outsiders when the tender is announced.

Otherwise, based on what could Tang Kai and Wangsa take down this project? They need to give the outside world a reasonable justification, to shut their mouths.

"No problem, we will definitely complete it in quantity and quality." Tang Kai said excitedly, knowing that Huaxia and Myanmar came in large numbers, especially the construction companies in the adjacent Yunnan Province, and quite a few people had come from Thailand.

Some of these people had previous cooperation agreements, and more were flies smelling the scent of eggs, wanting to make a quick buck, with very few willing to accept Asia Dollars.

With Ling’s assurance, they were at ease.

What does ’the majority’ mean, implying that their winning bids will not be less than three billion Asia Dollars? This is the most conservative estimate, over half, and even a little over half will be considered a majority.

Their total bid price is over sixty billion Asia Dollars. If lucky, it could be forty to fifty billion. However, Ling didn’t specify the amount, so they couldn’t ask.

Just as Tang Kai and Wangsa thought the discussion was about to end.

Ling suddenly said:

"Both of you, in addition to this matter today, there is another thing. I want to invite you to join the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Commerce."

The two were shocked.

Joining the chamber?

"Myanmar Asia Chamber of Commerce?" Wangsa confirmed quietly.

Ling nodded and said, "Yes, the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Commerce is a legitimate institution under the Myanmar Bank Group. It mainly consists of the Myanmar Bank and its subsidiaries, and it also uses the invitation system for external members.

However, ordinary private business owners are not qualified, and only those reaching certain conditions can do so, such as influence and strength. After joining, you can enjoy various benefits from the chamber."

The introduction was very simple.

"I will join."

Tang Kai accepted without a second thought.

His business was given by Ling, he is feeding off Ling. Ling is also a friend of a friend of Tang Qing, Ling must know him. Since that was the case, it was impossible for him to be harmed, he saw it very clearly. In this land, those related to Ling and the Myanmar Bank Group have great potential for future development.

As for the benefits.

He could find out later.

Wangsa was stunned.

He didn’t expect Tang Kai to agree so promptly. He wanted to agree as well, as he also saw Ling as someone who can achieve great things. However, he had the responsibility of his family behind him, and couldn’t make decisions so rashly.

"Deputy Leader Ling, you know that I am not alone, I have a family behind me, so ..." Wangsa’s tone was full of apology.

Ling smiled and shook his head, "It’s alright, Officer Wangsa. Once your family has made a decision you can get back to me, but you only have three days. After three days, the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Commerce will end the invitation for the first batch of members, and hold the first internal meeting of the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Commerce. The next opportunity will be at least half a year later."

To raise the threshold, a time and quantity limit was necessary.

Wangsa hastily replied, "I understand, as soon as the family makes a decision I will reply to you immediately. But I don’t know what are the benefits of joining? Personally, I am willing. I am full of confidence in cooperating with you, but I need to convince the people in my family. I hope you can understand."

"No problem, there are many benefits, such as information sharing, priority allocation of resources, prioritized right to choose projects, and qualification for foreign currency loans from the Myanmar Bank Group. There is mutual assistance among members within the chamber and so on. As for the specifics, there will be a detailed introduction after joining." Ling explained briefly.

Although he didn’t give full details.

But even the bits and pieces he revealed was enough to pique the interest of both.

This was far superior to regular chambers of commerce, backed by the Myanmar Bank Group, their other businesses in Myanmar should also run smoothly, especially the priority selection of projects and resource allocation, they had already experienced the sweetness of these perks.

They were really very sweet.

"Are there any obligations?" Wangsa asked again.

"Of course, they mainly involve member assistance and support policies within the council. They’re not too extensive, but everything else is considered council-confidential at the moment," Ling replied.

The purpose of the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Commerce is to stick together, enhance the international influence of the Myanmar Bank Group, and allocate external resources.

What does ’external resources’ mean?

The Myanmar Bank has a deep influence within its territory on various businesses. It has a hand in various aspects like production, sales, contacts, and procurement of raw materials. However, its control drops significantly outside its territory.

In order for the centralized procurement, collective bargaining, and internal support operations of Myanmar Bank Group to expand and influence beyond this territory, the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Commerce was born as an economic cooperation organization independent of industrial alliances.

And the main goal of this invitation is Tang Kai.

Once he joins, if Tang Kai’s company encounters any difficulties or is treated unfairly in any country, Tang Qing wouldn’t need to intervene personally. He can directly order the Myanmar Bank Group to do so.

In other words,

Tang Qing is offering his uncle a legal umbrella, a valid reason to stand up for his uncle.

As for Wangsa, he is of secondary importance. The reason he is invited is because there’s a policy of internal support among members of the Myanmar Asia Chamber of Commerce. If Tang Qing’s uncle ever faces any trouble, the Myanmar Bank Group would go all out to help, and Wangsa must also contribute.

Upon seeing that Ling had nothing else to say, Wangsa did not ask further, preferring to leave the matter to the people of his family to ponder over.

Tang Kai has no more doubts. It sounds great and appears to be even more rigorous, scientific, and powerful than the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Thailand.

"Do you have anything else?" Ling asked.

Tang Kai cautiously asked, "Deputy Leader Ling, are you still accepting investments in business projects around this area? I have a friend who also wants to invest here. Or perhaps, do you know when the next Investment Promotion Conference will take place?"

"We no longer need to hold large-scale Investment Promotion Conferences to allocate industries. However, once you officially join Myanmar Asia Chamber of Commerce, you can select from the Chamber’s shared catalogue for your friend. This way, there wouldn’t be any procedural issues," Ling replied, shaking his head.

The enterprises within their territory have already divided up a large part of the projects in the full industry chain plan, and plans for any large-scale recruitment were halted by Tang Qing. Their future looks promising, with potential for great growth and strength.

"Great, thank you."

Tang Kai was thrilled, despite not knowing the specific benefits. The first benefit alone made him extremely happy.

The conversation ended.

As they walked out of the service center, the sun was blinding. A soldier hurried over to hold an umbrella for Tang Kai. Wangsa also enjoyed this treatment, as he didn’t have any soldiers with him.

Upon seeing Tang Kai emerge, Liu Qian promptly approached.

Boss Tang, what did he say?" Liu Qian eagerly asked.

A smile spread across Tang Kai’s face as he said, "He said it’s possible, but it will take a few days. He invited me to join a chamber of commerce. When that happens, I’ll have the right to choose projects for you."

"Fantastic, I knew there wouldn’t be any issues if you stepped in," said Liu Qian, his face brightening.

"Let’s go celebrate," Tang Kai said with a mysterious smile.

"Did it work?" asked Liu Qian, his eyes shining.

"Hmm, we’re not sure how big the tender bid will be. That’ll be announced tomorrow. But it won’t be small," Tang Kai said, unable to stop smiling. This was about money, after all. Most importantly, this was a good start. Future city expansions would bring another huge opportunity.

"Haha, congratulations! We should indeed celebrate," Liu Qian said, genuinely happy for Tang Kai.

Just then, two figures approached."

"Boss Liu, this must be Boss Tang, right?" one of them asked with a smile.

As Tang Kai looked puzzled, Liu Qian quickly introduced, "Little bro Tang, these two are from Huaxia. They’re the heads of the group’s branch companies responsible for constructing the airport and railway in the special zone. This is General Manager Zhao Xi and this is Han Shu."

"Nice to meet you," Tang Kai said, shaking hands with each of them individually. Meanwhile, Wangsa, who was on his phone reporting the matter of the Chamber of Commerce to his family, overheard the conversation.

"Nice to meet you as well. Boss Tang, I heard you conduct substantial business. It seems as though you’ve just clinched another big deal. Congratulations," Zhao Xi said, hearing Liu Qian’s comment about the successful deal. Both men had come in to process some paperwork and upon leaving, they ran into Liu Qian. They saw Liu Qian was a fellow Chinese man and came up to say hello. They didn’t expect him to be such a major entrepreneur.

Knowing that he was waiting for someone, they started chatting. What caught their attention the most was Liu Qian’s car and the person Tang Kai was meeting. They were impressed and decided to get to know Tang Kai better as they had some time on their hands.

"Just a small deal compared to what you two are doing," replied Tang Kai humbly.

Zhao Xi laughed heartily and said, "Haha, ours is state-related, while yours is personal. That’s incomparable. Why don’t we find a place to eat? We’ll be staying here for a while, it’ll be good to get to know each other."

"Sounds good, it’ll be lively," replied Tang Kai as he nodded in agreement. Then speaking in Thai he asked Wangsa, "Commander Wangsa, would you like to join us for a meal?"

Wangsa shook his head and replied, "No, thank you. I have to receive a superior visit today, so I need to go back."

"Alright then, safe journey," said Tang Kai.

He knew this was the case as Wangsa had told him this in the morning. Seeing the car that was clearly carrying Thai military plates, both Liu Qian and Zhao Xi began to look at Tang Kai in a new light. Despite not being in uniform, their status was clearly high. The fact that he had such close ties with the military in Thailand and could meet with Ling in Myanmar suggested that he was indeed a person of significance.

"Let’s go, I know a Chinese restaurant around here that serves pretty good food. Let’s give it a try," suggested Tang Kai with a smile.

"I’m sure it will be great."
