Chapter 749: Chapter 650: Who causes trouble, kill them (Please subscribe!)_1
He hung up the phone.
Tang Kai and Wangsa said their goodbyes.
Headed to the headquarters of the Myanmar Bank Group, even though it was the weekend, the Myanmar Bank did not have any days off. It operated round-the-clock, and the bank staff adopted a shift-rest rotation pattern.
Arriving at their headquarters.
With the warm reception of the staff,
Tang Kai signed what could arguably be the simplest bank loan agreement in history.
It was just a single A4 page, the contents were not much more than an informal IOU, stating that Tang Kai was borrowing three hundred million dollars in cash from the Myanmar Bank, using Tang Qing’s domestic assets as collateral, and that Tang Qing would be responsible for the repayment.
They didn’t even include a clause for violation of terms.
It could be said to be sloppily made to the extreme.
If it wasn’t for the fact that this was indeed the headquarters of the Myanmar Bank Group, and if the guy in front of him wasn’t indeed the Deputy Manager of the Myanmar Bank, he might have suspected that he had run into a fake bank. The entire process felt as though it was purely for formality’s sake, he just signed his name and left.
Tang Kai stumbled out of the building of the Myanmar Bank Group.
He was still a little dazed.
Did he really just borrow three hundred million dollars like that?
It was too quick.
However, since all had been arranged by Tang Qing, he could only choose to trust and wait for the funds to come in tomorrow.
As for his cooperation with Ayman this time, he trusted Tang Qing wouldn’t mess it up. When it came to business prowess, Tang Qing might not be on his level, but in terms of steadiness and caution, Tang Qing was not inferior to him. Plus, he had that resourceful friend watching over things.
When he could do something, it meant there was a certain profit to be made.
Returning to the construction site.
Wangsa was still discussing the progress of the project with the Chinese project manager. He didn’t speak Chinese, so everything was translated by his secretary.
Seeing Tang Kai return, Wangsa did not ask where he had gone. When Tang Kai left previously, he didn’t state his intentions, implying that he didn’t want Wangsa to know. Wangsa didn’t have such a strong curiosity, everyone had matters they didn’t want others to know about.
"Boss Tang, I think we can make a trip to Yangon in a while." Wangsa suddenly grinned mysteriously.
Tang Kai, who was still thinking about the three hundred million dollar loan, snapped back to reality, and asked in confusion, "What are we going to Yangon for?"
"For bidding." Wangsa smiled.
"What bidding?" Tang Kai was puzzled.
Wangsa leaned in and whispered, "According to reliable information, Myanmar is preparing to apply for a huge loan from Huaxia to develop its domestic economy, primarily investing in infrastructure, healthcare, education, light and heavy industries, and other fields related to the people’s livelihood. I think we can go there for some new construction projects."
"Oh? How much are they planning to borrow?" Tang Kai’s eyes lit up.
Wangsa shook his head, "It’s unclear for now, but definitely a lot, at least over 80 billion RMB. " The only information he had was about an initial proposal of at least 80 billion RMB.
"So much." Tang Kai exclaimed.
Wangsa continued excitedly, "That’s just the minimum. My network only gives me that much information. If it were Deputy Leader Ling, he would definitely know more. Just that I’m not daring enough to ask him about it."
After he finished speaking,
Wangsa looked at Tang Kai.
Tang Kai simply sent him a ’looking at me is no use’ look, helplessly responding, "Don’t look at me, I don’t have the nerve to make the call either. No rush, we’ll know in a few days. If it’s our opportunity, it won’t slip away. If it’s not, we can’t snatch it. We’ll see then."
They already had several projects on hand, Tang Kai was interested in new projects, but not eager.
"Makes sense, but we still need to be prepared. I have to think carefully about which industry would be the most profitable if Myanmar starts walking on the same path as Huaxia. We can discuss that later." Wangsa was always restless.
"..."
...
Later that night.
Ayman finished a meal that felt like a surreal delight and left reluctantly. He swooped up all the fruit from Tang Qing’s tea table and some leftover pastries from the table without a second thought.
This was the only time in his life that Ayman had ever packed food to go.
As a Saudi prince, this was something he had never done before out of fear for his image.
But when faced with delicious food,
Ayman did not care about maintaining a prince’s dignity anymore. He asked himself, could dignity be eaten? Obviously not! So why bother about saving face? He felt that he would never forget this taste, thinking about future times when it wouldn’t be available.
Ayman was resentful!
Angry with himself for insisting on eating Tang Qing’s food, which now, made him unable to quit it.
Leaving Tang Qing’s villa.
Ayman hugged the food in his hands tightly, not willing to let it go.
Suddenly he remembered his main objective.
He quickly dialed his father’s number.
"What is it?" A stern voice on the other side of the phone.
This made Ayman a little nervous, as he was always scared of his father since childhood. However, in the face of love, he managed to muster up some courage for once. If it wasn’t for his father noticing that his usually weak son was suddenly acting a lot more ’masculine’, he would have certainly put an end to Ayman’s plans.
"Father, I’ve found the investor for the oilfield." Ayman raised his voice, trying to feel more confident.
"Who?" The reply was succinct.
"Tang Qing." Ayman quickly responded.
"The Chinese man you met this time around?" Ayman’s father was sharp, naturally remembering the name Tang Qing. His son rarely had good friends; he had to investigate them thoroughly.
Ayman excitedly said, "Yes, that’s him. He responded to me this morning, accepting the remaining investment amount of 300 million dollars. Now you must keep your word; you are to cover the cost of fifty sets of mining equipment."
This was the gamble between them; if Ayman could raise the amount, his father would provide nearly 20 million dollars worth of equipment for free.
Ayman’s father pondered momentarily then said, "Tang Qing, the records show indeed has the capacity to bring such a large sum of money to the table. Alright, I get it. Once the road construction is completed, the equipment will be shipped."
"Fantastic, I’ll immediately inform them to start the process." answered Ayman.
A father’s love is as steady as a mountain.
Clearly, this was a case of him just trying to gild the lily.
Ayman was fully aware that this was his father’s way of supporting his child under a different guise, cleverly hidden behind his stern facade.
"Hmm."
The conversation between the father and son was brief.
With the phone call ended.
"Tang Qing? ...Hmm ...Interesting, hopefully, you can withstand the greed over there." Ayman’s father muttered, taking a sip of his fruit wine.
With a faint smile, he got back to his tasks.
His current visit to China is to prepare for Saudi’s entry into the WTO next month, examining potential trade agreements. This may be his last visit to China. His father had passed a few months back, and he still held his position.
However, he doubted he’d have his position in the next term.
That’s alright though.
It could be a relief.
After all, the Saudi tradition of passing power to the brother has not been changed by his father. And he was doubtful that the current king would manage this change.
If it does happen.
Then things would get exciting as it could create serious issues within Saudi.
If it doesn’t, the situation could be more bearable as everyone would just accept the inheritance of power based on age hierarchy.
Unfortunately, as far as he knew, the current king was indeed interested in altering the inheritance pattern in Saudi. Consequently, the fight for royal successorship could become a significant problem in Saudi. However, he no longer had a chance and wouldn’t get caught up in it.
...
The next afternoon.
Indeed, the 300 million dollars showed up in Tang Kai’s account, who immediately transferred it to Tang Qing’s dollar account.
In the meantime,
The massive investment hit Dou Jiao’s inbox.
Within five minutes, 𝓃𝓸𝓿𝓹𝓾𝓫.𝓬ℴ𝓶
Dou Jiao, who was enjoying her weekend, called.
"Boss, are you serious?" Dou Jiao anxiously asked about the unexpected massive investment. Her initial reaction was panic, not excitement, fearing that Tang Qing had been scammed.
"Would I joke about something like this?" Tang Qing chuckled in response.
"This money..." Dou Jiao hesitated to ask.
"I borrowed it from my second uncle, don’t worry. You guys should familiarize yourselves with the project first. Later, when the other two partners are ready, we can have a meeting and officially launch this project. Don’t worry about the project’s security, it’s all good." He was sure of his money; Ayman would not try to harm him, and no one could scam his money.
Tang Qing’s answer reassured Dou Jiao, as long as the money wasn’t from a loan shark.
"Okay, I’ll ask the team to familiarize themselves with it immediately." After a moment of hesitation, Dou Jiao stopped trying to persuade him. However, she had decided to have Sky Eye duly investigate this major acquisition case, especially since it was related to an oil field and involved considerable complexities.
The project’s investment cycle was also long, and there were many things to follow. This was a test for Sky Eye, but it rejuvenated Dou Jiao.
"Okay."
Upon ending the call,
Tang Qing was reminded of another matter.
Just now, the command room relayed crucial information that the current Algerian Minister for Energy and Mining had some interests in the oilfield. It wasn’t that he wanted to seize it. Rather, he was intending to make a quick buck before leaving office.
Tang Qing wasn’t sure about the particular method he would use.
But how does it matter?
It’s just a ’small fry’ from a foreign land; he felt no fear. Whosoever dared to interfere would be taken care of.
