"What you should be worried about is what is going to happen to you Morgan." The air carried Rufus' voice before his body followed. "You were very foolish Morgan, and your decision has brought shame on your name. Your family wants nothing to do with you anymore. You should have seen the disbelief on their faces when they found out what you and Shem were doing__betrayed is the right word. Any way the rest of the Montgomery's are safe at the academy.

In a place where not even Azur can touch them. The purification process for them is already underway and the blood ties between you and them are being cancelled. So...if Azur wants your descendants, he will meet a dead end because you have none..." He paused his speech when Morgan let out sharp and desperate gasp.

Blood flew from Morgan's face as she shook her head sideways. "No, you cannot take them there, they are not safe there either. Azur has people at the academy like me!" She unintentionally confessed. 𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙥𝒖𝒃.𝙘𝙤𝒎

Settling into a chair, Rufus draped one leg over the other, leaning back and not shocked by her confession as she expected. He had already started to clean out the academy and the traitors that he uncovered did not shock him anymore.

"Like I said, they are in a place where they are safe. This is a great start, now Morgan, you will tell me about these people that you know that are working with Azur or any other demons." His voice was liquid smooth yet very commanding.

Phoebe could see why he was the big 'cahuna,' of the supernatural's on the founding lane. The air he was giving off was quite suffocating and chilling.

Morgan did not seem to be wary, she cackled, wildly and ungoverned. "You must think that I am a fool Rufus, why would I tell you that? I know that I am doomed and if you want those names you are going to have to offer me a deal." She scoffed because Rufus did not flinch at her words. "You have no idea how deep this goes. Make the deal a good one because I know some big fish. People that would make your legs shake.

Azur did not just recruit in the supernatural world, he recruited humans too, powerful ones. He also recruited from the families that were thrown out of the founding society. You want names, I have them but the conditions of me opening my mouth are simple: a deal.

I know that when I die my soul will go to soul but that does not mean I am ready to die today so you cannot sentence me to death. I also do not want to go to any of those prisons at the academy. And I do not deserve to! I only made a deal with Azur because it was the only way that we Montgomery's could survive." She spoke with self-righteousness, a pucker of displeasure tightened her mouth. "Those ungrateful brats do not have the right to judge me. They should be grateful that Shem and I kept them alive and safe by making that deal." Her voice was steady, never wavering at any one point.

Edward's eyes darted back and forth between the old patriarch and Morgan. "Uncle Rufus you cannot seriously be considering this!" He said in disbelief. "She should have gone to the council and sought help immediately after making that deal. The things which being done now like purification and what not.... they could have been done back then."

Rufus leaned forward, his gaze focusing on Morgan like a detective on a suspect in an interrogation room. "You seriously do not understand the gravity of the situation Morgan. You should be begging me to protect your family not to weasel yourself into a deal. Don't you know what could happen if I leave them on their own? Right now, I am the only thing standing between them and total annihilation.

Perhaps I should take that away from them and those friends of Azur in the academy can get their hands on them. You see, I don't care about their fate, unlike you. Right now, every Montgomery that drops dead is a win in my books because I trust none of them. You are already doomed, are you willing to doom them with you?" He did not threaten; he assured, dark and deliberate.

"I will be sure to enjoy the Montgomery family wealth with my true family, the Mayfair's." Rekha said with a deliberate smile.

Her provocative words worked even better than Rufus's warning. Morgan was unwilling to watch Rekha benefit from the Montgomery fortune. If Bernard was not trying to protect Rekha, he would not have sent Azur to the Montgomery home. He would not have revealed the knowledge on how to disarm the protection wards and shields which kept their family safe.

Nothing in the world could ever convince Morgan that Rekha was not to blame for their misfortune. She was the reason why her soul was damned. Her hatred for Rekha prompted her to surrender.

"Professor Derek Cumberbatch, Professor Nikita Spellcaster, warden Clyde Cunningham...." Morgan began to shout out the names of all the people at the academy whom she knew were in cohorts with Azur like a confession tape whose play button had been pushed.

Rufus was not surprised by some of the names mentioned because he had already locked them up in formidable magical prisons awaiting trials however he was surprised to hear some like Derek Cumberbatch. He was a member of his personal inner circle; the man knew of his plans for the academy and also that they were searching for Cillian. It was Abraham that had looped him in. "About Derek, are you certain?" He posed the question tensely like a man testing thin ice.

"It makes sense actually because he was the first person I ran to for help when my father called from the Island of no return." Edward let out a loud wince. "I am not shocked by this at all; they must have set up my father to die on the Island probably because he knew what they were up to. Damn it!!! I will cut him with my sword."

Grandma Mayfair clutched onto her chest. "My poor Cillian." She said quietly. "He died because he found out what he should not have."

Five enforcers entered the house like angels of death in their black outfits. Their presence made everyone uneasy. Phoebe could swear that the air took on a mythical chill. Andre hid behind Edward; he wanted nothing to do with the enforcers.

Morgan was already desperate, as much as she tried to be brave, seeing the enforcers made her so frightened that she peed on the floor.

"No...no...Rufus not the enforcers." She cried out.

One of them tapped the back of her neck, draining her energy and freezing her body from the inside. Soon, she was unable to speak or move like a patient under anesthesia on a surgeon's table. A golden rope snaked out of the pocket of the cloak of one of the enforcers and bound her entirely.

With a flicker of a finger, Rufus ordered the council enforcers to take Morgan away.

The enforcers raised her body with magic, and it followed them through the air.

"I want to be one of them so badly." Rekha whispered.
