Seeing his reaction, Li Nuanchun took off her shoes and climbed into bed as well. However, she couldn’t fall asleep. So, she sat up again and nudged Dai Liwen. "Old Dai, what if there really is an earthquake, and we didn’t spread the word? Who could bear such a huge responsibility?"

Dai Liwen couldn’t sleep either. Hearing this, he felt uneasy. Though he claimed to believe in science, he was worried about the possibility of an earthquake. After pondering for a moment, he suddenly got out of bed.

"I am going to take a look outside."

"What are you going to see?" Li Nuanchun quickly put her shoes on and followed him out.

As soon as they stepped out of their house and onto the corridor, they heard dogs barking outside. The sound in the night was particularly abrupt and scary. Dogs barking was common, but it was unusual for so many dogs to be howling at the same time as though they had been cued.

Dai Liwen felt that there was something wrong now and said seriously, "Chun, go tell everyone to wait outside in the open space. I’m going to the hospital."

"Okay."

Li Nuanchun immediately followed Dai Liwen’s instructions without delay. The first person she called out was Chen Yanmei. Upon hearing that she was being called out to hide from an earthquake, Chen Yanmei’s eyes bulged.

There were still folks on the third and fourth floors who she hadn’t yet alerted. Not wanting to waste any more time, Li Nuanchun quickly ran up to the third floor. Seeing this, Li Meiyu poked her head out, overseeing the hallway. Upon realizing that everyone was still in bed and nobody else was stepping outside, she closed the door and went back into her room.

"Who knocked just now?" Liu Haisheng came out of the inner room with an enamel cup in hand.

"Li Nuanchun came to borrow some stuff." Li Meiyu casually fabricated an excuse to explain the noise.

An earthquake?

She had never heard of an earthquake in Li City in her entire life. Tong Yao must really see herself as some kind of fortune teller. Anyone who believes that is a fool.

Just you wait! Tomorrow, this incident will become the laughingstock of the entire hospital.

Only women lived in the third floor; didn’t have men around, they were a bit more timid. Even though they didn’t quite believe that there’d be an earthquake, they dared not neglect it. Currently, they had all gathered in the corridor weighing whether to go downstairs or not.
