"What’s stopping you?" Li Meiyu’s voice was hoarse from crying, she said bitterly, "He almost started to beat me himself."

Thinking this, Tong Yao couldn’t sit still any longer, put on her shoes, and left the house. When she was passing Li Meiyu’s door, she felt an unfriendly gaze, but she didn’t give it any thought and went straight downstairs.
The residential area was neither near nor far from the school; it took more than twenty minutes to walk. The road from the hospital to the school wasn’t as bustling as the other road to the city center. This was a residential area, with very few shops along the road. A few minutes away from the school, Tong Yao was attracted by the noise coming from a house by the road, and subconsciously slowed down.
