Chapter 387: Chapter 387: Liu Qing Eyes Medicine
Lin Fengying opened her mouth, but suddenly fell silent – indeed, Lin Man did tell her about Tong Yao’s medical appointment, but Lin Man did not mention the results. She simply assumed that Tong Yao must have had some health issues and had undergone the examination without her son’s knowledge.
But if it was as Tong Yao said, wouldn’t that mean that Xiaochen was the one with a problem?
At this moment, Lin Fengying’s face was filled with an array of unbelieving and guilty expressions. She had always believed that the problem lied with Tong Yao, not expecting that her own son had health issues.

With this in mind, Lin Fengying choked up and said, "Regardless of who has health problems, aren’t I doing this all for your own good? While I am still young, you should have children and I can help take care of them. You both have good genes, so you should have more children. What’s wrong with that?"
Does she not want Si Chen to practice medicine anymore, since they are planning for childbirth now?
Tong Yao was about to retort when Si Chen beat her to it. His face was tight as he said in a stern voice, "I have told you before that you do not have to take care of our children. If you really want to have grandchildren, you can help Boyi take care of his children. If you don’t want to, then live in the village. If you feel lonely, you can find a companion back home. In a few years, the house will be renovated, and even if you live in the village, you won’t be mistreated. What else are you dissatisfied with?"
Even though Si Chen didn’t have many affectionate feelings for Lin Fengying, he would fulfill his duties as a son. He would get back home once or twice a year. As long as Lin Fengying stayed honestly in the village and didn’t bring up past issues, that would be the greatest compromise he would make.
Hearing her son uphold Tong Yao’s words, Lin Fengying had mixed feelings. She felt that she had raised her son for so many years in vain, as he no longer cared about her.
Especially when her oldest son demanded her to stay in the village and not go out, she broke down in tears and reprimanded him, choking with sobs.
"Now that you have grown up and are independent, you no longer need to rely on me and start to dislike me for being a burden. You want me to find an old partner to not bother you guys, right? You want to enjoy your good life in the city and make me stay in the village for the rest of my life. Is this the reward for my hard work in raising my sons? If I knew it would turn out like this, I would rather have killed you all when you were born."
In retrospect, she should have been selfish and pursued her own happiness regardless of everything, so as to avoid suffering for so many years.
Seeing her raising her voice with each word, Tong Yao finally couldn’t bear it and rubbed her temples in pain.
"You can speak, but don’t raise your voice any more. If the child wakes up, it would be tough for me to coax him," she said.
Despite all of Lin Fengying’s ranting, her eldest son remained unmoved. Now that her daughter-in-law was rebuking her in front of her own son, Lin Fengying had no graceful way out of the situation. She gritted her teeth and said, "Fine, I’ll leave. I will leave now."

Going behind Si Chen’s back to get a medical check-up and not telling him about it was indeed wrong, but any reasonable person would understand why Tong Yao did so. Thus, she wasn’t worried that Si Chen would be angry.
And indeed, Si Chen didn’t get mad about it. He pulled Tong Yao into his arms and casually said, "There is nothing wrong with me either. As for children, perhaps our destined time has not yet arrived. You don’t have to worry about it because of external pressure. Medical science has seen many couples who have children only after being married for several years. We will eventually have children. If we don’t have children, we can enjoy more time being just the two of us."
Tong Yao looked at him in confusion, "Did you also go for a medical check-up?"
Si Chen replied, "I had a full body check-up before."

The whole time they had been worrying about each other’s health condition, and scared about stressing the other person, so they both hadn’t mentioned it!
