Chapter 441: Chapter 441: The Hospital Trainees Are Confirmed
"Well, what are we waiting for?! Let’s hurry up!"
Si Xiaohui quickly pulled Lin Fengying to the telephone booth. Before making the call, she repeatedly told Fengying to cry, the more pitiful the better, so that their second brother would soften his heart.

Even though Si Chen hadn’t said he was coming over that night, Wen Yun knew that he would definitely come to visit since her husband was discharged from the hospital today.

"These are good for Dad’s body," Si Chen replied.
Tong Yao grimaced, teasing him on purpose: "We’ve agreed to divorce, but you still call him Dad?"
"Are you bullying Xiaochen again?" Tong Yaohui came out of his study and reprimanded Tong Yao, sounding displeased.
Tong Yao snorted, "How dare I! He’s your darling."
Si Chen walked into the house, brought the items to the kitchen, Wen Yun took the items and said, "Hurry and wash your hands to have dinner. Yaoyao is just all bark and no bite, don’t take it to heart."
"I won’t."
Si Chen shook his head.
When everyone sat down for dinner, Tong Yaohui cheerfully picked up his chopsticks and said, "Let’s eat! Let’s eat! Let’s consider this as our delayed New Year’s Eve dinner."
"Xiaochen, you’ve lost weight these days. Eat more." Wen Yun served Si Chen a piece of braised pork. Si Chen had been helping a lot during this period, seeing how he cared for Yaohui just like his own father, the resentment that Wen Yun held for the Si’s Family gradually faded away.
Ignoring Lin Fengying and Si Xiaohui, she was very satisfied with this son-in-law.

"Mom, you’re favoring him just like dad now," Tong Yao pouted playfully.

After dinner, Wen Yun cut some apples for everyone. They seldom gathered for a family time, so they sat in the living room watching the replay of the Spring Festival Gala. In the past years, they always watched it on the day of the Spring Festival, but this time they missed it due to Tong Yaohui’s hospitalization. They figured it was still early, so they sat together, eating fruits, cracking sunflower seeds, and watching the gala.
Wen Yun brought out a thin blanket, Tong Yao sat comfortably cross-legged on the sofa. They watched the gala and chatted. After a while, Si Chen suddenly brought up the topic of the hospital’s opportunity for overseas study.
"The names of the doctors for overseas study have been finalized."
Tong Yaohui and Wen Yun turned to him simultaneously, and Tong Yao paused in the middle of chewing an apple.
Yaohui was the first to react, asking, "Who’s been selected?"
Wen Yun also came to her senses, and asked, "Are you on the list?"
Si Chen nodded. "I’ve been selected. I’ll leave in a week. The program lasts five years, and I’ll get one chance to return home."
He paused and looked at both Tong Yaohui and Wen Yun. "Dad, Mom, this is an opportunity. I want to study abroad for a few years."

Tong Yaohui nodded soberly, "This indeed is a great opportunity. You must seize it."

Even if Si Chen’s departure led to their final parting, Yaohui was not willing to let Yao compromise Chen’s future.
